A video emerged online showing a driver in Malaysia accidentally speeding into a traffic jam ahead, after a road junction.
The video was shared by Singapore Road Accidents onto their Facebook page on 10 May, earlier this week.
The video begins with the driver stopping at a road junction, and taking off after the traffic light had turned green.
The driver then sped up, possibly thinking the road ahead would be clear as there weren’t many vehicles around him at the time.
He then overtook two motorcycles as his car went slightly uphill, and his vision of the traffic conditions ahead were obscured.
The driver then reached the beginning of the downhill slope of the road and to his horror, there was a huge traffic jam and he couldn’t slow down in time.
The driver then swerved to the left and onto the pavement, as he chanted “jialat jialat jialat jialat” for about 15 times before he managed to slow down.
Talk about a close shave…
