An accident involving 3 cars and a lorry took place along the Central Expressway (CTE) on Sunday (9 April) morning, resulting in 3 people being arrested for suspected drink driving and one person being sent to the hospital.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said that they were alerted on 9 April at about 7.15 am to the accident that took place along the CTE heading towards the Seletar Expressway (SLE) after the Jalan Bahagia exit.
The police said that two men aged 27 and 47, along with another 29-year-old woman, were arrested for suspected drink driving.
The driver of the lorry involved in the accident, a 33-year-old man, was conveyed to the hospital conscious, with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) saying that he was brought to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
TikTok user @ataho31016 posted a video of the aftermath of the accident, showing a lorry lying on its side as the entire roads were blocked off.
The accident resulted in two lanes being cordoned off with the heavy traffic jam continuing even after 10 am, as vehicles at the back of the jam honked in frustration.
Workers could be seen trying to clear the roads of the stricken vehicles as the traffic waited impatiently.
