SG ELECTRICITY TARIFFS UP BY AROUND 10% FOR THIS QUARTER

Expect to pay higher electricity bills this month and the next two as SP group said yesterday (March 31) electricity tariff that households will pay an average of 9.9% more for the period of April to June.

SP group said that the increase in higher energy is due to the current unrest in Ukraine citing the increase of oil and gas prices as the reason.

The electrical tariff will increase from 25.44 to 27.93 cents this quarter (Prices are before GST).

For the last 5 quarters, the electricity tariff has been rising steadily and this current quarter has the highest increase.

Here is what SP Group said:

For the period from 1 April to 30 June 2022, electricity tariff (before 7% GST) will increase by an average of 9.9% or 2.49 cents per kWh compared with the previous quarter.

The increase is mainly due to higher energy cost arising from significantly higher global gas and oil
prices exacerbated by the conflict in Ukraine.

Facebook User Mee Pok Tah, who previously accused the National University Hospital (NUH) for making his wife wait 2 hours at the hospital resulting in the wife suffering a miscarriage has posted on his Facebook to clarify the details of the case.

According to Mee Pok Tah, the facts were clarified after they had a few meetings with NUH over the alleged incident, which made him realised that the miscarriage suffered by his wife might not have occurred at the Hospital itself.

He then apologised for his initial Facebook post which he says have created unintended speculation which caused others to say nasty things about the staff at NUH, while thanking the staff at NUH for saving his wife.

He ended off by saying that the matter has been resolved and they will not be pursuing or making any more comments about the case.

“I would like to express my gratitude to NUH over the incident for my wife’s case. There are facts that have been clarified after a few meetings with NUH.

Firstly, on the profuse bleeding, my wife was bleeding profusely when she was at home but when she arrived at hospital E&D, the blood has subsided but not to a certain extent that bleeding has stopped.

Secondly, the nurses did check on my wife at intervals.

Based on the information provided by the hospital, we realised that the miscarriage may not have occurred at the hospital E&D.

I recognised and apologised that my original post on FB has created unintended speculation and nasty comments of staffs. After clarifications on the the facts with the hospital, i would like to thank them for saving my wife.

We wish to clarify that matter has been resolved and we will not be making any further comments on her case.

Back in 2003, I was 8 years old. Our family had just moved into a new home. I was wide awake. It was practically past midnight, and I was laying in my bed.

For you to understand this story better, I’ll have to explain how the room was like.

So, I had my bed at the end of the room below the windows. and at the other side was the door. Next to the door was a walk in closet, both doors of the closet had mirrors on them.

They were pretty big, I’d say it covered 75% of the wall. So I could see my own reflection when I was on my bed.

Anywho, as I laid there, waiting for me to fall asleep. I felt something grab my leg, like a big hand violently grabbing my leg, then pulling me out of bed.

As soon as this happened, I began screaming and held the headboard of the bed so to not get completley pulled away.

As this was going on, I guess my brother was also awake because he heard my screams. He tried opening my door but couldn’t get in.

And in my house, there is a rule: Never lock any door. So it was unlocked, but for some reason he couldn’t open it.

He yelled out to my mother and father. While they were getting up I was still struggling and holding onto the headboard.

When I looked back, I saw the reflection of myself on the closet doors. There was a huge, black arm coming from under my bed, grabbing my leg and pulling me. As soon as I saw that, I screamed louder.

When my parents finally reached the door to my room, they were able to open it, the hand let go and went under the bed.

They turned on the lights and asked me what was going on. I told them what went down, but obviously it was swept aside with a bad dream. Even though I was clearly awake.

After this day, I grabbed the mattress and put it on the floor. I was not going to sleep on beds that had spaces under them, afraid of this to occur again.

My brother believed me because I showed him the bed frame, there were 3 scratch marks on the side where the arm came out.

Mind you, the bed was new, my dad had them set up the night we arrived. He knew I couldn’t have done that to it.

A 27 year old financial analyst by the name of Alexandra Low Xin Ying was sentenced to four years and four months of jail term after she had pleaded her guilt to 20 cheating charges amounting up to $453,600.

There were another 57 charges which were linked to her cheating of the remaining of the $600,000 taken into consideration during her sentencing.

She had cheated the money out of 75 victims by giving them fake reasons and she then used the money which she has gained from cheating the victims to pay for her bust enhancements.

Reasons that she gave for borrowing the money included:

  • Paying down payment for her property
  • Helping out her uncle with settling accident compensation fees to his employers

So far, only $128,151 of which she cheated have been recovered.

Exploited the goodwill and trust of her victims

To successfully convince the victims of coming out with their money for the purpose of funding her bust enhancement sessions, Low came out with a plan to cheat them in 2019 August to November.

She reached out to many many of them so that she did not have to borrow such a huge amount from any single individual.

Each victim was cheated of the an amount between $300 and $121,500.

A male friend of Low was cheated of $121,500 under the pretext that Low’s family had an unpaid loan and they were in dire financial needs.

