It is not often that you can buy a house right next to a country’s president, but seeing that President Halimah Yacob stays in a HDB flat, that is not such a far-fetched idea. In fact, a very enterprising property agent has already jumped on the bandwagon, by offering a unit in the same Yishun block that Madam Halimah is staying in.

Dubbed the Yistana, the listing also indicated that the house costs lest than half a million dollar, and situated in the most safest HDB block in Singapore. The unit being marketed in three floors below the President’s own jumbo house.

The owner, Mr Wong, 35, a civil servant, has lived there for more than a decade. “We already had plans to sell the unit before any names even came up for the presidency,” he said.

A stretch of pavement between Lucky Plaza and a private clinic adjacent to Mount Elizabeth Hospital Orchard has become a makeshift, illegal market dealing with all manner of goods, from second hand bags, clothes to services like hair styling and manicures.

Their activities have gone on for so long, business owners nearby malls have lodged complaints about these vendors, who may charge up to 50% less than regular brick and mortar shops located within the expensive retail district.

Some service providers were even seen charging $5 for a hair styling session, or $10 for a manicure.

These illegal stalls do not pay any rent, which drastically reduces overhead costs for these vendors.

A retailer told reporters that they had made repeated reports to the authorities and had even taken the matter up with the management of their mall, but to little avail. The stalls continue to be set up on a regular basis, which eats into business profits as their customers, mainly foreign domestic workers, flock to these cheaper, unlawful alternatives.

. A car reverse into mine under block 708 Clementi West Street 2 today (17 September 2017) and sped away without stopping to check for damages or even leaving a note. This resulted in a badly damaged front bumper and sensors. I have lodged a police report and I am trying to track down the car and its driver. This was what happened:

I was parked under block 708 Clementi West Street 2 at about 8:45 PM on 17/09/17. My engines were off and my hazard light turned ON while waiting for someone. I was using my phone in the car when I was startled by a loud bang and my car shaking. Startled, I looked up and saw the back of a black/very dark purple car speeding away from me. I only managed to catch the last 5 digits of the car plate – XXX7081C. The car was a hatchback and displayed a ‘P’ plate sign.

If you know anyone with a car fitting any part of this description, or if this is your car – please let me know. Or, if your car was parked in the carpark around block 708 Clementi West Street 2 around that time and have an overnight dash cam, I would really appreciate if you could contact me and share with me the video recorded by your car near that time period.

The driver of the car was extremely irresponsible and must be taken to task. Given the impact on my car, there is no excuse that the driver would not be aware. This is a case where the driver just could not be bothered to own up to his mistake, and thought he could get away. If we can track him down, it would definitely send a warning to hit-and-run hopefuls to stop their disgusting behaviour.

With a heavy heart, I decided to go back to the crime scene to try my luck for the third time to see if I can find the car. Just when I was about to give up, the car was parked right there in front of my eyes. Shall let the police handle this. Will update you guys!

A victim’s colleague saw Jason Lee Zhe Rui taking an upskirt video of a woman who was more than twice his age, and immediately reported him to the police. Lee was at a stationary store at Bras Basah Complex on 3 February this year, when the incident happened.

The colleague saw Lee, 23, behaving suspiciously, where, at the point in time, the victim, 59, was working in the store restocking pens while squatting at the shelf. The colleague saw Lee holding a roll of white paper in his hand and moving it underneath the victim’s skirt. She alerted the victim but failed to detain Lee.

Lee then subsequently returned, and he was not giving up in trying to take upskirt video of the woman. This time, the colleague saw that there was a phone attached to the lower end of the roll of white paper, revealing only the camera. Lee was eventually detained and police called. For his offence, he was sentenced to two weeks in jail.

I’m a 35 years old working as a engineer, my mother suffered from nose cancer stage 3 & need to be hospitalized & I have to find money for her.

First, I went to look for Licensed MoneyLender because I read through website stating that their interest is capped at 4% per month & with a admin fee of 10%. After that, lack of money for my mum surgery, I went to few other Moneylenders and started borrowing until a sum of $28000.

Finally after 3 months, I can’t manage to pay the debts I owe, my friend told me not to worry about it, someone will be there to help me so heintroduced me to ‘Blessed XXXXX Social Service’ , a guy name Billy.

Two days later, I took half day off & went over filling with hope, when I reached, I explained to him my situation & my mum condition. He asked me how many outstanding loan amount you have outside with Licensed Moneylender & bank, I told him I only have debts with Licensed Moneylender which is around a sum of $28000. He ask me how about my monthly income, I told him $3.2k.

Next thing he told me was ‘ Mr Teo, you still pay them for what? I help you file bankruptcy, meanwhile your handphone all switch off, just ignore those moneylenders’. To me, I was shocked, I need a helping hand. I owe money I pay money, just that I hope I can pay slowly by installment plans. If I intend to go bankruptcy, why will I even bother to look for them to help me!!! If I listen to what he said, the debt collectors will start calling my office if they can’t find me through phone, ended up I will be losing my job.

I am a Christian, but I believe my Lord will never ask me to run away from debts I owe & file for bankruptcy!! WELL DONE! To you Billy, you look like a saint to everyone, but actually, you’re a evil person. No one wants to be a bankruptcy.
