Muhammad Hanif Mohamed Huzairi, 31-years-old, was sentenced to 7 months jail earlier today (22 April), after pleading guilty to one count of using threatening words towards a public servant under the Protection from Harassment Act.

He had threatened a High Court judge and the Singapore judiciary on Instagram, after the judge dismissed challenges against Section 377A of the Penal Code, which is a law that criminalises sex between men.

Hanif also pleaded guilty to 2 counts of communicating an electronic record containing an incitement to violence.

He had aimed his insults at Justice See Kee Oon, to dismissed the appeals to repeal Section 377A.

Hanif was very upset and felt the judges had to be replaced.

On 30 March 2020, at about 4pm, he posted on Instagram:

“To the deadass boomer of a judge who dismissed the challenges against S377A, you better… watch out!!”

He then commented the following on Pink Dot SG’s Instagram post:

“Time to hunt down the oppressive judges, who basically maintained the legalisation of discrimination against us, and make them pay the ultimate price.”

He then posted another sotry on IG:

“Can we please torture the corrupted judges until they f****** crumble & repeal S377A on the spot!? Pretty please, I’d love to personally torture them to their breaking point.”

A police report was then lodged against him that same day, at about 11.30pm.

Popular seafood stall, Kin Hoi, located at 6 Holland Close, has been suspended from operating their business from 20 April until further notice after 15 people reported gastroenteritis symptoms, according to the Ministry of Health and the Singapore Food Agency.

The 15 people who were hit by gastroenteritis reported their symptoms between 28 March and 15 April, after consuming Kin Hoi’s food, with MOH and SFA being notified of the latest case on 19 April.

One of them was hospitalized but has since been discharged.

The seafood stall specialising in Thai-style seafood items like cockles and grilled prawns, is registered under the name “Meetup @ 352 (Kin Hoi)”.

MOH and SFA said in a joint statement:

“All food handlers working in Meetup @ 352 (Kin Hoi) are required to reattend and pass the Food Safety Course Level 1, before they can resume work as food handlers.”

“Meetup @ 352 (Kin Hoi) is also required to clean and sanitise the premises, including equipment and utensils.“

Kin Hoi’s business partner, Kemono, which provides food preparation and cooking services for Kin Hoi’s online delivery orders, operating at 171 Selegie Road, at a separate facility, has been prohibited from preparing and serving all its menu items to Kin Hoi.

MOH and SFA added:

“Kemono Pte Ltd is required to disinfect food preparation surfaces and floors, and ensure good hygiene maintenance of wash basins,” MOH and SFA.”
