ELDERLY MAN CHARGED FOR DRINKING IN PUBLIC MULTIPLE TIMES

Liu Ah Bao, 65 years old, face four charges for going against the Corona Disease Act. He was accused of leaving home to drink at a nearby coffeeshop on April 22, 26 and May 1 and 2.

The accused left his home at about 2:15pm and went to the food center at Chinatown. He consumed alcoholic beverages in the public. In addition, he left his home on April 26, May 1 and 2 to drink beer at the nearby coffeeshop.

He appeared in court today (May 22) and said that he did not know what he did wrong. He further stated “If there is something wrong, I will admit it, but I do not know what I did wrong. I went to the hawker center and they asked me to go drink outside. “

The accused claimed that he was unemployed and he had only $250 left in his CPF account. He requested if it was possible to pay the fine in installments.

The case has been adjourned to June 12.
