An expat based in Singapore said that her family’s basic cost of living in Singapore is $11,650 per month, as she listed down the exorbitant prices that they spend every month.
The expat, @gieziheart, shared on her TikTok account that her family of three pays $4,000 every month for the rental of their 2-bedroom home.
They also pay $350 for their utilities and internet, as well as another $900 for their “transportation allowance”.
The woman added that her family spends another $1,700 on her son’s education and other “extra activities”, as well as another $1,100 for their maid.
For context, the average salary of a maid in Singapore is about $500 to $700 per month.
Additionally, they spend about $500 on toiletries and $1,500 on their groceries, and another $1,600 per month on outings, dining out at restaurants and celebrations.
Their total expenses comes up to about $11,650
