In the early morning of Tuesday, August 22, the lifeless body of a 50-year-old man was found in the waters of Keppel Bay and pronounced dead at the scene after being retrieved from the water by the authorities, according to The Straits Times.
Dead body found in the Keppel Bay waters
The serene ambience of Keppel Bay was shattered when the lifeless body of a middle-aged man was discovered in its waters.
The body was pronounced dead by a paramedic from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) after being retrieved from the waters, and according to the Singapore Police Force’s preliminary investigations, they are not suspecting any foul play in the death.
The call for assistance was received at 8:40 a.m. The call originated from 2 Keppel Bay Vista, the location of Marina at Keppel Bay.
As the details of this tragic event unfolded, it was revealed that the deceased was a crew member associated with a boat that was berthed at Marina at Keppel Bay, according to a spokesperson for them.
They said that the authorities were immediately alerted to the incident but they are unable to comment any further at the moment because the case is currently under police investigation.
Recent spate of dead bodies being found
Just a couple of days ago on 19 August, the decomposing body of a 49-year-old man was found on the grass patch at Republic Polytechnic.
Landscape workers were trimming the grass at the time when they discovered the body and subsequently alerted the authorities.
A few days before that, the dead body of a 35-year-old man was found in the waters near the Punggol Jetty on 6 August after he had been reported missing earlier that day.
The police were earlier alerted to a suspected case of drowning before the body was found and retrieved from the waters, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.
On 7 August, the decomposing body of a 34-year-old male delivery driver was found inside a car at Upper Changi Road, at a carpark near the Apollo Gardens condominium.
A brown liquid was seen oozing out from the driver’s seat of the vehicle, filling the air with a nauseating odour that lingered around the vicinity.Â
A week before that, the dead body of a 35-year-old man was found floating in the waters of Changi, and he was believed to have drowned.
