GHOST IN STAGMONT CAMP. NETIZENS SHARE HORROR STORIES

“Don’t don’t don’t go up to 6th floor.

i’ve been in stagmont for almost 2 years now. that floor is…… spooky. i’ve been there once myself, but it was during the day. one of my friends who went up during guard duty at night saw a picture of a small girl leaning against the wall with 2 green candles burning in front of it. And its not just the 6th floor too….. the generator store in the accom block… beware. and the MPH too. i’ve personally experienced a door opening and closing itself in the MPH once.

Other hot spots:

football field at night. avoid.

once i crossed the field at 9pm, twice, to return my office key. when i was returning back to my office, a dog to my left, started howling just as i was directly alongside the dog.
then, it followed me, barking at something behind me, all the way from one end of the field to the other. i didn’t dare look back, and simply walked as fast as i could.

2 SIG publication store.

our key to this room mysteriously found its way into the room. the funny thing is, as this room is used to store sensitive materials, we have a metal gate, which can only be locked by the key. when my sgt couldn’t find the key, in desperation he removed the gate from its hinges, and slightly damaged the gate. went in, he found the key behind a row of steel cabinets. no way the key could have gotten in there and the gate still remain locked.

cookhouse.

the alarm at the muslim cookhouse often rings suddenly by itself in the wee hours of the morning, about 2-4am. normally u would expect the alarm to be responded to, but the DOs, BOSs, Guard Comd and 2ICs all seem to have been briefed one way or another to ignore it and avoid investigating.

SI admin block, the store where they keep the bedsheets.

another friend on guard duty found the store lights on once, and heard scuffling sounds inside, they went in to investigate, and caught…. nobody! when they left the store, they heard footsteps following behind them. his prowling buddy turned around, screamed and fainted. as for my friend, well being bossom buddy that he is, he took off at top speed, without his buddy who fainted. Luckily the other guy was unharmed. apparently he’d seen a pair of glowing red eyes behind them.

SI admin block 2nd floor, corridor outside the Admin Br office.

on duty once, while in the office, at about 8 to 9pm, i heard female footsteps(sounds like someone in high heels walking) 4 times that night.”

DONT ANYHOW SAY YOU FROM SECRET SOCIETY. MAN GETS ARRESTED!! (VIDEO)

A security guard who was caught proclaiming that he was an Ang Soon Tong (Secret Society) headman was arrested by the Singapore Police Force.
A police statement revealed that the 45 year-old man in the video was arrested on charges of being a member of an unlawful society. The SPF warned that it takes a stern view of people who engage in or are associated with gang-related activities.

The video was posted online last Tuesday and has since gone viral.

https://www.facebook.com/SingaporeUncensored/videos/516647895348032/

In the video, the man could be seen cursing at another person on the phone and challenging the man to meet up in Punggol, possibly for a face-to-face settlement.

The Ang Soon Tong is a historic local secret society which has been in existence since the 1950s. Some of its illicit activities include gun-smuggling, drugs, illegal moneylending and illegal gambling.
The infamous “One-eyed Dragon”, Tan Chor Jin, who shot a nightclub owner in Singapore several times before attempting to flee prosecution in Singapore was also an Ang Soon Tong member. He was hanged for committing murder.
For being part of an unlawful society, the security guard faces up to a $5,000 fine and/or 3 years jail.

EXPEDIA FLIGHT BOOKING CURRENCY SCAM. BEWARE!!!

While booking on Expedia, please be aware and make sure you have a screenshot of every page you visit while booking. I would rather encourage people not to book via Expedia, because if there are issues, then you will have to reach out to their support and trust me, it is one of the worst support centers where the representatives don’t have much insight or authority and cannot help you at all, except stating “we will escalate this”. So better, choose trusted airlines websites or any others that have been working for you.
In short,  Expedia website displayed prices in SGD but on the last page after I entered my credit card details, the booking was confirmed and I received an email with receipt in USD (of same number of dollars). So in effect, I am charged 808 SGD while the ticket price was 574 USD; and even as I type this, on 23rd mid night, the prices are still about 600 SGD for the same route.

On Aug 17th, I booked a couple of tickets to Bali from Singapore. Here is how the booking was done (All screenshots attached below):

