MAID DRAWS $6,000 FROM SICK ELDERLY MAN’S ACCOUNT WITH ATM CARD

A maid was caught using the employer’s father’s ATM card to make illegal ATM withdrawals.

Patmawati Daun Kuri an Indonesian maid was employed to take care of a 79-year-old elderly man who is undergoing dialysis. She was trusted to take care of the elderly man which includes bringing him to the hospital for treatments.

In a span of around 6 months, the elderly man would often instruct the maid to take money from his wallet to buy some breakfast.

But she took the opportunity to not just take the cash but also the man’s POSB ATM card.

The maid used the man’s card and draw a total of SGD$6,000 on twelve occasions, little did she expect that her face was caught on the ATM’s CCTV.

The elderly man later realized that there was money missing from his account and told his daughter to make a Police report.

The maid initially denied the allegations and said that she did not take the money until the evidence was displayed in her face.

The maid then pleaded guilty but the prosecutor stated that the maids plead of guilty should not affect the sentence as she denied all allegations until it is proven.

The maid was eventually jailed for 4 months.

Although I do know and am accepting of him watching, I can’t help but feel a little insecure about us because he watches way more than I expected.

I do initiate and am very receptive of his advances.

O-LEVEL RESULTS TO BE RELEASED ON 12 JAN, IN STUDENTS’ RESPECTIVE CLASSROOM

The 2021 Singapore-Cambridge Ordinary level (O-Level) exam results will be released on 12 January at 2pm, and the students will be collecting their results in their classrooms.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) said in a press release on 5 January that the students are expected to observe the Safe Management Measures (SMMs) that will be put in place.

Here is the statement:

1. The results of the 2021 Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O-Level) examination will be released on 12 January 2022, 2.00pm.

Results Release for School Candidates

2. Arrangements have been made for school candidates to receive their results from their secondary schools in their respective classrooms from 2.00pm on 12 January 2022. Only school candidates collecting their results will be allowed into the school premises, and they will be expected to observe the Safe Management Measures (SMMs) in place.

3. School candidates issued with the Ministry of Health’s Health Risk Warning will be allowed to collect their results in person if they test negative using the Antigen Rapid Test (ART) on the day of the results release before going to school. School candidates who are unwell or are required to self-isolate due to a positive COVID-19 test result should not return to school to collect their results. These students may check their results online via Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board’s (SEAB) Candidates Portal at www.seab.gov.sg from 2.45pm on 12 January 2022. School candidates who are eligible for Singpass can use their Singpass account to access SEAB’s Candidates Portal. School candidates who are International Students will receive their system-generated username via email from 7 January 2022. SEAB’s Candidates Portal will be accessible from 12 to 26 January 2022.

4. School candidates who are unable to collect their results in person should inform their schools and can appoint a proxy to collect a physical copy of their results on their behalf. Proxies are required to produce the relevant documents for the school’s verification when collecting the results. School candidates may contact their schools for assistance if they are unable to appoint a proxy, or if they have not received their system-generated username for SEAB’s Candidates Portal.

FIVE ELDERLY S’POREANS ARRESTED AFTER 1KG OF HEROIN FOUND IN COFFEE PACKS

A total of 5 Singaporeans all in their 60s were arrested on 5 January by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) for suspected drug trafficking activities.

About 1kg of heroin was found hidden inside packets of coffee.

Drug bust

A 61-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning at Tampines Street 22, with CNB officers seizing 17 packets and one straw which contained about 132g of heroin.

He was brought to another unit at Choa Chu Kang where another 6g of heroin was seized.

That same morning, a follow-up operation was conducted at North Bridge Road and saw 3 men between the ages of 63 and 63 being arrested, along with a 65-year-old woman.

A total of 100 packets and 10 straws which contained about 794g of heroin were seized from the unit along with 5g of Ice.

The drugs were retrieved from a toilet bowl and in coffee packets inside the rubbish chute, with the estimated street value of the seized drugs worth about $66,000.

investigations are ongoing at the moment.

A scammer called a woman trying to get details of NRIC and passport number ends up getting scolded jialat.

The +92 number originated from Pakistan

Here is the dialogue:

Fake Police: My name is Michael John speaking, Im calling from the investigations department from the Singapore Police Force, you know Singapore Police Force department mdm?

Woman: Of Course, I know!

