GUY HAD DREAM DATE BUT ASKS HER TO SPLIT THE BILL

0

A guy shared a story of how he went out for a date with the girl of his dreams but made a big mistake asking her to split the bill when the waiter handed the bill over.

The bill $10 and it got his dream date sitting there in a shock with stunned silence.

Here is the story

“This happened several years ago. I really don’t think about it much anymore but I figured I might as well share at this point.

I was introduced to my friend’s cousin who just so happened to be the most beautiful person I had ever seen. If I remember correctly, the first few times I saw her I got a nosebleed. No coincidence… Something about her I guess? Lol… The nosebleed wasn’t that bad though, but I would have to keep tissues around just in case I sneezed and made a mess… Didn’t happen… phew.

But this girl actually liked me. What a confidence booster! The thing is… I’ve always been horrible at asking girls out. The only chances I had were when I happened to see her after my friend invited her and his sister over to hang out. Didn’t happen much. But when it did, I still didn’t make any moves. I eventually asked his sister for her number. And she wanted to go out with me!

I made plans to go to the zoo. And… it wasn’t all that bad. We had some things in common, not a whole lot, but some. Not the best chemistry, honestly I tried… But eventually we ran out of things to look at and do, so she wanted to go get food or grab a drink.

Rule #1: ALWAYS have a backup plan

I didn’t know where to go. But we made a quick decision to get some wine at this restaurant nearby. We head over, I open the door for her in an awkward fashion, go to our seats and just order two glasses of wine.

Now, trust me when I say this… I am horrible with wine. Or at least I used to be. At the time I didn’t drink it very often so I wouldn’t know when to stop drinking it. It would hit me differently than beer. Anyways, our conversation started out pretty good… then ok… then, well, you get what I mean. It wasn’t working out that well. Especially when she asked me if I liked pineapple on pizza and I said no. I think she put her head down in shame.

After that I noticed that she kinda lost interest. She was looking at her phone a lot, while I was trying to initiate conversation. Rude? A little, but I got the point after awhile.

I ask for the bill. The waiter comes back around with the bill. I ask her if she wanted to split the bill. She insisted to split it. I probably should have paid the bill. It was just two glasses of wine. At the same time, in the back of my head, I knew it wouldn’t work out anyways. So I told the waiter that we’ll like to split the bill.

She sat there just looking at me with an awkward silence. It must have gone on for at least 10-15 seconds. What is going on? Is this a dream? I looked around to see if anyone else was looking at me like in Inception. Nope. It was real… I had no idea what was going on. I repeated, can we split the bill?

I already had my credit card in my hand and she took the card from my hand and handed it to the waiter. I was embarrassed from there on out.

So that’s it, no second date. Haven’t seen her much since. Yeah I should’ve just paid the whole bill. It was like $10 some more because of happy hour.

Rule #2: Insist to pay the bill on a first date, it’s not a big deal”

GUY THOUGHT HE HAD CHANCE WITH GIRL WHO IS JUST FRIENDLY

0

A guy shared a story of how he was working as a photographer for a sports event a few years back and got to know this girl who was also working in the stadium.

He shares that he was single at that time and the guy was very chummy with him which led him thinking that he had a chance.

He then plucked out the courage to ask her out only to find out that she was just being her friendly self with him just like she would be with anyone.

Here is the story

“I get to work as a sports photographer for an ongoing sports event many years back.

Matchday 1 : There’s this girl, a volunteer making sure everything is in place. She’s standing next to where I was photographing. After a little “hi-hello”, we talk at the half time and I tell her about the organisation I work with. A nice little conversation and then the night ends.

A day before matchday 2 : We meet again near the venue as we had some work to do, another “hi-hello” and a nice little conversation. This time we exchange Instagram IDs and vibe over how we both have broken phones.

Matchday 2 : We meet again at the same place, but I’ve to shoot some videos. So, I have a rushed conversation with her. Me & my team had to leave early cause the match got cancelled.

At this point it’s become an inside joke in my team that “this is my stadium girlfriend”

Later we exchange phone numbers over Instagram.

We have 2 nice little conversations over text, and my brain is like : Hmm, interesting girl. It’ll be nice to get to know her and maybe ask her out.

Me to myself : okay, you have 4 more matchdays to go. Take it slow, she’s probably just being friendly. Don’t rush in based on the inside jokes. Maybe you can try to flirt a little, either way only ask her out on the last match day!

Matchday 3 : Cancelled.

Me happily texting her for another nice little conversation.

