Facebook user Kritiwat Matrong, shared photos of children in Thailand opening smoking marijuana using bamboo pipes on a beach in the Chon Buri province of eastern Thailand, according to The Thaiger.
He said that he saw the children between the ages of 9 to 10 smoking while he was on his way to see some fireworks in Pattaya.
The man said that he approached the kids and warns them against smoking, and one of the kids then purportedly told him “my father is a soldier, I’m not scared of you.”
Matrong then reported the children to the authorities.
He said in his post, “I know now ganja is free, but shouldn’t we have boundaries? I pity these children, they are still young.”
Cannabis was legalised in Thailand back in June, but there has been little to no legislation to regulate its use by young children.
One of the laws is that cannabis cannot be used or sold by anyone under 20, but the drug is so accessible that it can reportedly be bought from street vendors, resulting in some kids getting their hands on some.
