FOREIGN TALENT UNHAPPY WITH ICA AFTER RELATIVE GETS DEPORTED

Dear ICA Officers in Changi, Please do your assessment properly on the people you want to deport. Know what really is their purpose in coming to your country and do not discriminate, nor act rudely. Please be fair-minded and use your brains logically in your decisions.

We went back to our hometown 30th of September to celebrate my wife’s birthday and wants to spend her birthday with our 9 month old son whom we missed for a few months. We plan to take our son with us for the whole month of October since it is also my birth month and one of my cousin volunteered to help us take care of our son since the nanny/domestic helper we applied in MOM is still processing and haven’t approved yet which obviously is not her. We went back and arrived in SG 1st of Oct midnight with my wife, my baby and my lady cousin.

I am ONLY a foreign worker here for 4 years and got my baby a dependent pass under me. My wife is currently working in SG too for 7 years and got her own pass. My cousin is not working nor did not finish school and has a family. My cousin’s Last name and birth place is same as mine. She got hold by an immigration officer and went inside the interview room and to our surprise after waiting for an hour or so, the officer said she will be deported. I asked why, what could be the reason, and that she will not look for a job here since she is not qualified and that is not her purpose, she has a return ticket too. I told the officer that she will help us take care of our baby for 29 days and we want to spend my birthday with my baby.

I told the officer the difficulty if she will be deported which will make us book a ticket and return back our baby on the next day too. Told him that we just stayed over the weekend in our hometown to celebrate my wife’s birthday with my son and be with him just for a month until the nanny application will be approved. The officer said we need not wait for her and ask politely if we could talk to the deciding officer or talk to my cousin since she doesn’t talk english well and doesn’t have the proper budget of going back alone.

The officers are heartless and said that it is confidential. I want to yell, scream and tell the officer what if he is on my shoes. But I kept calm and thought of our future. We cannot do anything, baby cried, mother and father also cried, we are helpless and just a foreigner in your beloved country. I asked my cousin about what happened to her and she has been informed that she is not illegible to stay in Singapore for more than 7 days with no other apparent reason. I now need to send my baby back to my hometown, take an emergency leave and disrupt my job schedule for the week.

I thought SG is a family friendly country as what the government always advertise. I am not after fame. I just want to remind you all that you need to learn how to symphatize and review your mission, vision and values. Your job is to secure Singapore’s borders against the entry of undesirable people and not against normal and righteous people.

HALIMAH YACOB MOVING FROM YISTANA TO ISTANA

<Facebook post by President Halimah Yacob>

Thank you for everyone’s concern with regard to my residential arrangements. MHA has just issued a statement about the security challenges they face if I continue to stay in my current home.

Therefore, as much as I would like to continue living in my current home in Yishun, I have accepted MHA’s recommendation and will make arrangements to move to a new place soon.

ARE THE RICH ALWAYS THE ONE BEING SELF CENTERED NOWAWAYS?

The difference being that the former deed makes her feel good while the latter deed makes her look good. The main cause is not about favoring the rich and frowning/having power upon/over the poor.

This society has too many self-centered individuals who live their world revolving around themselves and are overly concerned with how the world views them. While being rich definitely could be one of the causes of an individual growth in the feeling of self-importance (and losing sight of the world), we also have our cases of the rich giving back to society and remaining humble.

Personally, i think that it all boils down to the education, upbringing, life experiences (work and friends) and personal values.

FT CLAIMS THAT ICA OFFICERS SHOULD BE FAIR MINDED AND USE THEIR BRAINS LOGICALLY!

ACCIDENT SO SEVERE FAMILY COULD NOT RECOGNIZE VICTIM

The husband and son of the elderly female pedestrian — who was killed in an accident involving a taxi along West Coast Drive on Sep 27 — had difficulty identifying her body due to the severity of her injuries. The 67-year-old woman, known as Madam Xu Bao, had left her HDB flat to shop for groceries in the morning when she was run over by a taxi.

Police said they were alerted to the accident at 6.27 am. The victim was found motionless and pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. A 59-year-old male taxi driver was arrested for causing death by a negligent act.

Mdm Xu’s only son, 38-year-old Mr Yang, said that his mother would leave the house at about 6 am daily to exercise, then buy vegetables and breakfast from the market. She usually reached home at around 7 am. On the day of the accident, Mr Yang’s father had gone downstairs to look for the victim when she did not come home. Although he heard that there had been an accident, he did not go to the scene to find out more, due to superstitions that it was taboo. Instead, he returned home to continue waiting.

At around 9 am when the victim still had not come home, Mr Yang’s father went back downstairs. This time, he walked to the accident site and told police officers that he could not find his wife. According to Mr Yang, a warehouse supervisor, investigators spoke to his father and realised the victim’s name matched his wife’s. They asked Mr Yang’s father if he would like to identify the body, but the latter declined to do so. Investigators then handed Mr Yang’s father a photo of the deceased instead.

However, due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, Mr Yang’s father was unable to recognise his wife. As such, he told police officers that the deceased was not his wife. Mr Yang’s father subsequently called him to come to the scene, but he too, was unable to identify the deceased until later.

Mr Yang said that his parents had been married for more than 40 years and had lived in their West Coast flat for over 30 years. Mr Yang, who is already married, had moved out earlier in June. He said his father is still unable to accept Mdm Xu’s death and despite putting on a brave front, would secretly cry at night.

LADY GET HUMILIATED AND REFUSE ENTRY INTO KL CITY HALL JUST BECOS SHE WEARING SKIRT

Feeling so angry and humiliated and decided to take this picture and share my experience

I was invited to attend a meeting representing the Board of Architects and I was refused entry by the security guards because I am wearing a skirt. I requested them to refer to the officer who invited LAM for the meeting. The guard after speaking to someone over the phone told me rudely that I am not allowed in.

LAM’s executive secretary finally got in touched with the officer and he came down and accompanied me up to the meeting room and he was only able to do it after he signed some declaration. This is so ridiculous. Do I look so indecent and what is happening to this government department? With the same outfit, I attended 2 other meetings at Ministry and another Majlis later and have no issue
