HDB BLOCKS IN AMK AND CLEMENTI TO GO FOR MANDATORY COVID TESTING AS CASES DETECTED

0

Residents of two HDB blocks in Ang Mo Kio and Clementi will be required to undergo COVID-19 testing after 20 infections were detected there, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Saturday (Jul 24).

There are a total of eight cases detected in four households at Block 456 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, while there are 12 cases deteced in four other households at Block 340 Clementi Avenue 5.

Most of the cases detected there have been linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster, said MOH, adding that epidemiological investigations are ongoing.

The testing is done specially to uncover undetected community infection cases.

However, according to MOH, testing for those who had tested negative from 20 July 2021 onwards would be optional.

For those who live or work at Block 456 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, testing will be conducted at the pavilion at Block 460A Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 on Jul 25 and 26, between 9am and 4pm.

For residents of Block 340 Clementi Avenue 5, testing will be done at the void deck on Jul 25, also between 9am and 4pm.

Residents are reminded that they are required to bring their NRIC for identification, MOH said. More information has been provided to residents through leaflets and SMS.

The ministry urged residents to keep to their appointment time and monitor their health closely, as well as to consult a doctor if they feel unwell.

There will be voluntary COVID-19 tests for those who visited both blocks between Jul 9 and 23, as well as those who had interacted with residents during this period

Those who visited the Ang Mo Kio block can get tested at designated regional screening centres from Jul 25 to 27, as well as at the pavilion at Block 460A Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 on Jul 26 and 27, between 9am and 4pm.

People who visited the Clementi block can also get also tested at designated regional screening centres on Jul 25 and 26.

MOH added that testing would be strictly by appointment only, and they strongly encourage these individuals to come forward for testing.

“Those who are still awaiting their test results are advised to minimise social interactions as much as possible,” it said.

“They should continue to monitor their health and seek immediate medical attention if they feel unwell.”

FOREIGN STUDENT ASHAMED OF SIM DEGREE, AVOIDS TELLING PEOPLE IF NECCESARY

A student has posted on FB about being ashamed of her SIM education and wonders if her peers think the same way.

She feels that the education from SIM will not be able to meet her lofty life goals and ambitions in terms of education and career.

Here is what she said:

“I don’t know whether some of you are ashamed that you guys are studying at SIM (To those of you that views education just as important as your parents and have sizable/lofty life goals and ambitions in terms of education and career/ GPA >= 3.00).

Honestly, I am ashamed that I am currently studying in SIM and I am ashamed to tell my friends and probably people that I meet in the future. My GPA is above 3.00 which I find it is respectable to an extent (not 1st rate peeps from 3.7 to 4.0).

With my GPA, I firmly believe that I can get into SIT (diff case for me as I am neither Singaporean or PR).

This has unfortunately become a deep rooted insecurity for myself. To the older asian generation (singapore context), SIM is viewed as where academic underachievers (fail O level/A level) enroll or those who don’t view education as a paramount importance.

I have heard people around me talk about this about 5 years ago.

I know, I know. The situation at SIM has improved recently with the establishment of connections to industries to provide students with internship opportunities to boost employability upon graduation.”

Here is what he posted:

“I was curious how girls feel like when their boyfriend or husband ask them to give bl*wj*bs. So I tried my own sperm and gosh I found it repulsive and vomited. I swear that I will never ask my newly found girlfriend to give me BJs. I will not ask her to do something that is repulsive and disgusting.”

“I simply cant understand other guys who force their girlfriends or wives to do this disgusting thing. Maybe they should try their own sperm first before see if they like it. Really gross until I have nightmare even of my own sperm. Its killed my sexuality now!”
