MASERATI ALLEGEDLY CRASHED INTO PEDESTRIANS ON NEW YEAR, WOMAN LYING MOTIONLESS

A black Maserati allegedly plowed into a group of pedestrians who were about to cross the road at a traffic light junction, resulting in 3 pedestrians being taken to hospital.

The SCDF said that they were alerted to the accident on 1 January at the junction of Orchard Road and Grange Road at about 9.35 pm.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, a 22-year-old student Yang Yuxuan, who was an eyewitness said that she was passing by when she saw a woman who appeared to be in her 20s, lying motionless in the middle of the road.

The SCDF arrived and brought her into the ambulance via a stretcher.

The driver of the black Maserati appeared to be a man in his 30s and he was seen being accompanied by a woman and a boy.

Due to the accident, two of the road lanes were blocked for about half an hour.

At the time of writing, it is unclear what the conditions of the victims are.

My daughter is 18 and because I’m cautious and I’m aware that she’s becoming a young woman I’ve had all kinds of talks with her.

I came home a few nights ago and I noticed a bike on the side of the house that I didn’t recognize. I called for my daughter, nothing, I go upstairs, call for my daughter, and I hear “ f, my dad’s home”. Door to her room is closed, I knock, door’s locked, she opens, this boy comes out. She tells him to “ just go” and that she’ll call him later.

I ask her who he is, she tells me he’s nobody. I ask again, the same answer. I ask why the door was locked. She says she locked it on accident. I told her I heard her say “ f, my dad’s home” and what that was about. She claims the closing of the front door by me, scared them.

I told her I’d had enough of the lying and that since she wants to be with a guy she can stay outside and not in my home. Once she heard “ move out” she started telling me that even though the door was closed nothing was happening. She’s telling me I’m the most unfair father ever and that I’m “ not being fair”

Am I wrong? Could I have made it worse?

I know by letting her stay out she can have as many guys over as she wants, I was angry and did not know what to do.

“Okay basically I was scrolling through tinder and saw this pretty hot girl that was kinda catfish level beautiful (she had like 2 pics with cats on her bio), but wth just swipe for my chances la see how. We matched, talked abit, sure enough asked me if I liked cats, to which I answered that I’m pretty cool with them (I sometimes play with the strays under my block)

So we decide to meet up one day over lunch AND SHE WOULD NOT STOP TALKING ABOUT HER CATS, I would try my best to switch the convo over to something else but she would just keep finding ways to bring her cats into the conversation. Ok I get it she’s passionate about cats, ask her if she owns any, she whips out her phone and shows me and explains in detail around 10 different photos of her cats before the waiter interrupted us, iirc to refill our cups (but bless that waiter for saving me). To be fair this might belong in a TIFU, but I messed the next part up pretty bad.

As if all this wasn’t enough red flags, she asks me if I wanna come over to her place to play with her cats. Yeah ok I might’ve thought with my dick on this one a lil too hard. So I thought why the heck not, best case I get to play with her “cat”, worst case I have to play with her cats and then gtfo. Yeah when we get to her place, I kid you not there must’ve been at least 15-20 cats in the living room alone. She stayed in a landed so I can’t freaking imagine how many other cats this crazy hoarder must’ve had at home. There were a million questions in my mind like “wtf is this even legal?” Or “how tf does a family live like this?”

So I stayed for about an hour with the worst case scenario of being introduced to her many pet/adopted cats before making up a stupid excuse to leave.

Btw I don’t hate cats but I can’t see myself living with 15 cats, oh gosh imagine if things got frisky and you’d have like a dozen cats just watching you get it on, I can’t do that m8.”

A couple of days ago, my best friend (22M) confessed to me that he had a crush on me. I love this guy as my bestest friend ever but honestly, I have absolutely zero feelings for him. My only condition was, “look, this is most probably not gonna work out and this date doesn’t sound like the best idea to me but I’ll go since you insist so much. I want the date to be your treat though since you are the one who keeps pushing. You owe me some money from that takeout we shared last week anyway.”

He agreed and we went on the date last evening. Like I said, I don’t have feelings for him. I treated it like a friendly evening out with my best friend. Towards the end of the meal, he looked at me with this “well?” expression so I just decided to be honest again.

I was NOT paying hundreds of dollars for food I hadn’t touched.

I didn’t wanna create a scene in the restaurant so I didn’t bother arguing with him. I excused myself to the washroom and snuck out of the restaurant.

Now he’s been texting me since the morning about how I’m a gold digger who used him and broke his heart. I’m starting to doubt my actions and feel bad for hurting him because he was my best friend after all.

“My (26M) girlfriend (26F) and I have been living together for a while. For Christmas she wanted me to make her something so I decided to make a painting of us.

The only place for me to really work on this without her seeing is in our spare room, so I told her where it was and not to accidentally stumble upon it because it’s a surprise.

Skip to the week before Christmas, she casually mentioned that she couldn’t help herself and took a peek at the (unfinished) painting and thought it was so sweet and loves how it is turning out.

She said to not get mad, but I was. I wanted it to be a surprise and she knew that.

So I threw out the painting and am making her something else instead to surprise her. She is furious with me but I didn’t appreciate her going against my wishes and snooping.”

A resident who was awaiting the fireworks display located at Kembangan (Chai Chee) was caught with a surprise after parts of the firework display hit a nearby HDB block.

Kembangan-Chai Chee Facebook page said:

Dear residents,

We would like to give an update on an incident during the fireworks display at Ubi Ave at midnight on 1 January 2022.

During the fireworks display, a stray projectile had hit the external facade wall of a HDB block.

For everyone’s safety, our officers on site immediately instructed the fireworks display to be stopped.

We also visited the unit where the projectile had landed nearby, to make sure that the family was safe.

The family assured us that no one was hurt nor was there any damage to their home, as the projectile had only hit the outer facade wall near a window.

We thank the family for their understanding, as well as residents for their concern.

We are working closely with our vendor to ascertain what happened and how we can prevent this in future.

Fireworks display stopped after incident

The work display was stopped after the incident happen and luckily no one was hurt.

It was lucky that the windows were not opened.

The Police are aware of the incident and investigations are ongoing.

 As of 1 Jan 2022, 12 pm, the Ministry of Health has detected a total of 456 new cases of COVID-19 infection were detected.

1 person has passed away bringing the nation’s COVID-19 death toll to 829.

456 cases is the highest amount of cases since 15 December 2021.

Out of 456 cases, 196 of the cases are local transmissions.

Omicron variant

155 of the cases are Omicron variants which include 128 imported cases and 27 local.

At least 41% of the population has completed the booster shots.

According to the Ministry of Health, 50% of those who are working from home will be able to return to work in the office/workplace.

On December 2021, MOH published a media release stating that:

“With the implementation of the Workforce Vaccination Measures[4] starting from 1 January 2022, we are in a better position to ease the current default work from home (WFH) posture, and will allow 50% of those who can WFH to return to the office.   

16.  Currently, participants in work-related events are capped at 50 persons. We will raise this cap only for events where all participants remain masked and seated, at a safe distance from each other. All participants must also meet the VDS requirements. Social gatherings at the workplace will continue to be disallowed. More details will be provided separately.“

It is expected to see an increase in the number of people taking public transport from tomorrow onwards.

Unvaccinated employees risk losing their jobs

At least 52,000 employees in Singapore are still unvaccinated and MOM revealed that these individuals will not be allowed in workplaces from 15 Jan 2022 and they can be fired without notice.