Me : I should ask her for a hang out.

My brain : You’d be rushing in! BAD IDEA.

Me : Ahaaa, I’ll just casually slide it through

Me over text : I think, you are an interesting person… and it’ll be nice to get to know you! Wanna hang out some day?

Instant Regret. And before I could unsend this message, she’s already seen it.

Her : Sorry if you got any wrong ideas

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Now, I have 3 more matchdays to go and I guess it’ll be awkward.

Should’ve taken it slow and only asked her out on the last day, wouldn’t have had to worry about the awkward moments.

Now I’m out here with the song lyrics, “wise men say, only fools rush in” playing on back of my head.

I hope I manage to play it cool, for the rest of the matchdays.”

WIFE ASKED HUSBAND IF NEEDED ‘HELP’, DIDN’T REALISE IT IS SON

0

A lady shared a story of how she came back home one day and thought that it was her husband alone at the sofa having some ‘private’ moments and jokingly asked from the back if he needed help only to find out that it is her son instead.

Here is the story

“I am married to my husband and together we have two children. Our daughter K and our son D.

K has lived away from home for the last year, and her and D have grown apart in that time. My husband and I decided to have D go spend the weekend with K, and Thursday night we dropped him off with her.

Fast forward to Saturday evening, I come home from work, thinking I’m home alone. I open the door into my living room and my husband is watching a movie and he’s clearly having some ‘private’ time.

Out of shock, I instantly shut the door and laugh to myself. I knock on the door and ask “Let me know if you need a hand-or a mouth-in there.” I get no response so I go into my room, thinking nothing of it. My husband and I have an understanding that sometimes we need some private moments just by ourselves, so I left him be.

It wasn’t until I watched my husband walk through our front door that I realised my mistake.

I went out of my room to see my son on the sofa instead. K and him had gotten into a fight and she took him home a day early. He does not look pleased to see me. I begin laughing my head off, and I explain and apologize to D, and I leave him alone.

It’s been almost a week now and he’s still in shock by the whole thing, but my husband and I think it is hilarious.

I also asked my skinny husband to put on some weight, so I don’t get the two of them confused again.”

GIRL’S BROTHER GETS B’DAY GIFTS, WHILE HER B’DAY PARENTS DON’T CARE

0

A girl shared how she hates her brother for all the attention he is getting – he gets surprises and gifts for his birthday while for her own birthday, she had to bake her own cake and make her own happy birthday video.

Here is the story:

It’s my brother’s birthday and I am bitter, resentful, and jealous of the attention he is getting.

I just finished decorating the house for my younger brother’s birthday party and I baked a cake for him, ordered some good food for the party… and my parents have a surprise gift for him…

None of this is ever done for me.

It feels pathetic that I make my own “Happy Birthday videos” every year so that mom and dad can post it on Facebook.

It feels pathetic that I bake my own birthday cakes. I baked my own “congratulations!” cake when I graduated. I bake cakes for everyone, someone please bake a cake for me just once in my life PLEASE?!

It feels pathetic that I never get birthday gifts (or any gifts or surprises for that matter, cuz gifts are childish and I am too old for them. I was BORN TOO OLD FOR EVERYTHING.)

I’ve never had an “actual” birthday party…. and it’s just sad. I was too old for birthdays since I was 5. And my brother still isn’t, even now that he is 15.

I’ve been treated like an adult, my whole life while he has been pampered and baby-ied. I hate being the older sibling.

And I can never say this out loud because I don’t want anyone to find out how bitter I am about all of this.

Editor’s note: I feel like your resentment is directed at the wrong person(s).

STUDENT EDITED RESULTS TO BAD GRADES AND SENT TO HER MUM

0

A girl shared a story of how she once decided to fool her mother by editing the grades on her report card to a lousy grade and showing it to her.

She said that she did so because her mother always had high expectations of her and she never failed so she wanted to see how her mother will react if she really failed her expectations for once.

Here is the story

“Okay, so I am a pretty good student (despite me falling asleep in class everyday) I study and and do all of my homework to the fullest extent.

My grades reflected this as I got nothing below a 95% when my teacher gave me my report card.

I also like pulling pranks (although I’m not very good at it).

After showing my dad my report card, I got the idea to edit a picture of the grades and make them appear worse than they actually were and send them to my mom.

I had wanted to see how she would have reacted because at the current moment, I had never failed them and I thought it would be fun to see how different will they be.

