In a shocking incident that occurred in the early hours of June 17, 2025, two Chinese men were shot dead outside the VIVA HOME shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur. The attack is believed to be linked to gang-related revenge.

Incident Details

The victims, identified as Xu Lugang (44 years old) and Chi Shiqiu (42 years old), were reportedly well-known figures in the local Fuzhou gang scene in Sibu, Sarawak. Xu had a criminal record that included four offenses, one of which was murder, while Chi had a prior conviction related to gang activities.

According to eyewitness accounts, the shooting took place around midnight as the two men were walking towards the mall’s entrance to retrieve their vehicle. Four assailants, all wearing masks, ambushed them and opened fire. After the victims fell to the ground, the gunmen continued to shoot at them before fleeing the scene.

Scene of the Crime

The shooting occurred near the MY NEWS store on the ground floor of the shopping mall. A parked car at the scene was found with bullet holes in the windshield and hood, indicating the severity of the attack. Witnesses reported that the assailants seemed to have been waiting for the victims, suggesting that they were aware of their movements.

After the shooting, one of the accomplices picked up the gunmen in a silver ALZA car, aiding their escape.

The Kuala Lumpur police are expected to release more details about the case later today. Authorities are actively investigating the incident, focusing on identifying the shooters and understanding the motive behind the attack.
