APPOINTMENT WITH STARHUB? GET PIGS TO CLIMB TREE EASIER

Netizen facing continuous trouble trying to get Starhub to install fibre, indeed getting pigs to climb tree easier

Hi Starhub,

I have signed up for your home hub plus-fibre plan (ref ID: CR18073027805) and was informed that the installation will be done on 11 August 2018. However, no one turned up on during the installation day. I was informed by your CSO that there was no appointment scheduled when I called into your customer service hotline.

When I made a complaint, your sales team called me and told me that they will arrange for the installation to be done on 18 August 2018. I asked for a confirmation SMS to be sent to me but no SMS was sent to me.

When I called in again on 13 Aug to confirm on the appt for 18th Aug, I was dismayed when your CSO told me again that no appointment has been scheduled.

I had subsequently called in twice where your CSOs (Kelly and Nina) promised to get someone to contact me within 24 hours but no one called in the end.

Such service is really unacceptable and I have no choice but to feedback on FB (since calling in does not resolve my issue). Kindly assist to get someone to contact me asap.

DRIVER GETS FINE BECAUSE PASSENGER WITH CHILD BOOK NORMAL GRAB

Please pardon my standard of English, As I have tried my best to write in English…I would like to confess to the God of this church …..@ Prince Charles Cresent…

I am driving a taxi, On the 19 of Nov, afternoon 13.26 hrs, Received a just grab booking, was very happy as I was trying to get my incentive

For hitting the target. I have got wonderful of 100% acceptance rate and a 0 % cancellation rate. I’m a platinum driver during the particular time. When I arrived at the pickup point, I saw a pretty woman and a small kid ( two to three years old ) were standing at the entrance waiting for me.

For my understanding of the grab booking, as if rider’s with a kid under the height 1.35m, was advisable to book a grab family or a grab. I immediately told the lady it was a wrong booking and asked her to cancel and rebook a correct category of booking .

She did put in a note for me Stated that she have a kid with her , but I was too concentrate on my way to the destination and missed it .

I later found out that she has been rejected by a few drivers before me. This was the reason she put in a note for the driver’s to see and decide whether to take the booking.

Unfortunately, grab booking don’t work in the way as most drivers are fighting for the incentive, most drivers don’t have the choice to choose the booking appointed to drivers, as it controls by the acceptance rate of the booking. Most drivers will go for the incentive because the fare is rather low, as to sustain the profit as a driver ’s, we always try to take whatever booking come to us in order to get the incentive.

After informed the pretty lady to cancel the booking, I drove off. Because I don’t want any unhappiness to happen, usually riders always put the blame on drivers,y other driver’s cancan,u can’t. Please do remember you make a wrong booking doesn’t make you right if the driver’s do you a favour . The driver’s was taking a risk if there is a unfortunate accident happen , the drivers has to take the full responsibility if any claim .

After two weeks later , I received a phone call from LTA officer asking me to go for an interview on this incident .
I told the officer’s what exactly happened and never though that I’ll be charged under the LTA rules and regulations .

As I was driving a taxi and not a phv , I’ve no reason to reject any riders , but I’m confused in a way that this was a grab booking and I always follow the rules and regulations of grab ruling . And I do inform the rider of wrong booking .

I strongly believe the pretty lady was high educated and understand the rules and regulations of booking a ride through grab .

She know the reason why other drivers rejected her booking and yet keep trying to book a justgrab booking with kids , was that because her stupidity and selfishness make her lose the righteous of being a human being , and make other suffer ….?????

Throughout my 20 years of diving a taxi on the road , I do help alot of riders with difficulty to pay in full fare , it always give and take . And sometimes a free ride for the rider .
LTA fine me three hundred dollars and six demerit point under TDVL . That meant suspension of two weeks of driving .

I have always serve riders with pride and dignity , with the basic SOP as a taxi driver’s myself . I make a honest and decent living throughout my taxi life .
I’m making an appeal to LTA , if the appeal fail , I decided not to pay the fine as I think it unjustified as my case.

I’ll serve the jail term in order to let the pretty lady know what has she done to a taxi driver’s with her knowledge of education .

And I always believe in God , and in the God of will , as this is the obstacle that I need to bow down and I will .
I wanted to take this opportunity to thanks those who I know and those who I don’t even know giving the support to me throughout these saga .
Special thanks to Tommi Su and Timothy Chao , Brothers Benson Oh and William Lim and all those who No name on it .

I’m an optimistic person , tomorrow always a happy days for me ahead .
Thanks all for reading this long article of me. Appreciated .
May God bless all with love and caring …….

PEST CONTROLLER LAY TRAPS. CAT GOT STUCK IN GLUE

Two cats were found with an adhesive substance on their bodies today at Yishun Blk 394 and 397.

We were not able to trap the cat from 394 as he is terrified and has gone into hiding. We are still looking for him. The cat from 397 has been admitted to the vet for treatment.

We contacted Nee Soon & Sembawang town council to check if any glue traps were used in the area. They responded immediately and verified that they had not engaged pest control and that they do not use glue traps.

We don’t know who is doing this. It is possible that this is a deliberate act of cruelty on our community cats.

We would like to appeal to residents in the area to be vigilant and look out for our cats. We have reported the case to AVA. If you have information pertaining to this, please report it to AVA via its 24-hour hotline, 1800-476-1600.

If you would like to contribute to 397’s bills, please make a bank transfer to UOB savings 358-393-958-8 and PM us with the following:

MAN JAILED AFTER BUYING CONTRABAND CIGS FROM WECHAT

A Singaporean man who bought duty-unpaid cigarettes via WeChat was jailed and fined.

Fong Seng Fatt, 46, was sentenced by the State Courts on 13 August 2018 to two months’ imprisonment and a fine of $6,000. As Fong did not pay the court fine, he will serve another 24 days of default imprisonment.

Investigations revealed that Fong had been buying duty-unpaid cigarettes from a seller via WeChat for his own consumption. On 10 August 2018, he placed an order with the seller and was informed that the cigarettes would be delivered to him that evening. Fong’s plans were foiled by Singapore Customs officers. They saw Fong receiving a plastic bag containing two cartons and 60 packets of duty-unpaid cigarettes from a man at the void deck of an HDB block in Lorong 1 Toa Payoh and arrested both men. The officers conducted a search of Fong’s HDB flat and recovered another 23 cartons and 75 packets of duty-unpaid cigarettes. The other man is being dealt with separately.

A total of 25 cartons and 135 packets of duty-unpaid cigarettes were seized. The total duty and Goods and Services Tax (GST) evaded amounted to about $4,710 and $330 respectively.

Buying, selling, conveying, delivering, storing, keeping, having in possession or dealing in duty-unpaid goods are serious offences under the Customs Act and the GST Act. Offenders will be severely dealt with. They can be fined up to 40 times the amount of duty and GST evaded and/or jailed for up to six years.

WAH ICE CREAM WITH ALCOHOL ALSO CANNOT SELL AT NIGHT

Source: Mr Brown

“I think you will die of diabetes before you get drunk, eating tubs of rum and raisin. Siao one, this rule.”

Drinking in public is legal in Singapore, however, consumption of alcohol in a public space or non-licensed premise is restricted from 10.30pm to 7am after the 2013 Little India riot.

A permit will be required to consume alcohol during restricted hours in public places.

Netizens are poking fun: “This rule MUST be enforced. If not, workers will eat these after midnight and start rioting again.”
