The dead body of a man was found inside a canal at Geylang East Park earlier this morning (5 August).

The area was cordoned off by police officers who arrived at the scene at about 9am, and multiple police and SCDF vehicles were seen at the scene.
Several plainclothes police officers were also at the scene, along with Gurkha officers and police dogs who arrived at about 11.15am.
Witnesses there spoke to TheHomeGround Asia, saying that the deceased in the drain was half dressed and that there was also a pool of blood near the canal where he was found.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
