HALIMAH’S ANGRY NEIGHBOUR WRITE LETTER FOR HER DEMANDING SHE MOVE OUT

Dear Halimah,

Ok, thank you very much, the show has been fun, but please move on now. We are quite upset that you have indicated that you will stay in your Yishun flat instead of moving to the Istana. Please consider the following points:

1) By insisting on staying in your flat in Yishun, you are causing a major inconvenience toy our neighbours. Already, 2 parking spots downstairs have been reserved for police vehicles, as well, the constant stream of reporters, and other members of your presidential entourage complete for parking space in an already scarce parking lot. Look at the size of the parking lot, you can see how small it is, it’s not a multi storey parking structure. How and where are we going to park our vehicles? We as locals are being flooded by a deluge of non resident parking in our area, much akin to our locals being flooded by a deluge of FTs.

2) Please dignify the Presidential appointment by residing in the official residence. This is the highest office in the land. All our prior Presidents have accorded it the respect it deserves by residing in the official residence where they easily entertain foreign guests and dignitaries. The residence of the President lends prestige and honour to the position. A HDB flat does not. There is a multimillion $ budget created for the upkeep and maintenance of the Istana. If you are not planning to reside there, then it’s just taxpayer money that is wasted, or do you care at all? Obviously, you are not going to entertain foreign VIP guests in your flat, which means you have to commute every day in your entourage of police outrider bikes and police cars to fulfill your duties at the Istana. For a govt that is harping on productivity and for a supposed Union chief, this does not sound to productive to me, versus staying in the Istana and walking to your appointments. Is this a case of “You can take the Makcik out of the kampong, but you cannot take the kampong out of the makcik?”

3) Already, the Police and other assorted SOs are stopping everyone around the area to ask for their IC and their business. People living in the neighbouring blocks have to go through police questioning every time they leave and return home. Maybe this means nothing to you. But it does mean something to us. You have claimed that your flat was very convenient. That’s great. Others are being inconvenience so that you can remain convenient.

4) If you think that you are being like one of the people by staying in your HDB flat, we want to tell you that the Elected President Non election show was already too much, the show has ended but you are continuing the wayang. In the first place, no heartlanders have a flat size of yours. Your own husband Mr Mohamed Adullah Alhabshee, said was ‘as huge as a penthouse’. We all know you obtained your flat by buying 2 units and then tearing the war down between the 2 flats to make a jumbo flat. How many flat dwellers live in a flat that is as big as yours? They will be lucky to have a flat half the size. And they will receive a letter from HDB lawyers if they went ahead to tear down a common wall between 2 units. Lets be clear on one thing. You have not live like a common HDB flat dweller, you have earned your money the hard way like a common person, and you sure are not like a HDB dweller. So, lets drop the wayang.

So, for all these reasons listed above, kindly pack up as soon as possible and vacate the premises.

NETIZEN FEEL THAT WE SHOULD NEVER STOP EXERCISING YOUR CHOICE BECAUSE THERE STILL HOPE

I just landed at Changi to news of the confirmation of Mdm President. Did I hold my head up a little higher, stand up a little straighter, walk a little bolder? You know, because #malay #woman#represent! Well, not at all actually.

As i was figuring out my feelings and thoughts, i was interrupted by a sharp “Kak, sini.” It was the customs officer pointing me to the manual counter because my fingerprints don’t work despite 6 tries on the machine. Yes, my fingerprints don’t work. Not the machine.

Having collected my luggage, i went in search of halal chwee kueh, chee cheong fun and homemade iced lemon tea. At the cafe, i placed my order and the cashier repeated it, but instead of lemon tea, she said honey lemon. i corrected her, “No, homemade iced lemon tea.” “No, honey lemon. Lemon tea no more,” she insisted. “Oh… but i dont want honey lemon,” i said apologetically while bewildered at why am i the one apologetic. She stared at me while stifling a yawn and so i said, “Give me iced milo then.” And immediately regretted my decision. Diabetes. PM just started a war against diabetes, particularly against the Malay/ Indian diet, whatever that means, and here i am getting sugared up the first thing upon landing. She proceeds to scoop heaping spoonfuls of milo powder from the tin. It bears the Healthier Choice symbol.

