UNCLE STOLE $1,000 AT WOODLANDS VISTA POINT, CAUGHT ON CCTV

Payday is also a period when expats residing in Singapore transfer money back to their families back home.

Unfortunately for this Malaysian worker, her bag had roughly $1,000 in cash and goods and it was taken at Vista Point Kopitiam in Woodlands.

The man who took the bag seemed to be an elderly man and his actions were caught on the camera.

This person committed a theft at Vista Point, Kopitiam. He stole my girlfriend’s bag, personal property consist of $1K+ etc. Those cash were meant to be sent back to her family in Malaysia.If anyone have any information on regards of this person, do PM me.

3 FIRES IN A NIGHT, TOTAL OF 515 PEOPLE EVACUATED

Three fires occurred last night and SCDF was fire fighting around the island in Telok Blangah, Bedok North and Tampines.

Block 39 Telok Blangah Rise

At about 4.40am today (29 Jan), SCDF was alerted to a fire at the above-mentioned location.Upon SCDF’s arrival, the fire was raging and had totally engulfed a unit on the 10th floor.

Firefighters conducted forcible entry into the unit directly above the fire and found a woman lying unconscious on the floor. The crew immediately rescued the woman out of the unit and brought her to the lift lobby

280 people evacuated from the location.

Block 204 Bedok North Street 1

At about 11.50pm last night (28 Jan), SCDF was alerted to a fire at the coffeeshop.

The fire was extinguished with five water jets within an hour. Damping down operations* are ongoing. About 55 people from residential units above the coffee shop were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Block 941 Tampines Ave 5

At about 10.30pm yesterday (28 Jan), SCDF was alerted to a fire.

Upon SCDF’s arrival, the fire was raging and had totally engulfed a two-storey unit on the 10th floor.

firefighters also conducted forcible entry into a bedroom on the first storey, and found a man lying unconscious on the floor. The firefighters immediately rescued him out of the burning unit.

About 180 people from neighbouring units were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

A guy shared a story of how he once decided to get his girlfriend who is now his ex-girlfriend into trouble with the mother by using her online shopping account to add all types of ‘toys’ into her shopping list.

He meant it as a joke but it apparently backfired on him as his then girlfriend did not seem to be pleased with what he did and made him her ex.

Here is the story

“This story happened quite some time back and honestly I was am quite embarrassed about it now then I think back.

I had been with this girl for like 6 months previously and we were super comfortable with each other and the relationship was going great.

We liked to prank each other a lot from time to time. She will do stupid stuff to me and I will do stupid stuff to her.

One day I got the bright idea to add a bunch of… interesting items to her “shopping list” on one of her online shopping accounts. It was like 30 or 40 different items of ‘toys’.

Whatever ‘toys’ you could think of, it was all there on her ‘shopping list’.

I thought to myself this is gonna be great.

I knew that she was sharing the account with the mother and I wanted to see how embarrassed she would feel if her mother had saw the ‘shopping list’.

She managed to see the list before her mother saw it and deleted it but the worst part is that because of the search history, the shopping website would continue to recommend products to her constantly so the mother eventually saw all of the ‘toys’ appear on the ‘for you’ page.

It was because of this that I never could bring myself to meet her mum and we are no longer together I think because of that.

Anyways lesson learned kids.”

A guy shared a story of how he decided to prank his crush by creating another account and sliding into her DMs.

Both of them had wanted to focus on their careers first and did not want to get into a serious relationship yet so they did not talk much.

They hit off quite well with the other account and he felt bad for lying to her so he admitted his doings only to have her get a breakdown and delete him.

“Ok so this happened like some time ago and I’m devastated right now… Let’s start with some background.

I have known her for like 5 years.

We admitted to liking each other some two years back but mutually decided to not turn it into an actual relationship yet because we’re both in a very critical phase of our careers.

We usually talk only a couple times a month.

All was going somewhat smoothly but then one day for some reason I thought I wanted to talk to her more often so I made a fake id on instagram and dmed her.

I introduced myself as an anonymous person from her school who disliked her and wanted to her to fail in life.

We actually talked very smoothly, having interesting discussions on various topics with me making some random nonsense once in a while.

It went on for about a week.

After a week of this, I started to feel bad for lying to her because she had been consistently asking me if i was the anonymous person because of similar writing style I guess and i would constantly deny it.

So finally I decided to tell her the truth, expecting a good laugh or such but what happened was she legit started crying.

Never in my petty life could I imagine that she was taking the nonsense seriously.

