A man posted on Facebook stating that an unauthorized transaction of over $1,300 was made to his UOB account.

The man immediately called the man but the bank but the transaction still took place.

Here is what the man said:

Please check your bank account from time to time.

An unauthorised transaction of USD$974.40 (SGD$1375.83) was made from my UOB’s account without any OTP from the bank.

Okay, so I made a call to UOB the next morning after I saw the message. I was told that the pending amount will be canceled by the bank immediately and all transactions from my account will be stopped.

I was told that after they cancel this transaction, the amount will be credited back to my account as they are not able to track this transaction.

Two days ago, I checked my account and this transaction was posted! And there hasn’t been any letter or call from UOB ( but they promised to give me a call or email to inform me of any updates).

LESSON LEARNED! There was nothing I could do even if I keep my money with UOB. I shared my incident with my friends and I got shocked, 5 of them have faced the same issue with UOB as well. Anyone experienced this before?

The woman continuously accused the man of starting the fight first but CCTV footage reveals that the young man was the one who started the fight.

An elderly man was sent to the hospital after he tripped over construction material that was lying around at a void deck located in Teck Whye.

I would like to address a serious concern regarding public safety.

On 22rd April 2022 around 6.10pm, I received a call from my dad about a bad fall tripping over some materials at the void deck located at Blk 4 Teck Whye Ave.

He called up 995 as he is experiencing severe pain on his right elbow.

Over the phone, I told him I will be there soonest to attend to him. Paramedics arrived within 10 min and attended to my dad immediately, they aided my dad on stretcher.

I would like to thank the paramedic for their assistance to my dad.

I am very concern for my dad and at the same time trying to understand how the incident happened.

He explained there were ongoing construction works and workers at the time of incident and highlighted the exact location and I went to survey the ground immediately.

I took some photos and approached the contractor on site doing some repairing bin chute structure. I approached him and ask him if he seen and help an elderly man who just had a bad fall and if he can help address where the exact location is. They pointed the same exact location.

I thanked him for helping the old man and told them he was my father and also highlight to them as I spotted electric cable running across the void deck, charging their battery pack can pose a hazard to the public as there is a lot elderly in this area.

I told them that they can do it in a better way. They acknowledge and walk away. They identified themselves as Town council contactors doing repair work. I took a photo of the fall location and it was empty. They use orange netting cordon their work beside as shown.

I immediately call EMSU to highlight the case to them. Next morning property officer called me and we met at the incident site. He is aware about my dad condition after my explanation and he assured to get back to me on my case.

I asked my dad again to reconfirm what had happened.

He explained that he stepped on square shiny bundle thing lying flat on the floor which I identify as wire mesh.

He said the bundle of wire mesh all over, he walked towards to the stair trying to avoid the mess but accidentally step on to the small pieces and slip off.

The site has no barricade to cordon off and proper signage to inform the public or else he would definitely make a detour.

I would make a police report on this as I see police CCTV camera at the void deck hope to get some footage on it.

I felt there is lack of safety provision on Town council contractors.

It’s important to have safety personnel from Town Council and the contractor side working at public area in the heart of our neighborhood. I don’t see them wearing any helmet while exposing them to spalling concrete at bin chute.

My objective for such posting is to show awareness of public safety. Safety is everyone responsibility.

I hope the relevant authorities would conduct an investigation on this.

I recently turned 18, and I decided to take the opportunity to “explore” and start having an adult life. A woman posted a photo on Facebook stating that she was harass by her Tada driver, who wanted her to take off her mask to see her face and even wanted to go up her house

Her encounter:

I booked a cab from my house to Balestier using Tada APP. And during the journey, this driver started asking me how old am’i and I asked him why? He said that I look young, so i told him I was 26.

And soon after he started asking me if the house that I stay is HDB rental or Purchased and if I’m staying alone. So I told him that it was rental and I stay with my kids.

He then proceed to ask me to remove my mask and I told him NO. I told him that I don’t want to remove my mask and there was no reason for me to remove my mask. He said that he just want to see my face without my mask on, he wants to know how exactly what I look like. I still refused and he carried on saying that now there’s no more Covid19 restrictions, and he has no covid, tell me don’t need to be afraid.

I told him I’m not afraid that if he has covid, but I’m just uncomfortable with it. He add on saying now outdoor u sure never wear mask de mah. I say, no la. I still got wear. He asked me further and say when you are eating, you wear mask?

I say that’s different. So he gave up and started another conversation again. He asked how’s the design of my house, how is the sound proof, where is my room, is my room near the main door of my house and is my neighbour’s unit near me?

I just told him that my neighbour unit is extremely near to me and I have a strong relationship with my neighbour. He asked if he could go up my house, I straight up tell, NO. are you crazy? He say why cannot?

Just go up, see see and go. I told him NO. (I immediately messaged my cousin as I’m afraid and informed her what happened and she told me that she will meet me at the roundabout) And then he kept quiet until we exit Balestier Road, he asked if i have a driving license?

I said no then he told me if i have any female friends that has driving license? I told him No again, and he say oh now a lot of females driving PHV. And when I reached my destination, I placed the amount of $19 on the Center console. My cousin and my aunt opened the door and confronted him asked him why did he tell me to remove my mask and even say that he wants to come up my house to have a look despite me saying no time after time? His explanation was that he didn’t see before HDB rental house, so he just wants to have a look and regarding about the mask, he just wants to have a look at me full face. He passed us back the $19 which we did not intend to take back at all.

And because the drop off point was a condo, in order not to obstruct other vehicles, and I was still afraid, we didn’t managed to video down.

I hope thru this platform, I’m able to get some advice from professional PHV drivers on what I should do next? I have tried calling TADA’s hotline but they are closed and I’ve already emailed them regarding about this too.

Lastly, I would like to create awareness to all female passengers regarding about this incident that happened to me.
