Police Media Release:
The Police have arrested a 38-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of shop thefts along Orchard Road and Habourfront Walk.
Between December 2018 and January 2019, the Police received several reports informing that items such as branded sunglasses, leather goods and accessories had been stolen from shopping malls along Orchard Road and Habourfront Walk.
Through ground enquiries and investigations, officers from the Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him on 19 January 2019. An assortment of items valued at more than S$3000 were seized as exhibit.
The man will be charged in court on 21 January 2019 with theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he can be jailed for up to 7 years and fined.
The Police would like to remind retailers to adopt the following precautionary measures:
- Ensure a good line of sight for the displays by using an appropriate shop layout;
- Display advisory posters or signage against shop theft;
- Display expensive merchandise in locked showcases or at prominent locations (e.g. near cashier counters);
- Install CCTVs with recording system at the entrance/exit of the store to capture the facial features of shoppers; and
- Deploy adequate security personnel to patrol the premises in luminous vests for increased visual deterrence effect.

**Helping my friend to post a HIT AND RUN Accident**
Friends!!! Be careful when using Gojek. Don’t use card, only cash. Apparently Gojek Drivers are able to complete a ride without actually doing so, and in turn charging the Rider.
This incident happened on 17 Jan at about 10:40AM.

Please help look out for this teenager Bing Jie who went missing on 20 January 2019. He understands basic English.
