Talk about a close shave. The lorry was driving too fast to overtake vehicles parking by the side of the road.
A video circulating online shows a lorry driver who seem to have lost control, narrowly hitting a car, before hitting some vehicles parked on the other side of the road. The lorry then proceed to bend into his original lane, mounting a curb, hitting a tree and then proceeding to a halt by hitting the wall.
It is unsure whether anyone is injured from this video. We hope the relevant authorities have taken action.
Also, insurance premium is going to be a killer for this guy.
The Police are looking for the woman shown in the image below to assist with investigations into a case of shop theft that occured along Yishun Avenue 9 on 8 October 2018 at about 8.25pm.
Anyone with information is requested to call the Police Hotline at 1800-255-0000 or submit information online via www.police.gov.sg/iwitness. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
Drivers take note wild boar’s spotted at Pasir Ris Drive 10.
Typically comes out at night to find food. Do remember do drive slow to avoid hitting the animals. Cause you cant claim insurance from the animal right?
I chance upon this article by researchers from the University of Leeds (England) that hand dryers in toilets are far from clean.
What the hand dryer does its blowing bacteria from one’s hands and spread the bacteria into the air. An experiment was conducted paper towels vs air dryers.
A shocking result that, hand dryers actually spread up to 27 times the amount of bacteria in the toilet compared to paper towels.
Air dryers are everywhere in Singapore, I wonder if there is a regulation or any studies done by the HSA on public toilet safety standards.
So earlier at 5.40ish pm today, i was at esso along telok blangah towards harbourfront to pump my petrol. While at the counter to make payment, the uncle in front of me had a dispute with the cashier. He had claimed that he only asked for $30 worth of petrol while the pump attendant had pumped full tank.
This is a repeat of the fuel 10/full tank incident- remember the $10 bmw guy? The cashiers told me that the pump attendant REPEATEDLY asked him how much he wanted to pump and he said full tank. However at the cashier, he insisted that he only asked for $30.
When the cashiers asked him to speak with the manager, he refused! Why would a person who claims he is right not want to speak to the higher authority?? Seems suspicious right..And aft 10% discount he paid $27 for $90 worth of petrol. When the pump attendant attended to me, he repeated aft me too..im sure this is a protocol to prevent such disputes especially after the $10 bmw guy’s story went viral..
The poor pump attendant will have the $60 deducted off his pay i was told. The pump attendant looked a bit special to me (minor autism or minor down syndrome look- im not sure this part and im not being judgemental. This is just a guess. He could be normal.) But the uncle probably thought he could make a fool out of other people. Seriously if there were 10 of such others, how much would be deducted from the pump attendant’s pay. They are not earning much to begin with..How can we ensure that this does not happen to them? Record the convo before pumping in case of dispute??
Collect the amount first before pumping?? This is absolutely ridiculous to me. Uncle, so u got free petrol ah? Does that make u happy while making others miserable. Damn *ssh*le right. Do grab on free petrol by fooling the pump attendant? SJN4894T u better be careful of karma.
(Please help to share this post in the hopes that the poor pump attendant will not be penalised and that he need not pay the $60 difference.)

On 14 October 2018 at about 9.20pm, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers stopped a departing Malaysia-registered bus driven by a male Malaysian for checks at the Tuas checkpoint. The ICA officers spoke to the 37-year-old driver and noticed that he was visibly nervous. Sensing something amiss, the officers conducted thorough checks of the bus and found a man hiding in the luggage compartment.
2. Preliminary investigations revealed that the “illegal passenger” is a 25-year-old male Indian national who is due to appear in Court for another case. The driver was promised SGD $700 by an unknown agent if he successfully conveyed the male Indian national out of Singapore illegally. The driver and the man will be charged in court on 16 October for offences under the Immigration Act.
3. The ICA takes a serious view of attempts by foreigners who overstay, enter or depart Singapore illegally. Under the Immigration Act (Cap 133), the penalties for overstaying or illegal entry are a jail term of up to six months plus a minimum of three strokes of the cane, while the penalties for illegal departure is a fine of up to $2,000, a jail term of up to six months, or both.
4. Our borders are our first line of defence in safeguarding Singapore’s security. The ICA will continue to conduct security checks on passengers and vehicles at the checkpoints to prevent attempts to smuggle in undesirable persons, drugs, weapons, explosives and other contrabands.
