For the longest time, there was only one place to go when you wanted to experience a true Singaporean nightlife – Geylang. But in recent years, the scene has changed. The opening of Jurong Vision Exchange (JVX) has shifted the focus from Geylang to this new entertainment complex.
I recently had the opportunity to visit JVX and experience its unique nightlife. As soon as I stepped into the complex, I was in awe of its vibrant atmosphere. The red lights, loud music, and hundreds of people made it feel like a completely different world.
The first thing I noticed was the abundance of Chao Ah Bengs. Everywhere I looked, there were people dressed in the iconic Chao Ah Beng outfits, with no two outfits looking the same. Some were dressed in the traditional checkered shirts and slacks, while others opted for the modernized version, with bright colors and bold patterns.
The Chao Ah Bengs were not just there for show. They were actively engaging with customers, talking to them, dancing with them, and even teaching them how to do some of the traditional moves. It was truly a sight to behold.
The Chao Ah Bengs were also the stars of the night.
Of course, the night would not be complete without the drinks. JVX has an impressive selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Whether you prefer a beer, wine, or a cocktail, they have something for everyone.
The drinks were not the only highlight of the night. There were also a variety of food stalls set up around the complex, offering everything from local favorites like satay and bak kut teh to international dishes like pho and sambal.
Overall, my experience at JVX was incredible. The Chao Ah Bengs added a unique flavor to the nightlife, and the food and drinks were delicious. I would definitely recommend a visit to JVX to anyone looking for a fun and unique night out.
