EBIKE BURST INTO FLAMES & BURNT UNTIL CHAO TAH AFTER ACCIDENT WITH CAR, RIDER HOSPITALISED

An ebike burst into flames following an accident with a car on Bencoolen Street, and the ebike rider ended up being sent to the hospital.

Photos and videos of the accident emerged online on 30 December, and the ebike was seen lying on the road while engulfed by the fire.

The car involved in the accident also had smoke coming out of the driver’s door, as a passerby tried to divert traffic away from the scene.

The Singapore Police Force said that they were alerted to the incident on 30 December at about 6.45pm at Bencoolen Street, towards Fort Canning Road.

The fire was put out by the Singapore Civil Defence Force using a water jet, and the 33-year-old ebike rider was conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

The police are currently investigating the incident.
