HAIR SALON WANTS TO CHARGE MORE BECAUSE DISCOUNT APP TAKES A CUT

Dear friends.. Do share this if possible. 🙏🏻

Please bear with my long post..

My colleagues and I would like to share our horrid experience with Sharene Hair & Beauty Works and strongly discourage anyone from stepping into their unethical shop.

On the 23/01/18, my colleague called the salon to inform them of our interest for hair treatment and would like to do a booking for 3 slots for 26th Jan’18 evening.

We had each purchased a coupon voucher from Vaniday (Worth $150), and were unsure which treatment would be most suitable for our different hair types, we called in to Sharene Hair & Beauty Works before we add the service to cart and they advice to only select the booking after we go over on the day itself.

Upon arrival on 26th Jan’18, they happily invited us in as “Vaniday customers”. Both of us choose the service (treatment $95 and cut $25), we told the staff that we had an excess of $30 voucher and queried if there was anything we could do with that amount. The hairdresser suggested us to add scalp serum (Worth$30) in order for us to fully utilize our Voucher.

I completed the service earlier at 6.35pm and proceeded to enquire the Boss (Sharene) for my payment via the apps. To which, she suggested to have a private discussion on the payment outside the shop and the reason given was to avoid letting their regular customers know about Vaniday. They explained that Vaniday charged a commission for their services and that would cause them to earn lesser.

Shockingly, Sharene changed her tune and insisted for us to pay in cash instead of going through the apps. She then twisted her words and insisted that she had no idea that we were going to pay through Vaniday app. Obviously, we wanted to make the payment via the Apps since we have $150 coupon in our Vaniday account. She then raise her voice a little saying if we were to insist on going through Vaniday apps payment, she would have to increase the charges to cover her loss/commission given to Vaniday. After saying that, she then turn and walked back in to the shop rudely, leaving me and one of her staff outside to agree on the payment mode (Cash or card).

I was so angry, disappointed and at the same time feeling helpless. We had no choice but to make cash payment otherwise we could not leave the shop. Upon completion of payment, I told the cashier that this gonna be my 1st and the last time stepping in to the shop! (She even want me to apologies to her for saying this because her regular heard our conversation?? Like seriously??)

Do you think this is right and acceptable? What is the point for them promoting their business via apps yet not willing to pay Vaniday advertising fee? So are customers suppose to pay for their advertising fee?? And is this really the correct ways to treat/charge customer? I would like everyone to spread this experience we encountered. Do NOT bother to engage Sharene Hair & Beauty Works for any services!

IS ALIPAY SAFE TO USE SINCE DOES NOT REQUIRE APPROVAL OF MAS?

A while ago, there was a mad leader all of a sudden said publicly that “People now say they are not afraid of leaving home without cash in their pockets, but are only worried that the batteries on their mobile phones might run out.” Try to copy cat and following behind the backside of a country in the implementation of cashless QR code payment.

Yesterday, I read from the mainstream media reported that a bootlicker food court (you know ya!) had installed eight different cashless payment devices and only a small number of the customers used these cashless payment facilities. The hawkers complained that they have to pay for the equipment rental fees and pay double their efforts.

But why now the crazy fool suddenly dumb about the QR payment?

QR code payment is a quick payment feature by Alipay which also include many other useful payment features. Alipay is basically designed to serve the mainlanders. To use the Alipay QR code payment function, the account must pass an identify authentication. The current verification method is to submit mainland bank card number. Unless the user has an account from a China Bank and also holding a bank card from the China bank, the quick payment feature can never be activated. This is not I say one, it was an Alipay’s customer service staff told me when I phoned them about identify authentication.

Amazing isn’t it, when the mad fool suddenly announced to the whole world about using QR payment but without knowing exactly what is all about. Later realized that it will not work for us, as usual, just play dumb and hope that you and me will soon forget all about it!

When we shopp from Taobao Online, payment must be done with Alipay. If we are unable to have our identify authenticated, here are the only two methods to pay :

1. Pay by local credit card, but with an extra 3% surcharge.

2. Go personally to one of the AXS machine, use the function of the Top Up to buy Alipay shopping card with a local ATM card. After the transaction is completed, AXS system will send the Alipay shopping card serial number and PIN by email. Login to Alipay, click on the bottom right corner of the home page “Alipay Shopping Card Management” link, enter the serial number and PIN.

When shopping, select Alipay Shopping Card, enter the card serial number, PIN and then enter the payment password. Doubly safe ??

This method can only be used on the computer, it does not support Alipay App on phone.

I believed this method does not have to pay an extra 3% fee. But I have not used it yet, so not absolutely sure.

That AXS receipt said that MAS did not approve the Alipay Singapore card service. In other words, if you die or are cheated, it’s your own fault and do not go bother MAS.

If there is any inaccuracy in the above post, it is certainly due to honest error, please forgive me! ! Definitely it is not fake news!

NETIZEN CLAIMS THAT CLEANER EMPTIES CONTENT OF RUBBISH BIN INTO RECYCLING DUMPSTER!

I have been observing what the cleaner at our block does. Every morning, he empties the contents of the rubbish bin into the recycling dumpster. I complained to the town council before but they told me that their cleaners are educated to sort the trash and put recyclables in the recycling dumpster. Then how do you explain this? I think it is pointless to educate and encourage residents to recycle when their workers are doing otherwise.

Why are we chasing after degrees only to be unemployed? HARD QUESTION NETIZEN ASK HIMSELF!

0

I am currently working as a temp doing manual work (which is supposedly shunned by Singaporean) to get by. Still no hope of any other employment. The pay is only $7.50/hour.

I have a degree but without job, the degree means nothing.

I am considering the job because it is the only company that is willing to hire me. The salary should be slightly higher than $1.2k after confirmation for full timers.

Why are we chasing after degrees only to be unemployed?

CAT SOCIETY SUPPORTER BUILD A SMALL SHELTER FOR THE CAT TO STAY OUT OF THE WET WEATHER!

Good morning!

Here’s a sweet little story to brighten up your Wednesday morning. We received the following email and pictures from John Callahan, a Cat Welfare Society supporter:

“Can we get a shoutout for the kind person or persons whom have erected a weather cabana [for these cats], so they can have a dry place to rest during this current episode of rainy weather?

Further proof that through the efforts of organizations like CWS, the attitude of the general public in Singapore towards cats and other animals is changing for the better.”

Like John, we thought this was a compassionate and kind gesture towards our community cats who have to face the recent bouts of stormy weather in the harsh outdoors. It may seem like a small deed, but these two community cats are definitely grateful! Thank you, kind samaritan(s)!

PLEASE CONTACT THE LADY IF YOUR THE OWNER OF THE VOLKSWAGEN!

Looking for the owner of the grey Volkswagen SJA2666S that was parked along Joo Chiat road around 1550hrs today. The Toyota behind you had hit into the right side of your car while he was parallel parking. As I was on the opposite side of the road, I was unable to see the amount of damage your car sustained. But I saw him get out of his car, check the front left of his own car and push the bumper back in. However, he walked off.

I do not know if he eventually left his contact number for you. But if he didn’t, I am willing to be your independent witness in the event of a claim. I also have a separate picture with his car plate number.

Hope your car did not sustain any damage. But if you do need help with claiming against the other driver, you can contact me through this post
