He pleaded guilty to intentionally distributing a woman’s intimate recording without her consent and was sentenced on 9 December to 12 weeks imprisonment.
The identities of the parties involved cannot be named due to a gag order to protect the victim’s identity.
The (former) couple were dating since 2018 and the man filmed them having intercourse with his mobile phone.
The victim had initially allowed him to film it but changed her mind later and told him to delete it, to which the man then lied to her and said that it was deleted.
The couple then had a fight over money and relationship issues at around 20 September.
The victim blocked him on Whatsapp, to which the man then sent the video to her cousin on 26 September at around 4.40 pm, he had wanted to make the victim talk to him because she blocked him on Whatsapp.
The police were then alerted to the incident the next day.
