Having neighbours can be a good and bad thing, sometimes we get good and friendly neighbours while sometimes we get those that are completely irresponsible.

A netizen’s neighbour let their cat defaecate at the aircon ledge and the smell was unbearable.

Neighbour upstairs has been letting their cat sit on the AC ledge (third photo). Initially it was fine until the cat started defecating and urinating (though no stool in picture, there are stains left behind at pics 1 and 2). The smell accumulated over a period of time and it has been getting worse. There were a few times where our laundry was stained by the cat waste. The most infuriating part of all? They did not even bother washing the ledge!

We tried letting them know nicely, but they ignored. We tried complaining to HDB, they only came once. They did wash after their visit, but they just dumped water for the sake of “washing”. It has been three weeks, and the smell is back, and much worse than before.

I am neutral when you want to let your cat go on the ledge. But if it starts defecating or urinating there, be responsible and wash, at least.

According to the Police media release, a 46-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking.

On 19 April 2022 at about 11.15pm, the Police were alerted to a case of housebreaking at a residential unit along Teck Whye Lane. Cash amounting to at least $3,000 was purportedly stolen.

Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras and CCTVs, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within 24 hours from the time of report.

The man will be charged in court on 22 April 2022 with housebreaking, punishable under Section 451 of the Penal Code 1871.

The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and a fine.

Penalties

Motorists who are involved in accidents must stop and render necessary assistance such as calling for an ambulance to attend to any injured party.  

Failure to do so is an offence under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Act, Chapter 276. If convicted, the offender is liable to a fine not exceeding $3,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months and in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years.

For the offence of Dangerous Driving under Section 64(1) of the Road Traffic Act, Chapter 276, motorists will upon conviction have their driving licence disqualified by the court and shall be liable to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months, or both. In the case of a second or subsequent conviction, the motorist will face a fine not exceeding $10,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years, or both.

A Chinese National woman has been fined after she practised traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in Singapore.

According to the Strait Times, 62-year-old Li Li is in Singapore on a long-term visitor’s pass.

Li practised TCM on a cancer patient even though she is not a registered TCM practitioner nor is she qualified.

Background

Initially, the patient had an appointment at one of the specialist clinics located in Mount Elizabeth Hospital. But the licensed TCM practitioner was not in the clinic during the appointment.

Li who is a director of the company performed the “consultation” instead.

The patient was seen by Li and the patient was told that her body was “heaty” and prescribed a $1,000 herbal treatment.

In Singapore, a TCM practitioner is required to be qualified and registered with TCM Practitioner Board. However, Li was neither a registered practitioner nor qualified to do so.

Anyone who is unqualified and practices TCM can be jailed for up to 6 months and fined up to a maximum of $25,000.
