NZ ANG MOH MOLESTED BEER PROMOTER AND GAVE 50 CENTS TIP WHEN CONFRONTED, JAILED

Photo above taken as example.

The New Zealander was on a holiday in Singapore when he did the crime. Mr Jeffrey Bruce Shearer, a sheep farmer, was jailed 6 months for outraging of woman’s modesty.

The incident took place at a coffee shop in Jurong West, where he was drinking with his father-in-law. It was understood that they shared 2 bottles from the beer promoter at 9:30pm, and ordered another bottle 30 minutes later.

Mr Shearer was told that the beer costs $6. He then gave her $6.10 and said that 10 cents was a tip from him. She accepted and thanked him for the gesture. They then proceed to communicate in English, which the beer promoter could not understand.

Mr Shearer then started go give her a perverted smile and grabbed her right breast. She pushed him away. When she confronted him, he simply laughed it off and offered her 50 cents, which she rejected.  The beer promoter then proceeds on telling the other diners about this incident and she was advised to call her husband.

Her husband proceeded to call the police after this incident.

Mr Shearer’s lawyer pleaded for a big fine or jail of not more than 2 months. The court ordered for 6 months jail instead.

For this action, Mr Shearer could have been jailed for 2 years, fined or caned.

16 YEAR OLD E-SCOOTER RIDER INJURED AT WOODLANDS. 2ND INCIDENT OF THE DAY!

Sad to hear of the death of the adult rider in the previous incident.

Condolences to the family. Hopefully, the 16 year old, of this 2nd incident, makes good recovery.

Time for LTA to do every day for a month, at the very least, nation-wide enforcement against illegal e-scooters/e-bikes [modified or not registered] and also illegal use of such vehicles on the expressways, roads and other passageways not open to them. Thereafter, the frequency can be reduced [but nation-wide please] to twice a week, at the very least.

If there can be enforcement on a regular basis by relevant authorities against vice and illegal moneylending, I do not see why we cannot have similar force of enforcement in relation to e-scooters/e-bikes. Why wait for someone to stomp, or for an accident to happen, before LTA becomes aware of violation! It is time for LTA to prove its worth as a resourceful and responsible enforcement agency. The public has every right to demand that LTA up its enforcement frequencies, and its standard and quality of service to the nation. It is unacceptable for LTA to even offer the excuse that it does not have sufficient human resources to do the job. This is easily overcome – go employ more Singaporeans and pay them their fair wages.

POLICEMAN HELP CATCH SNAKE EVEN BEFORE AVA ARRIVES. KUDOS TO THIS MAN!

On 27 Nov 2017, a snake was spotted in my HDB unit at Bukit Batok at around 12:15PM. We contacted the police hotline and seek for assistance. The operator for the police hotline advised my brother to contact Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) instead. Upon the arrival of AVA at around 2:40PM, the snake was missing in the house despite our constant monitoring.

Therefore, the personnel from ACRES advised my family to contact them again should the snake appear again. Our neighbour, Inspector Fariz Bin Mohamad Noor of Clementi Police Division came to know about the incident as my family members shared with him about the incident earlier on. He assured my family members and told us that if we find the snake again at home, feel free to contact him anytime.

For the entire day on 27 Nov 2017, we could not find the snake in the house until late morning of 28 Nov 2017. I contacted Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) immediately and the operator said the team would need about 30 minutes to arrive. Although it was identified by AVA through a WhatsApp photo that it’s a Paradise Tree Snake, I contacted Inspector Fariz for his assistance. Despite, Inspector Fariz was not being at home at the point of time, he extended his help to assist my family and I in capturing the snake before the arrival of AVA personnel. He released the snake back to its habitat after capturing it.

My family and I will like to express our deepest gratitude and compliment towards the courageous and helpful Inspector Fariz, who goes beyond his core duties as a law enforcer to provide help for people around him and has shown extraordinary compassion to living creatures. He truly demonstrated the ‘Kampong Spirit’ in assisting those that are in need of help. Singapore Police Force will always have my full respect and support.

