GRAB RIDERS RECEIVES FINE AFTER PARKING AT ORCHARD ROAD

A photo of a grab food rider getting fine was captured by a netizen.

However, many food delivery riders have complained about the difficulty to complete delivery within the grace period of the carpark.

Netizens who commented on the post said sometimes the unit to deliver might even request an exchange of visitor pass and the car parks grace periods are not enough.

Another point that is mentioned is that car park rates at Orchard road is notorious, and sometimes the delivery might even be lost. Typically a delivery rider makes between $5 to $7 dollars and the petrol is not exactly free.

Sometimes it becomes so bad that the parking rate could go from $1 to $3 for a 30min parking rate ending with the rider spending over 30 mins and making a dollar or next to nothing.

Is there something the authorities can do to help the riders, they are just trying to make a living, the pavement is wide enough for pedestrians and the bike that is already parked at the edge.

Compassion is something we need

Some netizens even belittle the job of riders but they did not realise these riders are the heroes who bring groceries and food to your home or office during the circuit breaker.

ACCIDENT AT LITTLE INDIAN, SCDF SAWS ROOF TO SAVE CASUALTIES

According to Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), a very serious accident occurred at around 2.50 AM, SCDF was alerted to a road traffic accident at a junction of Bukit Timah Road and Selegie Road(vicinity of Little Indian).

The accident involved a taxi and a sedan. Upon SCDF’s arrival, the taxi was found toppled onto its side against a concrete barricade. Two passengers were found trapped in the back seat of the taxi.

SCDF said that the operation to rescue them was complicated and rescuers from the SCDF’s elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) were sent to the scene to further assist.

Before DART’s arrival, SCDF personnel immediately stabilised the taxi using stepped chocks and blocks, together with a winch to secure its undercarriage to a fire engine. This is to avoid the vehicle from moving while the rescue was been made.

These were done to minimize movement of the wreckage during the rescue operation so as not to aggravate the precarious situation, including the condition of the trapped persons.

The taxi’s windscreen was also cut out to allow access to the casualties from the front

Upon DART’s arrival, the rescuers accessed the casualties through the taxi’s front windscreen and its rear hatch to secure and stabilize the casualties within the narrow confines of the wreckage.

Concurrently, another team of DART rescuers pried the taxi’s roof apart using hydraulic rescue equipment to create space for the casualties to be extricated safely. This delicate and complex rescue operation was successfully conducted in about an hour.

The two casualties were conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) with traumatic injuries.

The drivers of the taxi and sedan were found outside of their vehicles when SCDF arrived.

SCDF had conveyed these two persons to TTSH whilst the rescue operation was ongoing.

GUY HARASS GIRL FOR POSTING SELFIE, TELLS HER: “YOU DAMN CHEAP!”

A netizen shared how her friend is being harassed by a guy for posting a selfie on Instagram.

She added that they were just friends when things took a serious turn.

You can read her post in full below:

“My friend is being harassed by this guy named ANDY. They were just friends before things took a serious turn when she posted a selfie on ig recently.

So basically my friend posted a selfie a normal selfie (NOT even showing they slightest bit of cleavage literally just her face) this ANDY went CRAZY! He started to call her all sorts of nasty names like SLUT! He started to spam call her and message her just to get her to delete that selfie post.

Obviously my friend ignored him because she was so shocked at his reaction. All she dis was post a selfie! He went all out by threatening to quit his job on the spot to go to her house and go to her work place but of course keyboard warrior only. He went on and on spamming her for the whole day until she couldn’t take it so she just block him!

If you thought it was the end it hella was NOT! It’s been a month and ANDY starting harassing her friends starting to request her friends on ig and spamming them and then she forgot to block him on Facebook (she not so active there) so she’s just chatting with one of their mutual friend ANDY went to call this guy and told him to back off because they’re a COUPLE (He is being a delusional psycho) and so the mutual friend blocked my friend just because of ANDY!

This ANDY is seriously affecting my friends life. She just want to live her life casually talking to someone whom she forgot has a psycho mutual like ANDY can cause such drama she’s stressed out.

Because of ANDY calling her a slut she has been even more insecure about her appearance. He even got his girl friend to call her out. Hope you can help my girl friend out because she hope that this will serve as a warning to ANDY as she is considering to make a police report to get a restraining order against him.”
