I live in bukit merah view which is a very old estate with high percentage of old folks. Tangkis or Home Shrines are a plenty here.The open field between blk 123/130 is frequently rented out to taoist/religious groups who will burn large amounts of incense papers daily.

In the picture, u can see home shrine devotees burning large amounts of incense papers in concrete octagon burner beside blk 129, leaving behind large quantities of ashes which will be carried by winds to our homes and lungs.

u can even see a devotee from home shrine burning large container of food/incense powder around 12am and it continues to burn throughout the night, thus another sleepless night for residents of blk 123 and surrounding blocks.

I hope the town council, member of parliament and government agencies can step in to control these activites so largescale burning of incense papers can be controlled.bukit merah view is our homes, not a “Home Shrines Haven”, please help.

I was wearing a tee shirt and skorts (nowhere revealing) while waiting for bus and caught this uncle secretly taking photos and videos of me. I wasn’t sure if he was taking photos of me so I hid behind a board to see if he follows and sure he did!!!

I confronted him to stop but caught him secretly taking it again shortly after.

So I confronted him again!

He refused to delete the photos/videos even though I SAW photos/videos of ME in his camera roll and recently deleted album!!

When I took out my phone to take video of him as evidence, he was shaken by my move and started calling me crazy. He refused to stay when I wanted to call the police. He escaped the scene by crossing the road and boarded a random bus that came!

You can clearly hear him say “I delete already” in the video and then deny again by saying “No la, I don’t take anything”.

He was in office wear (Pen in his shirt pocket, laptop shoulder bag and covered shoes)

Who knows what he does to the pictures taken and how many photos of girls have he taken without permission?

It is dangerous to have a pervert around this area as there are many primary and secondary school students around.

I am utterly disgusted by his action.

Would really appreciate if someone can help to identity this uncle.

A young 5 year-old boy has died in hospital from his injuries after he was struck by a falling tree along Bukit Timah.

The incident took place at 4PM on 17 August.

The boy’s father had brought his whole family over to Singapore while he is here for work. The family were out and about along Bukit Timah when the tree fell, striking the boy and causing him serious injuries.

A call for prayer was posted on Facebook by a church friend asking for the boy’s friends and family members to pray for his recovery.

Doctors could not operate on the boy as his condition was unstable

An AETOS officer working at Woodlands Checkpoint has gotten into hot water after performing an admirable and heroic deed by saving this monitor lizard from being crushed to death by a motorcycle or being sent off to its doom at the hands of pest controllers.

I have a similar problem. I defaulted on my bank loan for HDB flat cause CPF stopped paying when I turned 55 years.

I normally pay 725 in monthly installments but when I defaulted, DBS charging me late fees of about $ 1000 monthly . My default amount was about $4,000. I have since paid more than
$11 000 but according to DBS , I am still in arrears.

DBS have also started legal proceedings to repossess my flat.

I have my next court date on 8th September. The judge will most probably rule against me and allow DBS to repossess my home.

I have all documents and correspondence and payments proof. I also have the latest statement of my bank loan which DBS initially refused to give me until ordered by the courts.

I have sent an appeal to my MP, but now almost more than a month and completely no response.

After I turned 55, CPF transfers funds from OA to RA. but I still had some funds in OA until exhausted in May 2016.

As I was overseas, I did not receive any mail from DBS regarding default until November when they sent me an email.

After getting confirmation that CPF approved to transfer more funds to OA to service the loan on 9th December, I informed DBS.

1st march they started proceedings against me. 17th March monies was transferred.

I have spoken to DBS many times to reconsider their high interest and even send them email thru their lawyers but all have been rejected.

What should I do?
