INDIAN WORKER JAILED AFTER LEAVING SGH TO GO AIRPORT & HOPING TO RETURN TO INDIA

26-year-old foreign worker Balachandran Parthiban was told to wait in Singapore General Hospital(SGH) for his swab test results. He left for the airport shortly after intending to fly back to India.

He was later arrested by the Police and tested positive for Covid-19.

How he got caught

Balachandran was a resident of the Jurong Penjuru dormitory, On May 23, he reported sick for fever and sore throat. He was then taken to SGH for a swab test at about 12.45 PM.

After he did his swab test he was told to wait in SGH for his results, he ran off at about 5.35 PM and headed to Changi Airport. His swab test results later came back positive.

At Changi Airport, he tried to buy a ticket back to India but failed to do so. The Police found him loitering at Terminal 1 and send him back to SGH
