F&B outlet Darts Buddy was fined $5,000 for allowing customers to continue consuming alcohol after 10.30pm and breaching Covid-19 rules.
One other charge of letting patrons play with poker cards was considered during their sentencing.
What happened?
On 29 January at about 10.40pm, police and safe distancing enforcement officers noticed that patrons were going into and leaving the outlet at 28 Beatty Road even with the shutters down.
Darts Buddy’s lawyer, Dhanwant Singh, reasons that the shutters were rolled down to prevent more customers from entering after 10.30pm.
The bar was allowed to serve food until midnight.
DPP Kenneth Kee highlighted that customers were still allowed to enter the bar via a rear door.
