A 43 year old forklift driver was charged for nine charges of raping, criminally intimidating, molesting and hurting his 23 year old daughter.
He contested the charges and claimed that her daughter initiated the sexual acts and he sought to have his rape charges amended to incest.
It was claimed by her daughter that her father had punched her in the head, strangled her and threatened her with a penknife to force her to commit those sexual acts on him which included oral sex. His daughter is currently 27 years old.
The father admitted to committing sexual intercourse with his daughter twice in March 2016 but he denied touching her private parts or threatening her with a penknife and assaulting her.
After raping her, his daughter left the flat, and he called his daughter 36 times and left her messages on her phone stating that he was sorry.
For aggravated rape, the man could be jailed up to 20 years. While the offence also carries a mandatory minimum 12 strokes of the cane, he cannot be caned by law as he is above 50 years old.
