A fire broke out on 14 November at Block 271C Jurong West Street 24 while the family was celebrating their daughter’s wedding.

The SCDF said that they were alerted about the fire on the 10th floor at around 11.55 pm.
Video footage of the fire emerged on social media.
About 80 residents in the vicinity were evacuated as a precaution as the SCDF combated the fire.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Family at daughter’s wedding during fire
According to The Straits Times, a neighbour of the residents of the affected unit said that the family was not home at the time, they had left home early to celebrate their daughter’s wedding.