Fake Police: I just want to inform you that you are using your ATM card, your bank card has been bla bla bla (dono what he saying) authority of Singapore because your ATM is not update with the CID force, we need to update your ATM card right now.

Woman: What should I do?

Fake Police: First of all you have to give me your IC number please, can you give me your IC number?

Woman: 999

Fake Police: Sorry?

Woman: 999

Fake Police: This is what?

Woman: My IC number, 999

Fake Police: triple nine your IC number?

Fake Police: 999 your IC number, correct? really? Give me you passport number

Woman: My passport number is plus 65 999

Fake Police: your passport number?

Woman: Thats my passport number plus 65 999

The Expert Committee on Covid-19 Vaccination (EC19V) said that the booster dose should be taken at least about 5 months after the last dose of their primary vaccine course, or as soon as possible.

They explained that this will help to maintain good protection against Covid-19 and in a subsequent press release by MOH, they said that the booster dose shouldn’t be delayed more than 9 months after the vaccine course.

Booster shot crucial

The expert committee said that the booster shot is crucial for the continued protection against Covid-19.

Data have shown that vaccine protection against Covid-19 reduces from around 6 months after completion of the primary vaccination course.

The protection against Omicron is weaker for the primary vaccination as compared to the Delta variant, while boosters help to increase protection against severe illness from Omicron.

Booster needed for full vaccination

The committee also recommended that from 14 February onwards, persons will be considered as fully vaccinated only for 270 days (about 9 months) after the last dose of their primary vaccination.

This is provided they are above 18-years-old and have completed their primary vaccination, and are eligible for booster shots.

Additionally, for now; vaccinated persons who have recovered from Covid-19 are not required to get an additional booster shot.

A video emerged online showing an Audi speeding and beating a red light and almost crashing into a girl who was crossing the road.

Thankfully the girl stopped just in time and the car ended up narrowly missing her and sped away.

Driver arrested

The police said in a press release that they were alerted to “a video of a car who had purportedly failed to comply with the red-light signal at a pedestrian crossing along Lentor Avenue.”

They added that the car “almost collided into a pedestrian who was crossing the road at the time”.

The driver was then arrested on 4 January for dangerous driving, after his identity was established with followup investigations.

His driver’s license was also suspended immediately and investigations against him are underway.

The police urged all motorists to follow the traffic rules, they said:

“The Traffic Police will not hesitate to take firm action against motorists who choose to flout traffic laws and endanger the safety of other road users.”

The U.S Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC) recently reclassified their travel advisory alert for Singapore to “unknown” and advised their people against traveling here.

“We know our situation”

Minister of Health Ong Ye Kung has since responded and said that the U.S CDC is not aware of Singapore’s surveillance test numbers.

Ong said during a press conference yesterday that “to be clear, we know our situation very well.

The Ministry of Health is currently communicating with the U.S embassy and U.S CDC to provide them with the date necessary.

Community cases stable

Ong said that Singapore administers over 150,000 PCR tests weekly and that the positive rates for the tests are under 2 percent.

Additionally, Singapore also has about 145 wastewater testing stations across the country.

Ong said that only a very small handful are registering the presence of Covid-19 viral fragments and that the government is “sure that the incidents of Covid-19 in our community is currently low and stable.

Omicron in community

However, he also highlighted that the Omicron variant has already made its way into the community, with about 20 percent of local cases infected with it.

He urged Singaporeans to be prepared for when it starts multiplying quickly.

Ong further added that the Delta wave that hit Singapore late last year has substantially subsided and shows that Singapore has become more resilient and moving closer to living with it.

He said: “This is also the result of everyone’s efforts and our collective will. While cases rose exponentially in many parts of the world, we maintained our discipline, kept our masks on, stuck to our group sizes, got ourselves vaccinated and boosted, and kept our infection levels low.”

Just recently found out about this group and I find it quite interesting haha… I would to point out my observations about the Singaporean guys at Uni. Why do they seem so old? Our Orientation group photo looks quite like a family photo with many old men young ladies like me. I do wonder if it’s just the culture here or are Singaporean guys just plain rude and boring. I tried to introduce myself to a few (and make friends) but was rather turned away for no good reasons. Some of them have no good manners as well.

I have made friends with a few Singaporean ladies. They tell me upfront that (if given a chance) they would preferably consider dating foreigners over Singaporean guys, because of all these… What shall I do?