BAD IDEA. Thinking about it now, it probably wasn’t a good idea because my parents are strict. strict as in “you should be able to get 90’s with ease” and I edited my grades to 50%’s and 40%’s.

A few minutes after I sent the edited image of my report card to my mom I got a call from her and she was shocked beyond words.

I was silent too because I didn’t know what to say. I eventually explained that I had edited the photo as a prank and my actual grades were much better.

I sent her a photo of my actual grades and she calmed down.

I now know to never do that again.”

CREEPY OLD MAN KEEPS STARING AT MOTHER & CHILD THROUGH WINDOW

0

I’m 13 years old and I currently live with my mum as my dad is in another country. This creepy old man has been loitering around our floor and staring at us through our window. He lives 2 floors below us. I saw him yesterday while eating, he was staring from afar so we didn’t get any footage (we have a camera installed in front of our house) he was creeping his head through a pillar.

After I saw him, he immediately took the elevator and went back to his floor. I told my mum to tell the police but she said there was no point.

This wasn’t the first time, it’s been several and probably even more since we don’t always notice it. Sometimes he would stand around the staircase opposite the elevator so when we got out of it he could stare at us.

This has been happening for years. A long time ago when we haven’t installed the cameras he was right outside our house and slowly crept his head towards our window. My mum and dad saw it, he immediately left and my dad went to chase after him but lost him.

We often run into him in the elevator because we live in the same block, and he’d stare at us from head to toe. My mum yelled and scolded him many times, but after all these years he’s still doing the same.

We assume he has a family as my mum saw him sending a kid to school. I don’t know what he wants, he just stares at us and it makes me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. My neighbors don’t know about this. We don’t have any evidence of him loitering around our area but i assume the cctv in the elevator would have footage of him.

Should I report him to the police? Or is there something else I could do about it? For example telling my relatives/teachers about it, threatening him with words or weapons, or maybe try scaring him with disturbing images? I just need a way for him to stop and leave us alone.

Netizens’ comments

  • Please don’t do any of the things you mentioned, they are terrible ideas and you may even get yourself hurt. Just call the police and let them handle it. Do you know which unit he lives in? Get the cops to have a word with him, do not engage him yourself.
  • Please do not approach or confront the guy. Try to just get evidence and report him to the police
  • Just report it to the police and let them handle it. Under no circumstance should you ever confront the person, unless the person comes to you first and there’s no other way out.

ATTENTION SEEKING GF WANTS TO WEAR “OFFENSIVE” DRESS TO WEDDING

0

My girlfriend “Nat” has a very particular sense of style. Picture Harley Finkle from wizards of Waverly place, you will get the idea. Don’t get me wrong, I never had a problem with that!

In fact, I love the way she dresses because she loves to do so, and I am happy if she is happy. The thing is, sometimes she likes to incorporate memes into her clothes. No problem. It’s cute. But now she wants to wear a dress inspired by the meme “gay rat wedding”.

To my friend’s wedding. He and his fiancé are not gay but he has a brother who is gay. I told her, maybe that is not really appropriate? The dress in question would be full of little stuffed rats, pride flags and a big “I SUPPORT GAY RATS” on the front.

My friend is not a big fan of the way my GF dresses and I think this dress may cause a certain uproar at the wedding. Now, nat is upset with me and claiming that I am “throwing water in her flame of creativity”.

The wedding is next month, so she has plenty of time to think about another thing to wear. Should I just let her go with the dress? Am I the bad guy in this situation?

Here are what netizens think:

  • That’s very inappropriate for a wedding. Not to mention, kinda insulting.
  • It’s their day, the newlyweds should be the center of attention. And they explicitly said they doesn’t like this. Why would you do something the grooms disapprove of at their wedding? Either you want attention, or you want to piss off the grooms.
  • Yes, the main thing I was thinking is she sounds like she can’t stand attention being anywhere but on her. She would be exhausting.
  • Being creative is fantastic, and I have a great love of creative clothing that goes back for more years than the Internet has been popular.

STEPMOTHER HATES BEING THE PARENT OF A DISABLED CHILD, NOT EASY

0

A woman shared how she hates being the parent of a disabled child from her husband’s previous marriage.

Here is the story:

My son is 16, and he has both a genetic disorder and autism. Maturity-wise, he’s maybe half his age. I hate my life. I hate it so much.

There’s never a day where it’s easy. You don’t get to have the same payoffs as other parents, where you experience their fun milestones in life. There no real future to plan for. There isn’t any hope that he’ll be able to live independently.