1. Open google chrome in Incognito mode
2. Type “Expedia” in the search window and enter
3. The first website that is listed is “expedia.com.sg” – click on that and move on to the flight search page; even if I would have typed “expedia.com”, it would redirect me to local website with a pop up (and I just tested this); so there is no possibility that I would have gone to to expedia.com because my incognito window always redirects me to SG website.
4. Enter source as Singapore and Destination as Bali for Aug 25th as starting date and Aug 30th as return date.
5. Continue with the selection of flights; I choose Scoot and Garuda Indonesia (no additional charges for returning flight). The total cost displayed was 287SGD as on Aug 17th, but I took a example screenshot on Aug 22nd, which shows 294SGD (about 7 SGD increased)
6. On the final page, the total bill was 287 SGD * 2 which is 574 SGD plus additional 14 SGD for card charges
7. I booked the ticket and only realised that they charged me in USD 574 after 5 days.
I called up Expedia Support Center (Singapore) and they said, the booking is with Expedia US and they cannot help. I tried to explain them that I did the booking indeed through Expedia Singapore and prices were in SGD; they said they will update me in 3 days.
I talked about it on twitter and twitter handle @expedia requested details about booking. They said the same thing that I did the booking through US website and hence the price. I asked them to provide the fare listing of the particular route on Aug 17th at around 9 PM, when I booked. They said that they will not have this insight and they need to escalate. One of the customer support folks asked me to check if the credit card that I used is charged in USD or SGD. I looked into my credit card and it is even weird – half the journey is charged in SGD and half the journey is charged in USD. I asked them, how is it possible; even then they refused helping stating that it is still US booking and hence USD were deducted.
I, then, checked on US website (which I never visited before for SURE) to even check the price listing for the same route, date and time. The USD price was much lesser that what I was charged; why did they charge me 574 USD plus, is a mystery. I can understand that the flight charges may vary but this is unreasonable. I believe there is some bug in their system that is creating this problem but the worst part is Expedia support is not even attempting to look into it.
Simply, they can check the price listing for that particular day (they should be having this data for sure, being such a big company), and at least respond about that. There has been no response. I searched on google, whether someone else also faced similar issue and there you go; I was not alone. Someone else posted on one of Singapore forums here:
If you have read through this, all I can say is that stay away from Expedia – because there are bugs and even if it is something else you need help with their support, they are just PATHETIC.

BEWARE! DO NOT PUT YOUR EZLINK TOGETHER WITH CREDIT CARD! I GOT DOUBLE DEDUCTION!

Hi everyone pls take note when taking bus or mrt ride. I kenna deducted bus/mrt fare from my uob credit card. When calling customer service staff, he can’t tell me which bus or mrt station for the fare deduction. I told him I didn’t use my credit card for any bus mrt ride. He say this trans is from my uob paywave.

If I didn’t use it, I have to report to police. I say in the first place I didn’t even consent uob to activate my card for use in any transport ride. I tell him I want to opt out. He not very helpful say it is much easier if I do it myself over at the mrt machine. Kudo him. Now if my wallet got ezlink card and uob card.

It is possible that both my cards get deducted for my bus mrt ride. He can’t answer my question. Kudo him again. So u all better be careful if your debit or credit card are together with ezlink in same wallet.

I received this msg from someone kena conned by UOB. How true does it be?

HONEST KL DRIVER RETURNS SG MAN HIS LOST PHONE. I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES

I lost my phone in KL. I couldn’t call the driver obviously because my phone was in his car. I had to rush to the hotel, and in room on my computer, then went to reception. That was the only way to contact the driver via my account which lists the last car I took.

Then realised that I needed to borrow the hotel receptionist’s phone so that there is a number to ring back. Uber then linked the driver’s phone with the new number I gave as a ‘pair thru’. After which during the communication, the driver indicated that he found the phone by the floor in front and that he will drive back to my hotel after he drops his next passenger off. He refused any monetary compensation instead just askinng me to rate him 5 stars. I was so so grateful at his honesty.

But I didn’t give him 5 stars in the end. I gave him 6.

EX-NTUC CEO CLAIMS HALIMAH HAS POOR FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE TO SAFEGUARD COUNTRIES RESERVES

<Facebook post by Tan Kin Lian>

Dear Mr. Tan,

I was reading the ST today when the cover page says that the only candidate who automatically qualifies is Halimah and the other 2 are subject to the committee’s approval. But let’s look at it like that:

Halimah became Speaker because Michael Palmer resigned after his affair was exposed. The point is this: the skills required to be Speaker is not so difficult because even a practicing lawyer can take on this role as a part-timer. Moreover, he was only a partner at a larger middle-market firm.

By contrast, both Salleh and Farid have archived greater things but setting up their own companies and growing them into large ones that are worth $200 million or more. Surely, this is a much more challenging job than to become speaker?

The fact itself is that there are thousands of lawyers in Singapore but only less than half of them who could manage a $200 million company. So my question to you is: do you think this the prescribed criteria is fair? I am asking you this because I am sure you understand where I am coming from.

REPLY

I agree with your sentiment. I also feel that Halimah Yacob does not have the financial knowledge and experience for the responsibility of looking after the reserves.

MAN WARNS NOT TO TAKE UBER AS THERE IS HIDDEN FEES

I strongly advised not to take uber services, as from my receipt showing here very clearly that this fare was unreasonable, unacceptable and unfairness for users, because that is a hidden fare apply even my trip was an advanced booking almost over-night, I make my booking on 20 August 2017, at around 2000hrs, for my next day journey from Choa Chu Kang Crescent to Thomson Plaza, while at the uber app show fare for my journey was around $17+, when reached my destination,I was asked to pay a fee of $30.60,

which has increased of a serch charge of $11.48, at times of my booking that was not showing to me, before I confirm my booking, and this was really unfair and unacceptable,

And as from my return trip, which using normal taxi at peak hour that night, from Thomson Plaza back to Choa Chu Kang Crescent which the same routine and my taxi fare was just $20 buck only, so here I strongly advised stop using Uber, because they has hidden costs apply with that really unreasonable and unacceptable and unfair.

Please do help to sharing it out as many as you can, if you agree this this unfair, unreasonable and unacceptable.
