
Pictures of a complaint were recently uploaded on the Facebook page Complaint Singapore after a Foodpanda rider spilled a customer’s order at his door making a big mess. Instead of informing the customer, he ran away and dumped the order at the staircase.

Here is the full story.
I don’t usually share this kind of post but my experience with Foodpanda today was so horrible that I had to voice my opinion.

Today, I ordered drinks amounting to $34.19 via Foodpanda for me and my guests. When I saw on the app that the order was delivered, I went to my door and saw the horrendous mess at my doorstep (see the two photos attached). Obviously, the delivery man somehow spilled the drinks outside my doorstep and left with them. He did not even bother to inform me about this or apologise and just left. To my greater horror, when I trailed the stains at the corridor, it led me to my order which was left at the staircase two flights down. So this delivery man was so irresponsible that he left a big mess at the corridor and left the half spilled drinks at the staircase without a word. (FYI this is considered littering)

Naturally, I contacted Foodpanda Help Center to report the matter (see screenshots of the chat). They promised to return a call within 15min to confirm the redelivery and it delivered within 45min. Obviously I was not going to keep checking on my clock to ensure that they do their recovery since it should be their responsibility to follow up on this promptly. Furthermore, I had to clean the entire corridor and staircase for the mess that that delivery man left behind on top of getting reprimanded by my unhappy neighbour. By the time I was done, one hour passed. No call received and no redelivery done.

I had to recontact Foodpanda Help Center again and repeat my unhappiness. I only wanted my drinks delivered for me and my guests who have waited for two hours by then. And Foodpanda can’t do it. In addition, they can’t do a full refund of my $34.19 because I used a Foodpanda $30 voucher bought on Shopback. After reasoning for super long, the end result was they will offer me a $30 code with a minimum spending of $35(supposedly a refund but still requires minimum spending??) and a $4 voucher to my foodpanda wallet.

For a $34.19 order I made, I wasted more than two hours without receiving my drinks, endured and apologised to my angry neighbour, cleaned the entire corridor and staircase and received $34 back in voucher (means I have to patronise Foodpanda again). This is absurd. After this episode, I will delete Foodpanda from my phone and use Grabfood instead.

P.S. This is not the first issue I face with Foodpanda although previous times they were minor so I let them slide. Their customer service and recovery is really poorly done.

Please help to share around especially if you had similar encounters like me. Consider Grabfood instead.
(FYI for many that are highlighting on no hook or box, there is a hook on the door which the photos did not capture full image of my door because I was more pissed than the rider)

(FYI again, this is just me sharing my bad experience with FP and the rider. Of course there are good service provided by riders from FP and bad service provided by Grab riders. It is consumer’s own preference whether they want to patronise FP or Grab. And honestly, people will still order from FP or Grab despite any bad reviews still.)