Thank you Inspector Fariz, it’s truly honourable to have a have a selfless officer in the Singapore Police Force. Please continue to serve with pride and dignity for the people of Singapore.

CHINATOWN’S SHOP DETERRING SHOPLIFTERS WITH “FREE RIDE IN A POLICE CAR”

In this day and age, almost every shop in Singapore would already have at least a simple CCTV system to deter theft.

Some shops at Chinatown are even more creative, they put the sign

“Win a FREE ride in a police car just by shoplifting from this store”

China is always crowded due to the amount of tourist in the area. Where there is more people, more crimes occurred. Reminder to everyone out there, there is cameras everywhere. Please don’t be a fool.

NETIZEN CLAIMS 3RD PARTY FORWARDER AGENT’S BULLIES CUSTOMER.

I have been a loyal longtime customer of 3rd party forwarding agent, Sgshop for more than 2 years. But recently, a hiccup happened and they started showing their true colours with their unprofessionalism.
I placed an order for a HP case with instructions given to them to opt for a particular design. However, their CS person (customer service) made a mistake by not re-confirming with me the order and went ahead to purchase the wrong design. Naturally I got a shock of my life because I paid extra for Express shipping for the item and got the wrong item. Upon approaching them, they firmly stuck to their denial and insist that no refunds or compensation is to be given.
The whole matter ding-dong over a week with them repeating the same excuse when I have told them about their flawed system. It seems that you cannot ask any questions pertaining to your orders UNLESS you make full payment. But when you make full payment, they will mess up your order if they are careless (unlucky customer whoever you are) and not take responsibility for it. End up, its a huge waste of money for the customer. This is only one of the mistake they made. I had a 2nd order for a porcelain plate which the CS person had assured me that he would inform their China warehouse CS team to take a photo and send it to me before shipping it out to Singapore. None of this happened even when I chased them for it (because I tracked my shipments daily).
Back to the HP case, since the item was $15 in total and I didn’t wana waste my time on this, I dropped the matter. I cc-ed the CEO about this and he didn’t even bother to look into the matter. Such a management!
Yesterday (28 Nov), I redo a new order of the HP case through them for the same item and this time, I gave much more clear and specific instructions to them so that they wouldn’t mess up my order n give lame excuses again for their carelessness. Guess what? The people decided to bully me.
They cancelled the order for me and refuse to ship it for me. Now they got new excuse that the item is ‘branded’ and goes against their policy of branded goods. If its really true, why then did they previously able to ship similar goods that are ‘branded’ to me? Not the first purchase and not the only purchase too. Why now then prohibit it? I have currently a few outstanding orders with them and I am pretty sure they will F up my orders by ordering the wrong items and I cant do anything about it because their stupid policy is, “Pay first. We order for you but if we F up, you won’t get your money back”.
So for buyers using Sgshop merchant as your 3rd party agent please be forewarned, you are better off getting other agents than Sgshop because if you have any complaints about a wrong order as a result of their mistake, they seem to blacklist you. I have always believed that companies do not take personal attacks on customers that they do not like but this incident seems to prove me wrong that such companies actually do exists.
Best Regards,
Ong Jasmine

ATTN DOG LOVERS WHO ARE LOOKING FOR A DOG! WHY NOT ADOPT?

And we are back to Ollie, who’s been with us for 2 months now, without any interest.

He was bailed out from the pound early Oct and is a great sport to have. An active 2 year old, Ollie likes to be with female dogs and is an absolute joy to have around.

He’s very affectionate, and always hangs around his fosterers when they’re home. Ollie is also completely grass trained, sterilized, vaccinated and chipped. He’ll need a firm handler while on walks as he tends to pull when he sees something that catches his interest.

He’d make a great companion for anyone who leads an active lifestyle; cycling, long walks, even swimming by the beach.

Sadly, Ollie is not of HDB approved size and only private property dwellers can adopt him.

If you’d like to meet Ollie, please drop us a PM or text to 97890569.

Adopt a Special, adopt Ollie!
