PM LEE – I AM DEEPY HONOURED TO RECEIVE JOHOR’S HIGHEST HONOUR

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong received Johor’s highest honour earlier today, the Dato Sri Paduka Mahkota Johor (First Class, Grand Commander of the Order of the Crown of Johor), from the Sultan of Johor at the Istana Besar Johor.

He shared the good news onto his Facebook, as he expressed his gratitude and honour at receiving the award.

Here is what he said

Deeply honoured to receive Johor’s highest honour — the Dato’ Sri Paduka Mahkota Johor (First Class, Grand Commander of the Order of the Crown of Johor) — from Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar at the Istana Besar Johor today.

Sultan Ibrahim and his wife Raja Zarith Sofiah also hosted us for brunch. It was a pleasure to meet them in JB again after our land borders were partially shut for almost two years.

Johor is a key gateway between Singapore and Malaysia, and both share a special relationship. I’m glad we have moved decisively into living with COVID-19 and resumed our links, so people can cross the Causeway to reconnect with families and friends, like I did today.

I look forward to hosting Sultan Ibrahim during his official visit to Singapore later this year. – LHL

WOMAN WITH DEGREE “RESENTS” HUSBAND FOR EARNING LITTLE MONEY

0

I resent my husband because he makes very little money.

Me(F37) and husband (38) have been married 10 years and have 3 kids. I have so much pent up resentment because he can’t and will never make enough money to meaningfully contribute to our home.

I’m the main bread winner and right now the only bread winner. We live modestly and we never go hungry but we live paycheck to paycheck.

With the cost of living skyrocketing and wages barely creeping up we have never been able to save much. Or we save and then some huge thing happens that depletes all our savings.

I have a degree and make ok money. Less than 80k a year and I’ll never make too much more. We live a simple life with few luxuries, second hand clothes, old car, no real vacations besides some camping trips or a drive to visit relatives.

When I met my husband I encouraged him to go back to school. He never believed in himself and didn’t feel he could do it. He’s worked crappy low paying jobs our whole marriage which is just enough to pay our daycare and maybe a few groceries.

Basically working so someone else can care for our kids. Also you can’t move up in these crap jobs if you don’t work yourself to the bone and put in 60 hours a week.

Which still left me supporting the whole family and doing all the work at home too since he was gone all the time. Then he had a health problem come up and his body could not handle it.

He’s not technically disabled but he can’t do those jobs anymore. There is nothing wrong with his brain. If he had a degree he could work in some professional field or other that doesn’t require wrecking your body.

But now he’s a stay at home dad until our youngest is in school full time because there’s no sense in him working to pay for daycare.

I love him and my kids but I did not want this. I did not want to basically support a whole family. I did not want to live paycheck to paycheck.

I don’t need fancy things or a lot of material things but I walk around with the stress of being the breadwinner all the time! I don’t even make that much to begin with.

Had he gotten SOME KIND of degree maybe he could actually make enough money to contribute to our home! Even just like a certification in something would give him more opportunities.

I get so jealous of my friends whose husband have professional jobs and make good money. I don’t want their material things or even their high income.

I just want their sense of security that their partner can contribute just as much as they can. Some cushion. Or even the ability to cut my hours a little or not have to pick up overtime.

Sometimes I regret marrying him. I’m angry that he didn’t listen to me when he had the opportunity to go to school and now look at the pickle we’re in.

I regret putting myself in this situation. I knew better but I did it anyway. Money doesn’t buy happiness but lack of money sure does lead to a lot of stress and unhappiness.

CANNOT CYCLE ON EXPRESSWAY, SO HERO ROLLERBLADES ON CTE INSTEAD

The man was seen rollerblading on the 3rd lane of the expressway, and a car had to slow down because the fella was rollerblading right in front of the car and blocking it.

The sot fella rollerblader then moved to the side of the lane.

24 Y.O GIRL STILL VIRGIN & NEVER HAD A BF, THINKS SHE’S GONNA DIE ALONE

0

I honestly think im gonna be alone forever (romantically)

Im 24(f), virgin, never have been in a relationship other than a couple one night kiss in clubs. Like seriously now it just feels weird to imagine myself in a relationship.

