“So recently I had an emotional episode and ranted to my bf about it. Instead of comforting me, he just spilled hard truths about my attitude and was insensitive about my current emotions.

Of course I will flare up more and start hurling all the vulgarities and nasty comments about him, and so he does that in retaliation.

I understand that he never dated anyone prior to our rs but we have dated for 2 years leh. He said he doesn’t know how to comfort or help me in any way, there’s nth he can do for me.

Furthermore, he’s super insecure about my past rs with exes in which he felt that I gave them more love and attention to them than him.

But the thing is, what happened back in the past just stays there as it is. I do love and put in effort in our rs despite my fears from past experiences.

I did reassure him numerous times through words and actions and I NEVER cheated or flirted with any guys during our rs.

Anyways, in the end, I broke up with him and just feel hurt and left alone to struggle.

With the problems on my plate. I’m not too sure if I should reconsider patching up with him again when im in a calm state of mind and re-evaluate his personality

1. is it really unreasonable to be mad at ur partner when he said he doesn’t know what to do and comfort u?

2. is it really inappropriate to keep bringing up ur partner’s past to make a comparison to ur current rs? because he keeps emphasizing the point that he receives lesser love and claimed that I missed my exes but the fact is I dont do that.

If so, then why would I agree to date him in the first place?

A woman shared that she is “childlike” and struggling to be professional and mature at work because that is not who she is.

Here is the story:

“I am in my late 20s(F) working in a Foreign bank. I considered myself a childlike and naive person. I tried to be professional and mature at work but I feel that is tough because that’s not me naturally. 

I feel that my seniors are experienced at work but somehow I cannot imagine myself like them in a few years’ time when I become a senior myself. 

How will my junior next time view or respect me? I am wondering is it because I am not working on something that I am passionate about? I am just a working zombie who works for salary? 

I don’t know what my is passion and what should I do with my life? I only know I wish to build a happy family and have kids. I think I am a simple-minded woman and not ambitious in my career. 

Recently I also broke up with my long-time boyfriend after finding out that he cheated so I am also feeling very sad. Don’t know what I should do with my life. 

Please give me some advice!”

MAN FELL INTO SEA & UNABLE TO SWIM BACK DUE TO UNDERCURRENT, SAVED BY PASSER-BY

A man fell off a breakwater and into the sea at East Coast Park on Christmas, and was unable to swim back due to the undercurrent.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, the man was celebrating Christmas with his wife and had climbed onto the breakwater in an attempt to enjoy the view.

He has purportedly fallen into the sea because it was too slippery.

His wife noticed that he hadn’t returned after a while and rushed over to check on him, and she then saw him in the sea and called the police for help.

The man knew how to swim but couldn’t swim back ashore because of the strong undercurrents.

A passer-by saw what happened and threw a lifebuoy to him, which the man then used to swim back safely onto the shore.

Thankfully the man wasn’t injured in the incident.

ERRANT DRIVERS CAUGHT FOR ILLEGAL MODIFICATIONS TO THEIR VEHICLES

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) shared an update about their enforcement operations against errant active mobility users and illegal car modifications.

Here is their statement in full:

“While most were preparing for their Christmas festivities, our enforcement officers pressed on with their operations over the last few days to ensure safety this holiday season.

Their focus was to deter errant active mobility users and illegal car modifications.

Our officers also joined hands with those from other agencies such as SPF, NParks and URA to carry out joint operations, including a major enforcement effort on Christmas Eve.

On LTA’s part, we detected a total of 215 vehicle-related offences (e.g. illegal modifications) and 111 active mobility offences.

These included illegal exhaust modifications, non-compliant window tinting and license plates, as well as riding motorised devices on footpaths.

We impounded 10 devices and 6 vehicles.

As we head into a new year, do be reminded to observe our regulations and guidelines. These have been put in place to ensure everyone’s safety. Do not let irresponsible behaviour mar the festive experience for yourself and others.

New regulation

Do note that from 1 Jan 2022, a new regulation will also kick in – cycling groups must not exceed the maximum length of 5 bicycles (or ten cyclists when riding two abreast where permitted). Errant on-road cyclists will also face a higher composition fine of $150 with effect from 1 Jan 2022.”

The incident happened at the open carpark at Elias Mall on 25 December at around 3pm.

Here is the story:

“The driver super rude, scolded me, why am I walking when he reversed the car.

Didn’t even apologize, now my waist started to be in pain, my hand got bruises and my neck also aching.”

“Please be safe everyone, regardless if it’s a green man or zebra crossing. If you are driving/riding be extra alert because you might kill someone..in this case, a baby.

Saw this dark blue van beat the red light & almost run over the baby in the stroller. Good thing the mother pull the stroller to the side in time.

Wanted to make a police report but the plate number was not captured. “

A netizen shared how his mother had her parking spot stolen by a man after waiting for 3 minutes, and the man then filmed her.

The incident happened on 23 December at around 11.50am, at the open carpark at near Nex.

Here is the story:

My mom was waiting at Nex’s open-air carpark when her lot got stolen. She queued for the lot for 3 minutes while the uncle was packing his van.

When she reversed to let the van exit comfortably, another car (SLM587M) cut in immediately and snatched the spot.

My mom winded down the window and told him that she was waiting for the lot, he suddenly took out his phone and took a video of my mother for no reason.

my mom moved on as she was not looking for a quarrel. He made my mom very uncomfortable as he was still recording my mom after the roundabout.

Very creepy and totally uncalled for. Hope the young man is proud of snatching the lot and making a 6x year old woman uncomfortable.

SBS BUS CRASHED INTO TREE, 6 SENT TO HOSPITAL & BUS CAPTAIN SUSPENDED

An SBS Transit bus crashed into a tree on the TPE heading towards SLE on Christmas morning, at the slip road towards KPE (MCE) exit.

A 40-year-old male bus captain and 5 passengers between the ages of 27 and 55 were conveyed to the hospital conscious.

The police said that they were alerted to the accident at about 10.58am and that police investigations are ongoing.

The SCDF said that they were alerted to the incident at about 11am and when they arrived at the scene, they found a person trapped in the bus driver’s seat.

He was extricated and rescued using hydraulic equipment before being sent to Changi General Hospital.

The 5 other passengers were sent to Sengkang General Hospital.

Suspended

The Senior Vice president of SBS Transit’s Corporate Communications, Tammy Tan, said that the bus cap[tain has been suspended from duty while police investigations were underway.

Tay added that their topmost priority is the well-being of the 5 stricken passengers.

BODY OF 68 Y.O MAN FOUND FLOATING IN MARINA BAY WATERS ON XMAS MORNING

The body of a 68-year-old man was found floating in the waters of Marina Bay on Christmas morning.

The SCDF said that they received a call for help at 6 Bayfront Avenue at about 8.50am on 25 December, and when they arrived, a body was seen floating in the water.

Rescuers from the SCDF then retrieved the body from the water and the man was then pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.

The police also said that they received a call for help at the Marina Promontory at about 8.25am and that based on preliminary investigations, no foul play was suspected.

At the time of writing, investigations are still ongoing.
