WOMAN FOUND LETTERS THROWN INTO BIN AT AMK. ACCUSES SINGPOST

331231312312This is why you will NEVER receive your mails and parcel from Singapore Post.

Postman actually threw the letters and parcel into the bins. This is not the first time we’ve found this in Ang Mo Kio.

LTA/CHAS government letters – unopened are all being dumped 🤦🏻‍

Singpost Responds:

SingPost is aware that images of letters allegedly discarded in a bin are circulating online. Based on the addresses on the letters, a team was immediately dispatched to comb the area overnight.

The bin was located and the team expanded its search to every bin within the vicinity, with no success of locating the letters. Letter boxes were also opened to check if these letters had been delivered to affected recipients.

Concurrently, our customer service team has gotten in touch with the Facebook user but has not received a reply as it was late in the night. We are also conducting interviews with the postman on duty.

Our main priority currently is to locate the letters and have them delivered to intended recipients.

Please bear with us as we continue to investigate this and will provide an update as soon as possible.

Kudos to the police for capturing the 17 men that tried to smuggle illegal items into Singapore.

What do you guys think?

Police Media Release

The Police Coast Guard (PCG) and Singapore Customs have arrested 17 men, aged between 22 and 48, for their suspected involvement in smuggling duty-unpaid cigarettes.

During a joint operation conducted by PCG and Singapore Customs on 26 January 2019, 14 Indonesians and three Singaporeans were arrested at Sungei Jurong. A total of 3,740 cartons and 448 packets of duty-unpaid cigarettes; two foreign registered supply vessels and two Singapore registered vehicles were seized as case exhibits.

Singapore Customs is handling the investigation. The total duty and Goods and Services Tax (GST) evaded amounted to about $396,200 and $28,820 respectively.

Commander of the PCG, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Cheang Keng Keong commended the officers for their excellent team work which resulted in the swift arrest. He added that the authorities will spare no efforts and will continue to take firm action against such offenders.

Buying, selling, conveying, delivering, storing, keeping, having in possession or dealing with duty-unpaid goods are serious offences under the Customs Act and the GST Act. Offenders can be fined up to 40 times the amount of duty and GST evaded and/or jailed for up to six years. Vehicles used in the commission of such offences are also liable to be forfeited.

Members of public with information on smuggling activities or evasion of Customs duty or GST can call the Singapore Customs hotline on 1800-2330000, email [email protected] or use Customs@SG mobile app (which can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play) to report these illegal activities.

SCOOT FLIGHT RESCHEDULED. REFUNDS SCREWED UP.

321123123312Scoot trying to cheat customer of SGD 1200.

Booking reference I4BPVF. Original departure date 18th Nov 2018.
Nov 3 2018. Received emails from Scoot informing that flight was rescheduled to a day earlier and I was given an option to either get 100% cash refund of SGD 1260.80 or take 120% in terms of voucher. Had to make a call to customer care to exercise my option.

Nov 9 2018. 23.20 SGT. Spoke with customer care rep Anica. Case number provided 18116522076. I opted from 100% cash refund (as opposed to 120% worth of vouchers). Been told money will be refunded in 2 weeks time.

Dec 25 2018. 11.05 SGT. Having received no refund and no communication from Scoot, called customer care again. Spoke with Anne, employee number 1312-0014. She said the system was showing my choice of Voucher instead of cash refund. I asked to go back and check the recording on Nov 9th where I clearly asked for cash refund not vouchers. She assured that this case will be investigated and I should expect commuication from Scoot in this regard in 2 weeks time.

Jan 14 2019. Received voucher (no cash) from scoot in email.

Jan 26 2019. 11.58 SGT. Called customer care again. Spoke with Cheska, employee number 1811-0019. She confirmed that Voucher was sent in error and has been voided. She also told that this case has been escalated to “High Quality” (not sure what does that mean) and that I will receive email regarding cash refund in 48 hours.

… (harassment) to be continued

SG CAR ROBBED AT JOHOR TAMAN PELANGI WITHIN 5 MINUTES

1232213231It was meant to be a good year to celebrate as all of us welcome 2019, but not exactly for me and my fiancée, yesterday on the 24/1/19 we drove to Johor Bahru to run some errands. So we parked the car near Taman pelangi, Jalan kuning to change Singapore dollars to ringgit currency .

Five minutes later we returned back , we realised that the car’s been robbed, left rear window been smashed, passports , wallets , bag and some other personal belongings were stolen as well. To whoever who drives to Johor bahru frequently , please be extra careful.

It’s too troublesome to go through all these hassles to get the documents done to return back to Singapore .
