DRIVER SWERVED OUT FROM BUS LANE AFTER SEEING LTA OFFICER AT SIDE OF ROAD

A video has been uploaded onto social media showing an incident where a car was inside a bus lane, trying to use it to cut other cars, then swerved out of the bus lane upon seeing enforcement officers at the side of the road.

The vehicle in question is bearing the vehicle number plate of SMD770K, and its make and model is the Toyota Harrier.

The incident happened at Sims Avenue on 12 Nov 21, a Friday, at around 1716 hours.

The actions of the driver of the Toyota Harrier almost caused a collision with the cam car as it swerved out and almost banged into the the cam car.

Current laws regarding bus lanes

No person shall drive a vehicle other than an omnibus, or cause or permit any such vehicle to remain, on a part-day bus lane during the hours of 7.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m except on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.

Except on any Sunday or public holiday, no person shall drive a vehicle other than an omnibus, or cause or permit any such vehicle to remain, on a full-day bus lane during the hours of 7.30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
