A 62-year-old man was arrested after attacking his son with a knife during an argument in a flat at Serangoon North on 8 January,
According to Lianhe Zaobao, a loud quarrel was heard emanating from the usually quiet household at around noon and a woman was later heard crying for help.
A neighbour went to check on the woman and saw an older man holding onto a knife while talking to another man and appeared agitated.
Another resident who passed by said that the woman’s write was swollen and there were also bloodstains outside the unit.
The police were later called to the scene, and three police cars and an ambulance later arrived.
The police said that they were alerted to a case of dispute at Block 546 Serangoon North Avenue 3 on 8 January at about 1.35pm.
A 62-year-old man was arrested and a 25-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman were conveyed to the hospital conscious.
The 62-year-old man was charged in court yesterday with one count of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means and is currently out on bail of $15,000.
His trial is due to start on 24 January.
