The incident was captured on video and later uploaded onto social media, where it quickly went viral and amassed more than 80,000 views.

According to the footage, the altercation took place at Victoria Food Court near the junction of Lorong 23 Geylang and Geylang Road.

Argument Turns Violent Outside Coffeeshop

The video initially showed an elderly man dressed in a light brown shirt confronting a middle-aged man wearing a light green shirt.

During the confrontation, the older man was seen grabbing the other by the neckline while both exchanged heated words.

At one point, the elderly man picked up a plastic chair, seemingly threatening to strike the other individual. However, he eventually slammed the chair back down instead of using it.

As tempers flared, the pair repeatedly shoved one another before moving dangerously close to the roadside area.

Moments later, both men fell onto the road while still tightly grappling each other.

Despite ending up on the ground, neither appeared willing to let go.

Younger Bystander Attempts To Break Up Fight

A younger man was also seen stepping in to separate the two men during the scuffle.

However, even after managing to stand back up, both individuals continued clutching onto each other and refused to break apart.

The dramatic nature of the fight drew plenty of reactions online, with many netizens commenting about the age of the men involved.

Some joked that the pair “could barely stand properly” yet still had enough energy to engage in a physical fight.

Others remarked that the combined age of both men likely exceeded 100 years old.

Public Fighting Can Lead To Criminal Charges In Singapore

Several online users also pointed out that public fights may carry serious legal consequences in Singapore.

One commenter referenced Section 267B of the Penal Code, which covers affray — fighting in public in a manner that disturbs public peace.

Individuals convicted under the offence may face penalties including imprisonment of up to one year, fines of up to S$5,000, or both.

Public altercations at coffeeshops and entertainment districts in Singapore frequently attract attention online, especially when captured on video by bystanders.

Authorities have previously warned that even arguments that begin verbally can rapidly escalate into dangerous situations, particularly when objects such as chairs or bottles are involved.
