A netizen shared a bad experience after buying from a food stall located at Woodlands  888 Woodlands Drive 50, S(730888). He bought the food home only to realise he got “cat food”.
Here is the story:
My worse experience buying food.I asked the stall assistant to pack me dishes. Imagine she packed it in one plastic of 3 dishes which is sambal Tempe, toufu sambal and a fried fish in 1 plastic
. I never notice it while at their stall only realize it when I reach home. How can this stall assistant do this?
It is just like a cat’s food or wanna give animal to eat. Never in my life experience such things.
This stall is open 24hours and I bought this early morning yesterday 16/8/2021 around 2.15 am when I am back from work. Stall name is NURUL HIDAYAH at 888 Plaza Woodlands.
A video emerged online showing a guy walking around at an open carpark under a HDB block.
He was seen without his mask on his face and was being filmed by another man, who said: “Never wear mask right?”
The man then lunged forward and attacked the cameraman.
Here is the story:
“Dear Editors, I have a case of an assault on me this morning by an Indian national who lives in my hdb estate.
The story was he was found sitting on my lift landing smoking and also consuming some drinks. He was not masked up.
I told him politely to mask up. He refused. He then proceeded to the ground level and I was also headed out for breakfast at that time. He was now at my lift lobby at the ground floor smoking. That was fine. He then came up to me and started to yell at me and asked me who i was to tell him to mask up. To that I responded that I was a resident here and I felt safer if he had masked up.
He then walked around my blk without a mask! I told him, look mask up or I have to call the cops. He refused and still blatantly walked around the block without a mask. I then decided that I would film this dude to ensure others take note of him.
When I started to film him, he charged at me without provocation and hit me several times, I fell to the floor as it was a sudden attack and lost balance. He then began kicking me.
Another resident nearby intervened and warned him to stop. He has his fist up at this resident as well and the resident warned him if he tried anything he would lay a few blows at him too.
He then stopped and still didn’t mask up. The police finally arrived and guess what? They didn’t arrest him!! I showed them the footage but still they didn’t arrest him. The witness or the resident testified to his kicking me but the cops did not make any arrests.
So here’s my wise or 2 cents worth of question. Can I also do the same and walk around my neighbourhood without a mask? And claim i am a sovereign and above the law or don’t believe in one? Can I? Why are these people treated with so much respect and they blatantly break all the rules we follow?
Is this fair to me? Who gives anyone the right to assault when I was trying to tell him to do this for the sake of the community? Was I wrong? Do I deserve that beating this man gave me?
I was conveyed conscious to CGH but CGH didn’t even do a good job checking my injuries out? We have foreign doctors and nurses and my a&e doc was from Hong Kong! So what is the value of the fabric of society or what is the value of nationalism? Anymore?”

Following the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul, Afghanistan’s international airport was besieged by desperate Afghans attempting to flee Taliban control, resulting in numerous deaths.
According to a foreign diplomat monitoring evacuation aircraft out of the city, US marines fired bullets, while other Afghans died by hanging to the wheels of planes taking off.
At least five persons are said to have perished as a result of the incident.
Shocking footage from Kabul Airport shows several Afghans chasing down a US Air Force plane as it takes off, with some reportedly falling to their death while clinging to the plane.
A netizen has taken to social media to complain about the take up rates for the current BTO exercise.
He mentions that the HDB BTO for Hougang/Kovan 4 – room has been oversubscribed by more than 20 times.
He urges HDB to give aspiring homeowners a chance and pick up the pace as demand is clearly outstripping supply.
Given the current Covid-19 situation which makes it hard to get workers to start projects and the amount of land available, we think that it is almost impossible for supply to match with the demand.
Fake COVID-19 vaccination certificates offered on the dark web allow customers to travel internationally while claiming to be vaccinated. However, the dangers of forgeries go far beyond the legal ramifications.
The pattern of faked negative COVID-19 test results and fraudulent vaccination certificates provided on the Darknet and other hacker forums have been addressed in recent research by Check Point Research. People looking to board planes, traverse borders, attend events, and start new careers are said to be buying these.
The phoney documents pose a risk of spreading the infection across national borders. People who acquire and misuse false papers continue to put their lives and the lives of those around them in peril.
How they are made
These documents are based on a template drawn from a genuine vaccination certificate. The forgers then manufacture phoney vaccination documents using the purchasers’ information and send them to the buyers.
The purchasers can then use these forged certificates, whether in digital or physical form, to persuade authorities that they have been vaccinated, allowing them to travel internationally. False COVID-19 test results are also offered for around $25, in addition to fake immunization papers.
Following referrals from Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers at Changi Airfreight Centre, Air Cargo Command who discovered parcels containing duty-unpaid cigarettes, Singapore Customs conducted several operations targeting recipients of online shopping parcels between August 4 and 6, 2021.
Seven Singaporeans were arrested as a result of the operations, which took place at Woodlands, Tanglin Halt, Tampines, Pasir Ris, and Teban Gardens.
Singapore Customs officials discovered 3 cartons, 12 packets, and 53 sticks of duty-unpaid cigarettes, as well as 2 sticks of duty-unpaid cigars, during an operation in Tampines. The investigation is still going on.
Duty-free cigarettes were delivered to numerous receivers in innocuous-looking packages, just like any other online shopping order.
Investigations showed that all seven Singaporean males had reportedly ordered duty-free cigarettes from overseas dealers via a prominent online shopping platform. Three of the perpetrators have been charged in court, while the remaining four individuals are still being investigated.
A netizen posted photos of what remains after residents have finished offerings for the Hungry ghost festival.
The offerings were left behind by irresponsible residents who disposed of the packaging on the grass patch and even some of it flew into the drain nearby.
A netizen said: I am shocked. Singapore is known for all their campaigns to be clean and green. From the time I was in primary one, I remember those campaigns and the City was so clean. I am shocked to see this from Singaporeans.
Nothing wrong with burning just clean up after burning my two cents.
