A guy shared a story of how he once told a friend that he saw another of their friend’s sister’s ‘oyster’ by accident while chilling together at his house.

“This incident happened a few years ago and it is still stuck in my mind even until today.

I was at a friend’s house, lets call this friend V. I was chilling on the sofa after doing some work together and his sister, lets call her A, comes out of her room and sits down next to me.

A is 4 years older than me and V.

She was wearing a sports top with FBT shorts as she had just finished her workout and I was watching TV while she was looking at her phone.

She suddenly yelled out something and I looked at her phone but I accidentally saw half of her ‘oyster’ as it was exposed because of her sitting position which made the shorts pulled up.

I got a shock as this was the first time that I saw one in real life, we were only 18 at that point of time.

I stood up and excused myself to get a glass of water in the kitchen to calm myself down.

The next day I told my friend, lets call him J about the incident and he told V.

V was so angry and he called me immediately to give me a piece of his mind and I apologised profusely and explained that it was an accident.

Months passed and he had forgiven me by that time and I still hangout at his place but every time I see his sister, I get reminded of what happened months back and still feel embarrassed.”

My bf broke up with me about a week ago. He had been struggling for quite a while with some communication issues with me that he couldn’t bring himself to share with me. I was totally ignorant that there was anything wrong, and I thought our relationship was stronger than ever.

When we had a petty argument the other day, that was just the last straw for him and he told me he wanted to break up.

I was shocked and thought he was saying that in anger, but he isn’t the kind to make empty threats, in the time we were together, he never used break up as a threat.

I met up with him and we thrashed things out. Only when we did, when he started explaining, that I finally understood from his point of view. A lot of our past fights were because I am very sensitive about words and take things out of context to start a fight.

After all our fights, it started to weigh him down more and more and he felt he couldn’t even talk to me normally anymore.

I broke down, asking why he couldn’t have brought this up instead of letting it kill him slowly until he could no longer take it and breaking up was his only solution.

I pleaded for a chance to try and fix things but he was firm about his decision.

I have cried every day since then. I regret that ridiculously petty fight that hit his breaking point, I hate myself for being so childish and stupid. Now I’ve lost him forever. Every day now is a blur.

I know this is what a break up feels like, but when it comes so suddenly when you thought everything was going well, it knocks the wind out of you and makes you question everything. All the times we had leading up to that day were filled with happy memories.

There are so many things I want to say to him but I’ll never get the chance to. I’m sorry. I know you said you’ve already forgiven me, but I want to apologise again.

I’m sorry I ruined you so much that breaking up was your only escape. The more I reflect on this, the more I realise I was a huge part of the problem.

I wish I had been able to pick up on this, then I could have done something about it before we reached the point of no return.

CONDO MCST URGED TO ENFORCE SAFE MANAGEMENT MEASURES BEFORE CNY

In a circular written by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore (BCA) today (26 Jan), condominium management teams (MCSTs) have been encouraged by authorities to set up safe management measures before the Chinese New Year festive period begins.

This is in preparation of the expected higher amount of visitations in these private premises.

Measures urged to be taken

These measures include only allowing up to five visitors to register and enter the premises for visitation per household per day and limiting the gatherings to five.

BCA added that MCSTs should hold proper documentation of the identities of these visitors.

Posters and notices are highly recommended by BCA to be put up in prominent and visible places in the premises so that residents and visitors can see them and follow the rules.

They added that performances by lion dance troupes which involve the traditional ‘cai qing’ are prohibited to take place in the premises in common areas and even inside the private residential units.

What is Cai Qing

Cai Qing is a literally translate to ‘plucking greens’ and it is a traditional part of a lion dance performance which typically involves a show put up by the lion dance troupe where the performers under the lion will tie a red packet to a bunch of vegetables as part of the performance and then proceed to tear the vegetables up and throw them all over the place.

This is believed to bring good luck and fortune to the household and their members and visitors who witness the show.

Seeks cooperation to fight the pandemic

The BCA ended its circular by saying that it seeks the cooperation of all MCSTs of the private residential condominiums in Singapore to put necessary measures in place and to enforce them when needed so that Singapore can progress in the fight against the virus.

Everyone is also expected to stay vigilant and disciplined.

Is it normal for helpers in singapore to not own a handphone and not have access to internet/wifi?

I have a close friend who recently gave birth and got a helper to help her with the baby. She told me that the helper is not allowed to have a mobile phone, nor is she allowed to have any access to internet and wifi.

I also used to intern for a family business who had a helper, and that helper also was not allowed to own a handphone.

Of course in the end she keeps a handphone in secret, cause come on.. who can survive without a phone in today’s day and age? How are they going to keep in touch with their family?

I wonder if this is normal, I personally find it ridiculous.

A video recently emerged on social media showing a ‘Pontianak’ standing at the side of the road near a traffic junction under a traffic sign.

The video was apparently captured at Jurong West St 61 and according to the audio of the man speaking in the video, the time was around 12 midnight when it happened.

Cyclist can be seen in the footage cycling pass the ‘Pontianak’ and not looking at it as if it is invisible and cannot be seen.

All in all, it appears to be someone having fun and playing a prank though.

2 S’POREANS ARRESTED, 500 CARTONS OF CONTRABAND CIGARETTES SEIZED

The Singapore Customs put out a media release earlier today saying that they have arrested 2 Singaporean men and seized 500 cartons of duty unpaid cigarettes.

The two men have also been charged in court earlier today with offences relating to about $73,430 of levies being evaded.

Here is the statement

Singapore Customs arrested two male Singaporeans, aged 41 and 60, and seized 500 cartons of duty-unpaid cigarettes.

Case information

Singapore Customs conducted an operation at an industrial building in the vicinity of Eunos Avenue 3 on 23 January 2022.

Officers kept watch of an industrial unit in the building that was suspected to be used for storing duty-unpaid cigarettes.

After two men were seen entering the unit, officers declared office and raided the unit. They found a total of 500 cartons of duty-unpaid cigarettes, packed in canvas bags, stored inside the unit.

The total duty and Goods and Services tax (GST) evaded amounted to $68,320 and $5,110 respectively. The two men were charged in court on 25 January 2022.

Buying, selling, conveying, delivering, storing, keeping, possessing or dealing with duty-unpaid goods are serious offences under the Customs Act and the GST Act. Offenders can be fined up to 40 times the amount of duty and GST evaded and/or jailed for up to six years.
