Following ITE’s decision to expel the young punk who taunted and physically abused an autistic boy inside the school toilet, the aggressor has since come out with his side of the story.
He said that he was minding his own business inside the toilet when the victim came “out of nowhere” and unzips his pants, takes out his genitals and peed on him.
He said that he managed to move away but the urine got all ovr his shoes and socks.
He added that he didn’t know that the victim was autistic and after he hit him, he “came to a late realisation that he has autism.
The aggressor said that he wanted people to know that he isn’t a bully that preys on the weak, and that he would like to apologise to the victim and his family, adding that “none of this was intentional”.
Facebook user Sophia Sulaiman Recently posted on the SC Private Group after she recently encountered something extremely eerie after tutoring a child at Hua Guan Avenue. She stated on how both she and the taxi driver saw a spirit. Both the driver and the passenger even went to a coffeeshop to have drinks so as to prevent the spirit from following them home.
Here is the full story. I worked on day shifts now, and would normally be home by 5pm. All my kids were grown up and working, so usually it’ll only be me n my hubs at home or at times alone when hes on shift. I dont watch tv dat much, so decided to take up tuition assignments 2-3 times a week. During dat time i would reached home by 1030 or 11pm at most. The driver was calmer now, less pale. He told us he’ll call for cab home and leave his taxi der. He’ll picked it up the next day. We left the kopitiam 45mins later, waited till uncle got in cab and then walked home. The original composer of the song Count on me Singapore has written a letter of demand to Joey Mendoza and Pauline Communication. It is believed that Joey Mendoza sold the rights of the song “we can achieve” to the company.
An Indian called Caroline Duia even made the statement that Hugh Harrison could be lying to Singapore about composing the song.
She then stated that the words and the song is different as well.
Mr Mendoza, 58, said that he wrote the song in April 1983 and taught it to children from the Bal Bhavan Orphanage in Mumbai where he is based.
They rehearsed for a month before performing it on May 1 that year during an annual gathering of children from different orphanages, he said.
“We shared the song with many teachers and institutions,” Mr Mendoza, who is also known as Joey, told TODAY in an email.*
“The children in remote villages all sing We Can Achieve,” he said, adding that he travels around the country to teach music and sports to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Asked for evidence, he said: “Whatever data I had on the performance has gone missing since all cassettes and written (documents) were all washed away in the floods of July 26, 2005.”*
In 1999, he sold the rights to the song to a Catholic publishing house Pauline Communications for what he claimed to be a nominal sum of 2,000 rupees (about S$37).
The publishing house then released the track as part of a CD called We Can Achieve — Inspirational Songs for Children and All in 1999. It also uploaded the song to music-sharing platform SoundCloud in 2012, which it has now removed.
In a Facebook post last Sunday evening, Pauline Communications said that when it bought the song from Mr Mendoza, it was unaware that a similar song was used in Singapore’s 1986 National Day celebrations.

The 4.2 km Waterway is the central feature of Punggol, flanked on both sides of the banks with modern-style housing, recreation amenities and hipster diners.

The high number of accidents there were attributed to vengeful spirits inhibiting that area.
There were a total of 26 dirt tracks in Punggol. Many of them remained rural in nature even by the late 80s. Some of these tracks were disused and became dumping grounds for spiritual practitioners to “release ghosts” or conduct occult rituals. It was a common sight to find religious paraphilias and effigies left under trees tied with a yellow cloth. There was even an Urban Legend that Track 22 was where the “Gates of Hell” was situated and young spiritual practitioners would spend a night there to test their skills against the supernatural forces. The two other locations that have similar reputation is a location in Sembawang and what used to be the forested area between Tampines and Pasir Ris.

At Track 26, where the Masjid Wak Sumang, a small kampong mosque was, there were rumours of Pontianak sightings in that area. In one retelling by an old malay woman who grew up in that area, she recalled that on Thursday evenings, it was common for devotees to hear scratching and crying sounds on the roof of the mosque. The question I think to myself whenever I walk along the Waterway is this: What happened to the spirits that once roamed the lands. Are they still present, hidden in plain sight? Have education and logic desensitized us to old wives tales and urban legends? There’s a story I’ve heard that would perhaps cause you to wonder as I have the next time you take an evening stroll around the neighbourhood.

Confessions by Anthony, 76 year old retiree, lives in Pasir Ris but visits his son in Punggol frequently. Sometimes, he would jog across the bridge connecting Punggol to Lor Halus where he would take a shortcut home. One incident that took place in 2018 changed his life forever.
“Chinese believe that ghosts are drawn to places where there are large bodies of water. You may have heard of advice from old folks to avoid swimming during the lunar 7th month – hungry ghost month – because each year there is guaranteed to be some cases of drowning. Drowning doesn’t only happen during the 7th month, in fact, people who are good swimmers are known to have drowned under unnatural circumstances. That’s because Chinese believe that restless spirits reside in water and will need to claim souls in order to reincarnate. Sure, telling you young people all these stories, you will think uncle is old and senile and talking rubbish, but would you risk it?
The Punggol Waterway may be man-made and cuts a scenic route through the Punggol estate, but the history of the land is mostly forgotten. These areas used to be very ulu. I believe in a bit of feng shui. Unlike before, now you have more people living here, the Yang ji (energy) is very strong. Even if the place has spirits, they are also all chased away already. Chased away where? Chased to empty and dark areas, especially along the waterfront, under the bridges, and areas where people seldom go.
From my son’s place to my home is about a 45 mins brisk walk back home. Taking a bus to the interchange and changing buses along the SLE to Pasir Ris takes about the same amount of time or longer. Very leh cheh (troublesome), so what I do sometimes is just walk along the waterway, cross the bridge and cut across Lor Halus and walk along the park connector. At night it can be quite windy and peaceful.

That night when I got back, all of a sudden I felt very angry. I wanted to kill my wife and myself. I also don’t understand why. I went to shower and prayed before bed. Signs informing customers about the lack of cheese fries were seen at the KFC Tampines and Kallang outlets, as KFC explained that they are having shipment issues with their cheese sauce.

A 53-year-old Singaporean woman, who is the former director of Faith Educare childcare centres, was charged in court earlier today (17 March) with cheating of fraudulent child care subsidy claims, along with 2 of her female Singaporean employees, aged 42 and 53.
Th trio allegedly cheating the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) into disbursing subsidies for 8 children who had not started their enrolment or didn’t even attend their Faith Educare centres at all.
They allegedly submitted 16 subsidy claims, falsely confirming the children’s attendance from January to August 2016, where they received payouts of about S$4,800.
ECDA is in charge of the Child Car Subsidies Scheme, which disburses subsidies to ECDA licensed childcare centres locally to help them with preschool expenses.
ECDA released a statement noting that the wrongful payouts have since been fully recovered from the childcare centre which is no longer operating.
“For the disbursement of preschool subsidies under ECDA, there are processes and checks in place to ensure the proper use and accountability of Government monies. ECDA maintains close oversight of preschools’ use of government subsidies which includes conducting regular audits.”
Upon conviction, the trio could be jailed up to 10 years, fined or both.
A 38-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly standing outside a Bukit Batok residential unit and using a bamboo pole to pickup and steal a handbag inside.
The handbag was sitting on a chair in the living room of the home.
The man fled after the house’s occupant screamed at him, but he was arrested within 2 hours of the case being reported as officers from Jurong Division established his identity through CCTV and ground enquiries.
The man will be charged in court on 17 March 2021 for housebreaking.