My friends ask me if i honestly believe im gonna be alone forever and i so confidently tell them that yes i do. And i know i believe this.

Some say that that’s really sad, others say that it won’t happen, that one day i will find someone. But honestly, many people die alone and never marry, never are in a relationship, and then they die alone in their house.

Why couldn’t that happen to me?

Idk i think about this so much it keeps me up at night. People say not to stress about it, that “one day love will come” but i feel that’s nonsense. You either get lucky or you don’t.

Netizens’ comments

I don’t think it’s down to luck. It’s more like you either put yourself out there or don’t. If you are content in being alone in your own company and building a life onward without a romantic partner, then that is what will more than likely happen. You’ll sort of manifest that lifestyle.

If not, you’ll find someone you like and they’ll like you, and you’ll build a life together and make it work if that’s what you both want.

FAMILY THAT HAD FLOWERS CUT BY VANDAL, GETS DONATION OF NEW ORCHIDS

A video emerged online last week showing a stranger vandalizing and cutting all the heads of a row of flowers that were placed outside a family’s home along the corridor.

However, a kind Singaporean man took it upon himself to buy a fresh batch of orchids to donate to the family.

From the bottom of my heart, I’m really happy and grateful for the new orchids you gave to my Family. I pray God that bless you and your family today and for the rest of your life.

WOMAN LEAVES BEHIND A PILE OF GARBAGE AT TAMPINES GOLDEN VILLAGE

A woman was seen drinking bottles of wine to enjoy and leaves the cinema with a pile of garbage on the ground.

Here is what the netizen who posted the photo said:

Shame on you.

Golden Village, Tampines Mall, Hall 4

5th May, 10.05pm viewing of Dr Strange

This mess was created by 1 person. Saw her wiping her hands on the head rest of the seat to her left. She brought two bottles of wine, finished one and rolled it under her seat along with a stack of disposable cups. The mess was a lot worse under the seats.

Here are what netizens think:

Want to be romantic to watch movie?? Get a bottle of wine…But she get 2, and is too much for her… don’t you know your limit..?!?!1 person create such a mess… OMG… what upbringing she has…?!?!Don’t you know red wine is very hard to clean?? ESP on carpet floor…

My mum used to be a cleaner at cinema and her job wasnt easy due to the mess people leave behind after watching the movie. I hope more people can be more considerate and make the cleaners life easier

Omg . . . What a mess she has created. Such bad behaviour and poor upbringing. Probably her own room could be 100 time worst than this or even her body smells.

this same behaviour is everywhere la… just that she brought it along with her into the cinema. go take a walk along HDB flats especially those with coffee shops… same same

JAPAN GOING TO EASE BORDERS BY JUNE 2022 SO PREPARE TO HOLIDAY

Japan may reopen to foreign tourists next month (June), and the government will make a final decision on lifting the tourist visa ban within two weeks.

Japan has national holidays on April 29 and May 3-5, and many companies are furloughing their employees this weekend. Usually, this period is a golden tourist week when much Japanese travel domestically and return to their hometowns.

Officials are considering opening up group tours, to begin with, as this is easier to manage for travel agencies and other tourists. A final decision will be announced at the end of May.

The cap on the number of people open to entry will also be revised, possibly temporarily increasing the daily entry quota from the current 10,000 to 20,000. The government is also considering accepting tourists from the U.S., Europe and Asia under certain conditions, as well as limiting numbers. Officials will consider ways to balance measures to revive the economy.

The current policy to limit infections outside Japan has been gradually eased in stages, and foreigners have been allowed to enter for business and other restricted purposes since March, under the supervision of relevant companies or organisations.

XMM KNEEL DOWN BEG BOYFRIEND TO STAY, BUT HE TAKES LUGGAGE & LEAVES

A video emerged online showing a xmm kneeling down in front of a guy, seeming appearing to be begging him to stay.

A netizen commented that it is “not worth it la sis”, seemingly implying that the two were apparently having some form of relationship drama.

The guy was seen in the video standing right in front of the kneeling girl, appearing to say something to her.

The next moment, he walked towards his trolley bag, picked it up and walked away, leaving the kneeling girl behind.