She told me that she’s been really troubled the past week and I apologised a lot and tried to explain to her that I never intended on hurting her and thought it was just a silly prank but she would not listen and ended things with me.

Thing is that we haven’t even started yet and I haven’t felt worse in my life.

I asked her to rethink her decision and tell me after a few days..

She hasn’t responded yet.

I know that I did a bad thing but I still don’t think I deserve this.

I honestly would have told her sooner if I had known how she was feeling but I never got a hint of that because she was talking really nicely and a lot with that other id.

Lets just hope she changes her decision.”

In the end, the girl that walked out was not his friend but a random stranger, leaving the guy feeling embarrassed.

“A few people from our group decided to go for drinks one day, three girls, another guy and I.

We were having round after round of beers, chugging them down while playing games and soon enough, a few of us have to go to the toilet.

A girl from the group and I decided to go together as we were already at high tide.

The toilet at the pub we were at was not like a separate big toilet for male and female but rather it was two individual standalone single toilets only marked out by a male logo and female logo on the door.

I had finished using the toilet and thought that my female friend was still inside the toilet next to mine and I decided to get out of the toilet and wait next to the cubicle’s door, with a stupid face and lifted arms “preparing” to jump on her the moment I heard the door being open.

Eventually, the door opened and I proceeded to shout a loud “boo” and jumped in front at her.

Turns out, it was not my female friend but a random female stranger who got the shock of her life.

I apologised to her profusely and got out of there as fast as I could but I can still feel my face on fire, hot and flushed with embarrassment.

My friends must have realised what happened as when I went back, everyone was looking at me and laughing out loud.”

“I have a younger sister who is about 10 years old this year.

We have an age difference of about 14 years old, basically I am 24 years of age and the reason for such a big age gap was that my parents gave to me at a young age of 20.

So basically I have not been the most demure person and there was not a day that I will not use any expletive be it in any language.

I am the typical type of AH LIAN that you will find in your daily lives.

So one day while at home, my younger sister came up to me and asked: “eh jie you keep using this word XX what does it mean ah?”

That was it. I did not know how should I reply her and thought long when suddenly I decided to just lie through and tell her that it meant something along the lines of ‘you are a good person’.

The young and innocent her then quickly absorbed the lesson from me and started adding it into her vocabulary.

The next day, I came home to my parents confronting me and my sister sulking.

They asked me what did I teach my younger sister and why did I tell her another meaning that encouraged her to use it.

Apparently, she went around school and used it on her teachers as she loved her teachers and wanted to thank them for their efforts, only to be sent to the principal’s office and have the principal phone them to tell them what my younger sister had done.”

A guy shared a story of the effort that he put in to help his sister find her lost iPhone which was pretty troublesome and intense and it was like they went through a big round without achieving anything.

Here is the story

“I thought that I would just share about how my sister screwed up and lost her iPhone and roped in my help to help search for it and I just want to rant as I did not get any credit for my help and am just finding an avenue to make some noise.

  1. Sis lost her phone, most likely while she was at my mom’s house.
  2. She drove back to my mom’s house to look for the phone and my mom tried calling it.
  3. It’s on silent, so calling it from another phone won’t make it ring.
  4. She attempts logging into icloud to use find my iphone
  5. She forgot her icloud password
  6. Her icloud password is on her “password manager”.. which is just a note on her lost iPhone…
  7. She couldnt use my moms Samsung phone to reset her icloud password. You must use another apple product.
  8. She then calls me from my moms phone, freaking out. Asks if we have any apple products to do the password reset using Apple Support.
  9. I tried using my macbook, but you can only get the Apple Support app on iphone, ipad or ipod touch
  10. I got my trusted friend to attempt password reset
  11. It tried sending an access code to the trusted phone number listed in the iCloud account
  12. My sister used her OWN phone number as the trusted number (whyyyy)
  13. If you don’t have access to the trusted phone number, it sends an access code to the associated email address.
  14. at this point my niece was having a tantrums because it was past her bedtime, so my sister had to leave my mom’s place.
  15. I had to guess my sister’s email password to get the access code. (Which I found out this morning SHE DIDN’T EVEN REMEMBER LOL)
  16. Got my friend to use the code but then…
  17. IT ASKS FOR THE MASTERCARD INFO ASSOCIATED WITH THE APPLE STORE ACCOUNT AS PROOF OF IDENTITY. what in the world lol
  18. So because she went home, we couldn’t proceed until the morning.
  19. She went back to my mom’s house in the morning, I got her cc info, I got my friend to proceed with the attempt to access icloud.
  20. There is a 24 hr hold for apple support to get in touch by email to say how long the account will be locked out and to send password reset information.
  21. My sister almost went crazy as she really needs a phone in the meantime.
  22. She got another phone at with the hope of maybe still finding the original one and transfer everything and sell the old phone or the new phone
  23. She remembers that the daycare is set as an emergency contact and will make the phone ring/vibrate despite it being on silent
  24. She goes back to my mom’s, calls the daycare from mom’s phone, and gets them to try calling 3 times in hopes of hearing ringing.
  25. But unfortunately, she remembers that she already put the sim card with her phone number in the new/temporary phone so it is calling that not the old phone.”

