According to CNA, the Pasir Ris – Punggol Town Council said that a 54-year-old man had died on 16 October in an incident that happened inside a central refuse chute compactor room.

The incident took place at Block 623C Punggol Central and the SCDF were called in at about 8.15am.
A photo circulated on Facebook showing a motionless man with his head stuck inside the refuse chute.
The man was a block sweeper and was found motionless and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Town Council’s spokesperson said that the cleaner had succumbed to his injuries and died.

The police said that no foul play was suspected and that investigations are ongoing.