He transferred her $8,500 on the first occasion on 3 Sep 2019 and subsequently more and more times till the amount he loaned her totalled $121,500.

A similar method was used to cheat the rest of the victims and they later attempted to get their money back from Low.

Gave various excuses

In trying to delay paying her victims, she gave them many excuses and even made a fake Police report to say that she was a victim of an investment scam worth $348,000.

The fake Police report was filed so that she can use it as evidence to show her victims that she was really a victim of the scam which she purported.

WhatsApp Group formed

Several victims then formed a WhatsApp Group on 12 November 2019 to hold a discussion on Low’s cheating cases.

One of the victims subsequently contacted Low and went to Bishan Neighbourhood Police Centre where she finally admitted that she had cheated 70 people.

She was arrested on 15 Nov 2019 in her place of residence.

My boyfriend laughed at me while I was crying.

So we started chatting and hit it off even more and after a week or so I asked her if she wanted to get a drink sometime? She agreed so the next day in the afternoon we went out. At this point I haven’t asked if she is in a relationship neither has she mentioned anything to me that she is in one.

So the day arrives I ask her if she needs a pickup she says “no i have someone taking me there”. So i go out with her make some smooth jokes she grabs my hand and stuff. So after drinking and having lunch for an hour and a half I had to go because I had a appointment for work. So we walk to the place where she would be picked up.

This is where the beginning of the screw up happens and I should’ve seen the signs. So we walk back she holds my hand and drags me into a side alley where we make out for about 5 mins. So some information the alley connects to the parking lot but it’s at an angle so you can not look into the alley from the parking lot if that makes sense. So I tell her “I need to go shall I walk with u to ur lift?”

Sarah: “No No No hurry to your car and go to work I had a great time with you (with a smile)”

Later she text me if i wanna do something later in the week i invite her over to my place for dinner and we did it with each other. After I ask her if she needs a ride home she tells me no someone is picking me up. I let her go and she tells me her lift is waiting around the corner, and then we make out and she leaves. So me being someone who hasn’t had a girlfriend in 5 years tells my best friend about this when I went over to his place

He grabs me by my arm and tells me no you know she has a boyfriend who she’s been with for 3 years. At this point my heart rate starts raising and my friend can see my shock. So I explained everything to him show him the texts.

His girlfriend, who was also with us then told us Sarah recently has been talking to her about breaking up with her boyfriend of 3 years since a couple of days.

I am someone who would never EVER cheat on someone or with someone so I feel AWFUL AND HEARTBROKEN. But this is not where it stops because I felt so much anger and guilt towards Sarah.

I walk outside of the room where my best friend and his girlfriend are and tell them I am calling her. They try to stop me but I proceeded and went outside and call her.

She picks up the phone and tells me wait let me get some where more private so I know her boyfriend is there. I tell her everything she starts crying and blaming it on me that I never asked if she was in a relationship which is ridiculous after some time talking we calm down and talk about it

She then tells me she wants to break up with her boyfriend and be with me. My heart RAISES to the moon and i don’t know what to do I tell her PLEASE SARAH DON’T and start yelling it over the phone. My friend and his girlfriend come in and see me hang up the phone.

She still texts me and tells me that she is sorry and she really likes me and she doesn’t know what to do and still ASKS ME IF SHE NEEDS TO BREAK UP HER BOYFRIEND.

After this, my friend also told me it was probably her BOYFRIEND WHO DROPPED HER OFF ON BOTH OF HER DATES WITH ME! because she doesn’t have a driver’s license.

Which explains why she didn’t want me to take her to the car.

I’m so tired of men lying just to get me to spread my legs

I’ve been lied to by men I trusted and groomed by a man twice my age and gotten drunk by a man I know would have used me if he had gotten a chance.

I had my heart broken by a man pretending he cared and held my hand when he never felt any love for me.

And yet I still take chances on men, meeting them through dating apps and hoping this one’s different.

I make it clear what I’m looking for. I set boundaries. And these men have the audacity to try and use me for fun like I’m their plaything.

And all I want is to feel love but there are so many crappy men out there just trying to use me that will lie to my face bout their intentions.

I’m tired of having to sift through them just to find someone who cares. I can’t trust people anymore.

Basically this was what happened after watching the Oscars with my wife and I got into trouble for not particular reason.

This happened just a couple days ago during the Oscars and honestly I am still not quite sure what I did wrong but my wife was pissed off and gave me the silent treatment for a full day.

We were watching the Oscars happily until we got to the point where Will slapped Chris and my wife looks at me disgustedly saying something like “you men are all like this, resorting to violence for no good reason”

Hearing that, I replied that I don’t think I am like that and I would have let the joke pass without saying anything.

She followed up by saying “Ya, I am sure you would not have stood up for me”.

I politely point out that these two points are kinda at odds and she typically is more than strong enough to stand up for herself without me making a fool of myself or making things worse but then we start talking about feminism and before I know it I am trying to sleep on the sofa thinking why did she get so mad suddenly with me for no reason.
