A shocking incident of domestic violence occurred in Phatthalung province, Thailand, today, leaving one person injured. The incident involved a recently released ex-husband who used a gun to attack his ex-wife’s new husband.

According to reports, the incident took place at 5:45 am behind the municipal fresh market in Mae Khri, Tamod district. The ex-husband, 39-year-old Samran, allegedly forced his ex-wife’s new husband, 57-year-old Chuea, out of his vehicle and shot him in the cheek with a 9mm firearm.

Chuea was rushed to Tamod Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries. Preliminary investigations revealed that Samran had been following Chuea from his home and confronted him at the market, demanding that he go with him at gunpoint. When Chuea resisted, Samran fired the gun, grazing Chuea’s cheek.

The ex-wife, Wassana, shared that Samran had a history of violent behavior, including an acid attack on her two and a half years ago, which left her with severe burns on her body, face, arms, and legs. Samran was prosecuted for the attack and was only released from prison in February 2023.