It’s time to Grab home and i weighed my options. The ‘right’ thing to do would be to go back down to Arrivals and get a Grab from there. No wait, but the rightest thing to do would be to queue up for a traditional taxi. Since i wasn’t gonna do the rightest thing, and luggage plus dabao food is a hassle to drag all the way back down, i decided to take my chances and try to get a Grab from a Departures door. It was a quiet night anyway, there were hardly any cars at Departures. I took extra care to indicate clearly on the app that i’m waiting at Door 2 of Departures. Moments later, i got matched to a driver and it wasn’t long before he called me. I picked up the call and before he could say anything, i clarified that i was at Departures as per what i wrote in the notes. Expectedly, he berated me for my foolishness and told me to go down to Arrivals immediately. Okay. i clumsily hurried down, half hoping he would just cancel my booking. It wouldn’t be difficult to get another Grab at Arrivals anyway.

At the lift, i pressed the down button, but when the lift arrived, a porter pushed rows of trolleys in immediately. i stared at him as he ignored me and continued on with his work. When the lift was full with trolleys, i had expected him to get in and go down with the lift. Bt he didn’t. He exited and the lift stalled. For very long. Passive aggressive me slammed the down button. Now he finally looks at me and says, “Jangan picit.” Grumpy at the lack of lemon tea and having to chase after a Grab booking, i was going to start an argument with him, when another lift came down. i pressed the down button smugly, supposedly to help open the doors for those exiting, but really to annoy the porter.

When I finally found my Grab, the driver repeated again that i shouldn’t have waited at Departures. “Ya i know, i was just trying my luck.” “Cannot… if we go to Departures ah, can kena saman you know!” “i know.”

***
i know. i know.
i know that the machines don’t always work in Singapore, but it’s really my fault for not doing more to make it work. Like, who ask you to have dry fingers that the machine can’t read? Who ask you to not have richer or more qualified Malay candidates?

i know that in Singapore, you can’t always have what you want. Like homemade iced lemon tea when it runs out. Or Tan Cheng Bock. And when it runs out, i should immediately accept the closest alternative that the cashier provides. The cashier is smart; she knows you like things with lemon, and Malay president, and it’s about time you got your lemon, hence she suggested honey lemon instead. And only honey lemon. Why so clever ask for Milo? And you forgot right that Milo is not good for you? See lah. Next time just accept the professional suggestion straight away. Nevermind that milo also has the Healthier Choice symbol. Or that Farid and Salleh were originally told that the committee may consider their appeal for not being exactly rich enough.

i know that not everyone likes to explain themselves in Singapore; they just want to get their jobs done, nevermind if it upsets or inconveniences you along the way. It’s ok, you can wait for the eventuality and find out yourself. Like the porter who let me press the button and wait for the lift, knowing that when it comes, he would just ram his trolleys in, leaving me no chance at boarding. Or this election where they allowed honest people to nominate themselves and put in the deposit, knowing that they would just disqualify them when the election date nears. He didn’t have to explain anything to me before or after, i would be upset either way, so why bother.

i know that in Singapore there are rules. Rules that everyone has to play by even if you don’t agree with them or don’t think they make sense in the least bit. Like no pickups at Departures. And no Tan Cheng Bock at Reserved Election. Nevermind that i already said that i’m waiting at Departures and yet you chose to go ahead and accept my booking. Nevermind that everyone, non-Malays and Malays, said that they don’t want a reserved election, you still went ahead with it.

i know. But you can never stop me from continuing to try my luck, exercise my agencies of choice, and passive-aggressively register my disdain. Because hope. One day, the damn machine may just read my fingerprint. One day, the cashier may sincerely apologise for not being able to fulfill my wants. One day, the porter may just give way to me. One day, someone may just stick it up with me, and fetch me from the Departures already. Risking saman. Because hope.

SINGAPOREAN AT DIMSUM RESTAURANT MADE UNREASONABLE REQUEST TELL THE STAFF I CAN VIDEO YOU BECAUSE I SINGAPOREAN!

0

SHARE IT until he see it!

What a disgrace Singaporean I had just encounter!
(I’ve never once thinking to post this kind but it affect me a lot when he started to video me!)

A group of Singaporean (7 adult and 1 kid) dine-in the restaurant I’m working at. What they’ve ordered was quite alot and my staff did inform them that they have order quite a lot and they said it’s ok. After their order, most of the dishes served and they still add on two more orders. Lastly two dimsum order came and they said they order too much and want it not to be served when my server bring it to them (it was deep fried dimsum).

So my restaurant manager said cannot return and so I went over and told them this was a deep fried order, we can’t possible to put it in the fridge and fried it again for the next customers. And he starter to say is ok if you want it to serve us when we don’t want, I can simply post this on Facebook and see whether you can hold this responsible for it not, the moment he is able to start his phone video, he said ‘I’m a Singaporean and I can just post it). What I did next? I just said it into the phone and say, ‘I’M A SINGAPOREAN TOO!’

