Ahmad Robinson, 70-years-old, allegedly assaulted a bus driver and was expected to show up in court earlier today to be handed 2 more charges for drugs and a Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Act breach on top of his existing charges- he failed to show up in court.
A warrant of arrest was then issued against him.
What happened?
The assault allegedly took place on 2 November at around 11am, when Ahmad and another man; Aziz Khan Sher Khan, 61-years-old, has boarded a bus without wearing their masks properly.
The bus driver told them to put on their masks properly and they got agitated, and they allegedly attacked the bus driver, Hew Kim Keong, resulting in the victim suffering a broken nasal bone.
The duo were later arrested.
Charged on 3 November
The men were each charged with one count of voluntarily causing grievous hurt, with Khan being charged with theft and allegedly failing to wear his mask properly on the aforementioned bus.
Khan was accused to stealing the victim’s wallet, which had about $700 inside.
He was under a remission order at the time of his alleged offences, and was released from prison last year for an undisclosed offence – he was required to stay out of trouble until 12 January 2022.
He breached the order with his latest alleged offences.
