NTUC TROLLEY IS FOUND ABANDON AT TAMPINES ST 84! SHOULD ENFORCEMENT ACTION BE TAKEN?

NTUC trolley is at Blk 871A Tampines St 84 left abandon far away from the store!

Below is what Netizens suggested:

Iman Goyang:  I wonders if I’m right in saying that NTUC deserves this. Outdated idea of putting $1 coins to use the trolleys. Why can’t they
1. increase to $10
2. install sensors that will produce loud noise if trolley is push 5m out of the boundary.
Either thinking of costs cutting:that’s why not to install sensors OR top man can’t be bothered to think out of the box.

Alan Ang:  I hope fair price can think of a way to deal with these kind idiots who steal the trolley. Reward someone who snap a picture of the idiots and summon the idiots heavily to cover the recovery cost. If they do not pay then charge them theft and put them in jail.

Left Changi Airport, Singapore at 0645H and arrived at NAIA Terminal 1, Philippines at 1015H. It was great to experience automated check in and Immigration check in Singapore. I am so impressed at how much more computers are used than human. The airport was so clean.

WHY SINGAPORE IS ONE OF MOST STRESSFUL PLACE TO LIVE IN!

0

We have little resources, and so everything is expensive. If you want to lead a good (more luxurious) life, you have to have a good job. A really good job.

You grow up being told these: work hard, get into a good secondary school, get into a good university and get a good job, or your life is ruined for eternity.

We work the longest hours. In 2016, Singaporeans clocked 2371.2 hours, the longest in the world.

We also have among the oldest workers. Guess what’s the result of lack of minimum wage and high cost of living?

Corporal punishment. From your parents. I’m not sure if this is still very common now, but coming home to a beating definitely does nothelp relieve your stress. Didn’t score an A? Prepare to flinch in preparation for that slap.

There also isn’t much you can do to relieve your stress. Our best bets are the manmade nature and the slightly dirty East Coast Park. Oh, and unless you’re heading there on a weekday afternoon, don’t forget the 500 other people wandering and clamoring around you!

Welcome to Singapore!

Sincerely,

A Local Unsatisfiable Complainer

Disclaimer: For all that we complain about, we still love Singapore!

PRC STUDENT FACED DISCRIMINATION FROM HIS SINGAPORE CLASSMATE BECOS HE FROM VILLAGE FARM!

0

China student reported that he faced discrimination from his Singapore classmates because he is from a village farm.

Our last 2 generations of Singaporeans have never known hunger or poor, so they think lowly of those who comes from a different background.
Maids in Singapore homes is a common fixture and there is a “poor” stigma if your family don”t have at least one maid.
A few years back there was an uproar over a photo of a Singapore national serviceman with his maid following behind carrying his army backpack

LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO GIVE TUITION TO THE LOWER INCOME FAMILIES @ OUTRAM!

0

As many of you know, I work in a low-income community at Spooner Road (near Outram). It is a high needs and low resource community. For the past year, I have had the privilege of having many of you step up to give to this community and I really value your contribution. A lot of what we do cannot be done without volunteers.

If you are looking to volunteer for the next four months, join us!

We are looking for:
1. Volunteers to read to our children who are P1 to P3. These children’s reading age typically falls below their own level, which means that they may be 7 years old but their reading age is at 5. A lot of our academic subjects require our children to be able to read. Therefore, it is an important skill we want to equip our children with. This programme takes place every Thursday, 730pm to 10pm for 12 weeks from March to May 2018. Training starts in Feb!

2. Volunteers to tutor our youths from 12 to 17 years old. Many of our youths have limited space to study at home, as they stay in one or two room flats. Their home environment may not be conducive for studying as well. At our centre, we provide a space for the children to study and we hope that they can receive academic support from volunteers in the meantime. This programme takes place every Tuesday, 730pm to 10pm for 10 weeks from March to May 2018. Training starts in Feb!

Feel free to ping me if you are interested to volunteer! We also run many other programmes. If you are interested to contribute but what I have mentioned does not fit, feel free to ping me as well.

NETIZEN CLAIMS THAT BUS CAPTAIN TOLD HER TO FOLD HER STROLLER COS LTA LAW ONLY ALLOW 1 OPEN STROLLER ON BOARD!

photo for illustration

Pissed!!! Your bus captain insisted me to fold my stroller. Reason LTA law only allow 1 open stroller on board any one bus. Since when huh???? I told him I am only taking 2 stops, but he still insisted me to fold 1.

Place and time of incident was at Sengkang bus interchange, bus service 83, towards punggol ard 1915hrs on board SBS14L. The bus wasn’t crowded at all!

I’ve got 2 strollers with 2 toddlers with me. There were a lot of shopping bags hanging around my strollers and the baskets below my strollers were also full with stuffs (I’ve just went marketing). Do you know how inconvenient it was for me to close the stroller?

Is it really true that LTA only allows 1 open stroller on board??