I’ve been raising my son since he was 4. His bio mom has almost nothing to do with him. She doesn’t pay child support or her half of his medical bills, and she never bothers to ask how he’s doing medically or in school. I’ve had to make so many sacrifices for a child that isn’t mine. My husband is wonderful and we have a great relationship. He is equally as miserable.

Every day is like whack a mole with his issues. We have to micromanage everything because he’s not capable of keeping track of anything on his own. He is charming in his own way, and that leads a lot of people to believe he’s capable of a lot more than he is, which means even more work for us. I am so tired of having to keep track of every school assignment. Of making sure he takes his medicine 3x a day. He’s been taking meds 3x a day since he was three and he still can’t remember to take it on his own. We have to make sure he puts on clean clothes, brushes his teeth, etc because he won’t do any of that himself. We have to ban food from his room because he will seriously sleep in food waste. He still can barely tie his shoes, which makes others at school uncomfortable because he doesn’t understand boundaries, on and on.

We have zero support system. It’s hard enough to make friends as an adult, but add in a child with severe disabilities? Our families live very away. My husband’s parents have never once showed any interest in having their grandson visit without us present. They don’t even offer to let us go out to dinner alone. The only break we ever have is while he’s at school. The last time we had any time away from our child was almost three years ago.

It’s absolutely miserable, who knows if we’ll ever be able to have him live outside of the house. It never ends. I am tired and at the end of my rope and I hate that every morning I wake up and wish I hadn’t.

WIFE “DIE DIE” WANTS NAME SON AFTER KOREAN BOYBAND MEMBER

0

My wife (32F) and I are expecting our first bundle of joy. We’re absolutely thrilled. I personally can’t wait to be a dad. The due date is April 21st. We’re from Ireland.

My wife has been a huge fan of the South Korean boy band Shinee since 2008. Their music apparently got her through a lot of tough times. Jong-hyun was a member of this group; he, unfortunately, passed away in 2017. From what I’ve read online about him he seems to have been an amazing guy. My wife was devastated when she found out about his death and told me that when we’ll have a kid and if it’s a boy she’s going to name him Jong-hyun in his honour. At the time I didn’t really take her seriously.

The time has come though and she’s VERY serious about it. She wasn’t joking. She even picked out the meaning ’cause it actually depends on the Chinese (Hanja) characters you use: 宗 (jong) – lineage, ancestry; ancestor, clan & 賢 (Hyeon) – virtuous, worthy, good; able.

She speaks Korean, I don’t.

I love how the name sounds, the nickname Jjong and the meaning but the issue is we’re both 100% White. I told her that I don’t think this is appropriate because we have no Korean blood in us and she said that’s not a problem since it’s cultural appreciation and not appropriation. She told me she doesn’t wanna compromise when it comes to the first name and I can just pick whatever middle name I want and she’s going to be okay with it.

She said that this name means too much for her to give up on it (her favorite singer / artist, born in the same year as her, our son is gonna be born in the same month as him, etc.).

GUY SLEPT WITH BROTHER’S WIFE, HIS NEPHEW IS ACTUALLY HIS SON

0

A guy shared how his brother’s child is actually his after he slept with his brother’s wife.

Here is the story:

I’ve never told anyone about this, but I fathered a child with my brother’s wife.

About 8 years ago, my brother got married. She was a really nice girl and we hit it off immediately. It started out as just a friendly relationship.

I’d bring whoever I was dating at the time on double dates with her and my brother. But the more I got to know her, the more I started falling for her.

That, as you could probably guess, evolved into a romantic relationship. Or first intimate encounter was when we were on a trip with my parents. Not everyone could fit in one car, so my brother went with our parents and his wife rode with me.

Along the way, we stopped and had a quickie. We told him we stopped at a convenience store to get some water and he believed it.

Over the next year we hooked up often. My brother has a job that requires him to be at work all the time, so sometimes we would get together every day of the week. Then she got pregnant.

I was the first person she told since she said she was certain it was mine. When she told my brother about being pregnant, he just assumed it was his, even though they didn’t sleep together very frequently.

I guess he just couldn’t imagine her cheating, so, in his mind, it had to be his. When the baby was born I was there in the hospital.

It felt weird knowing that it was my baby that was being born, and the only people that knew it were the mother and me. I also felt really bad because of how proud my brother was to be a dad.

I hooked up with his wife a few more times after that, but with the baby, our relationship started to fizzle out. I ended up moving overseas for work, and I’m glad because I couldn’t bear to watch my brother raising my son.