Damn, what a disgrace! Stop thinking none of the service crew won’t fight back la! C*B, You can’t eat so much when you’re fat then don’t order so much and when the order is served, you ask to return! Stupid brainless peopl

[Non-SG] NETIZEN FEEL HEARTEN THAT EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF RACE “MOURNED” FOR THE FALLEN SOLDIER!

My plane landed in Oklahoma City last night. When we stopped at the terminal, the pilot announced that he would like to inform us that we were flying one of our fallen soldiers home to her family. He asked that we remain on the plane until our soldier was removed from the plane first. He also asked that we give a moment of silence.

As we sat there waiting, I decided to look out the window and this is what I saw. A mother and father hysterically crying on their fallen soldiers casket. Standing off to the side were soldiers from her unit saluting their fallen soldier.

This moment hit me hard for some reason. I couldn’t hold back tears. As I looked around the plane, I was hoping nobody would see my moment of weakness but to my surprise, damn near everyone on the plane was crying.

The woman standing next to me was Muslim, I assume because of the hijab she wore. She was in tears and she tried consoling the woman next to her. The plane was filled with people of all races and religions. It was amazing to see everyone on that plane pay tribute to this woman and her family.

The media is what divides us. I saw no division on that plane last night. I saw Americans paying respect to their countryman. A woman who put her life on the line for me, and you, and your freedoms.

She died like many before her to give you the right to spit in her face while taking a knee during our national anthem or burning our flag in the street.

CHILDCARE CENTER OWNER WAS INVOLVED IN FRAUD CASE! SINGLE MOM UNABLE TO GET DEPOSIT BACK!

This post is a post pleading for desperate assistance and advices.

I am a single mother who has placed my 18 months old child in a childcare centre in Macpherson area. It is a nice place and my child is happy being there for 1 month now.

However, this month, September 2017, a bad news hit us. A fellow parent came to me on 12 September 2017 asking if I have read the news. I told her that I didn’t know about it and approached the principal to ask what was the news going around about. The principal shared with me that the owner has been sued for fraud but the childcare centres under them have not been given any instructions.

On the next day, the school contacted all the parents and gave them a date to attend a meeting to discuss this matter.

On 16th September 2017, 10am, the meeting was held by the childcare owner’s husband. Despite him not being the shareholder of the entity, he conducted the meeting. He apologized on behalf of his wife who was involved in the fraud case and convicted by the law. He told us that the school will cease operation by the end of the month. It came as a shock to us. We asked him if we would get back our deposits which we made upon enrolmment which is about $1000 over. We also asked him if necessary arrangements have been made to place our children in another childcare centre as this has been informed in a very short notice. He remained silent and did not give us any answers.

We questioned him further on whether ECDA will help us.
The response we got from him was that ECDA did visit the place but only to ensure all children are safe for the time being.

How is that sufficient? Is that all the government is doing for us?
I am a single mother who took time to raise the money for the deposit and school fees to place my child in a childcare centre so I can go to work and support my family.

What kind of security are we getting after placing such a big sum of deposit and yet not able to get it back now?

More than 20 children in the childcare centre have no childcare centre to go to in 2 weeks’ time. More than 20 parents’ deposits are stuck with the childcare centre.

Where is our support and help? We, as parents, believe ECDA is watching over childcare centres to ensure it runs well. In such crisis, why are we not receiving help from any of the organizations and authorties. We are helpless now.

Why is the government not taking action on all these operators? This is the 2nd case happening along Macpherson.

Please advise us on what we can do in this situation.

STATE MEDIA REPORTED: SILENT PROTEST FEW HUNDRED ATTENDANCE. FACT IS ABOUT 3000

******** Thank You for a Fantastic Occasion ! *******

It was a great occasion at Hong Lim Park today , made more special by the attendance of Dr Tan Cheng Bock .

The Straits Times has grossly under-reported the number of attendees , putting the numbers at a few hundred . My friends , there were at least 2500-3000 of us there .

Once again , thank you for your support in standing up for democracy and meritocracy in Singapore and rejecting blatant racialism which threatens to tear apart our society .

ANG MOH BRIBE F1 SECURITY OFFICER TO LET THEM ENTER RACE TRACK

Our reader alerted us to a post by this ang moh who boasted about getting onto the F1 tracks after bribing a security officer. Fortunate for them but unfortunate for the officer, he agreed to let them enter and even took a photo for them.

She wrote: “3am in the morning. Bribed the security guard to let us onto the track. He not only agreed, he took the photo. Non F1 fans won’t understand this, but most of us will”

Can meh? Wonder how much they paid him!
