CHOW YUN FAT 67-YEARS-OLD ALREADY, BUT STILL CAN COMPLETE 10KM RUN IN 1 HOUR

67-year-old Hong Kong veteran actor Chow Yun Fat, took part in the Standard Chartered HK Marathon on 12 February, clocking in an impressive 1 hour, 3 minutes and 58 seconds for the 10km race.

Hong Kong news outlet HK01 reported that Chow ran an average of 6 minutes and 24 seconds per kilometre, meanwhile some of our younger, able-bodied NSFs are clocking in 15 minutes for their 2.4km IPPT run.

What makes Chow Yun Fat’s timing so impressive is the fact that he is 67 years old, and his fellow competitors were much younger than him at the race.

The Straits Times reported that Chow had trained for the race for more than a year and even hired a coach to help him prepare for the run.

Chow said that his coach advised him not to run too fast because there was a slope ahead; he jogged slowly at the start to conserve his energy and sped up towards the end of the race.

The humble legend of Hong Kong cinema was later approached by fans and other runners for selfies after finishing the race.

Other celebrities who took part in the race include TVB actress Sisley Choi, actor Dickson Yu, and model Inez Leong.

  4. Those old fellas who love to tell ppl running give us bad knees, bad this n that , are likely those never excercise a day in their life or at least did not TRAIN with qualified coaches which resulted them having injuries.
    Those into their 50s can be as fast , as strong as our younger counterparts in their 30s or 40s , but all these come with a price…living a healthy lifestyle , discipline and consistent training to be able to go the extra distance.
    I can outdo my 21 old athlete son in a 1 minute pushups , 41reps vs 50reps for a 58yo , though must admit I do not have his explosive power .
    All the athletism, mobility and flexibility adaptations can still be achieved even past 55yo…but do not expect to see result in a few months though some kinda of improvements do occur given the work put in.