A guy shared a story of how he went to a job interview one day and when asked by the Human Resource Manager on his expected salary, he gave an amount that was too low and even lower than his current drawn salary.

He now regrets it because he did not calculate properly before answering and now has to work with a much lower salary as everything was already discussed and he really wanted to land the job.

Here is the story

“I spent months looking for a new job because I felt that I had already reached by maximum potential at my current job and I wanted something more challenging. Everywhere I applied, everyone who asked, i always told: “I make $X/month GROSS”, because that’s what I was making in my current job.

I got to the final interview with a fantastic company. Like, the best I could hope to find in this moment of my career. They basically match my current salary and said that they will wait for my answer.

I made some final checks on what they proposed, and something was not right. Which was absurd, because they matched the gross $x/month I told them. Except I wasn’t making that money. I was making more.

In my calculations of my gross monthly salary I left out the 13th month bonus and mid year bonuses that my current company gives me. Basically I asked less than what I was taking, and they matched.

I tried to clarify the mistake, but I was denied because they told that was the standard salary for someone in my position, and in the end I took the job anyway because as I said it was an opportunity too good to let it pass.

I still enjoy my time and work in this job but I regret not checking more thoroughly as it has cost me quite a substantial amount added up together.”

A guy shared a story of how he was playing with his kids one day and one of their toys had a suction cup which ended up being stuck on his forehead as they were playing.

Instead of pulling the suction cup out slowly, his kid pulled it out almost instantly, leaving a mark on his forehead.

His wife was the mark on his forehead an hour later and asked him why did he have a hickey there and now he’s afraid his colleagues will think the same when he returns to work the next day.

“This happened a moment ago when I was playing with my kids and one of their toys had a suction cup about a few centimetres in diameter.

I was able to get it stuck to one of my kids forehead and it would fall off shortly after. They all thought it was hilarious and I spent about 30 minutes repeating said trick on two of them.

Well, I finally did it to myself and one of my kids ripped it off instead of letting it slowly fall off. Felt like a band aid being taken off and I didn’t think anything of it at the time.

My wife informed me about a hour later that I had a red circle on my forehead. She asked what I had been doing. That’s when I remembered the “bandage pull”.

She then said that it looked like a perfectly round hickey. So now I have a hickey on my forehead and I have to go into work tomorrow.

Luckily I’m able to wear hats at work but I now run the risk of my colleagues workers thinking I moonlight as a unicorn or worst think that I love to receive hickeys in weird places.

Definitely going to be a laughing stock.”

A lady shared a story of how she dropped her wedding ring inside the toilet bowl while using the toilet one day and because the system is an automatic flushing system, it auto flushed and it resulted in her losing her wedding ring.

She mentioned that she usually takes off the ring while using the toilet as she had lost some weight making the ring looser and easier to drop out but this time she was just eager to let go and forgot to take it out.

“This happened some time back and I still have not told my husband about it

For background, I am lactose intolerant but I love my coffee with milk.

Having just a little too much of it can make my tummy churn like crazy and I will always end up having to rush to the toilet.

So I’m sitting at my desk at work, Starbucks in hand, when I feel it hit my gut. It’s coffee toilet rush time. As always, I head to the single-use bathroom between the gendered ones as to not subject another soul to what I was about to do.

I sit down and sure enough, out comes the products of my lactose intolerance. Not exactly liquid, definitely not solid. After the cramping has stopped, it’s time to clean up and forget what I’ve done.

I fold the toilet paper, reach down to wipe, and I feel the ring on my ring finger slip off and fall down into the toilet.

I’m sitting there in a daze, trying to decide whether or not I’m about to reach my hand down into the war zone below for my ring. And it’s not just any ring. It’s the wedding ring that husband bought which had our names on it.

Like a good wife, I stand up, dirty cheeks and all, having made my decision. It was then I realised my fatal error when the noise of the toilet automatically flushing behind me rang in my ears.”
