Even if Singapore is known as a very safe country there will always be one or two bad “eggs” that are in the basket.
A 13-year-old girl was pestered by a migrant worker who wanted “sex”. He continuous utter the 3 letter words towards the girl and even tried to follow her home.
According to Today News, the incident took place in Marsiling, the 13-year-old girl was walking home from Marsiling MRT when 28-year-old Hossain Mohammad Akram, a migrant construction worker followed her.
Knowing that the worker is following her, she stood at a corner and waited for Hossain to move away. After she proceeded to go home, Hossain followed her again.
In the lift, he crossed his arms as he stares at her. After she tried to exit the lift, Hossain tried to grab her and the girl tried to ran.
He held on to her backpack and only let go after he spotted her neighbour, the girl managed to take shelter at her neighbour’s home and later escape.
Two in a day
After failing to get what he wants he followed another 16-year-old girl into the lift on the same day, the girl who exited the lift also ran off quickly to avoid Hossain in a similar fashion.
But she immediately ran home and locked her doors, Hossain tried to pull the door while cupping his balls with his hands.
The neighbour who initially helped the 13-year-old girl confronted him and he tried to run away.
Only to be arrested soon after.
Hossain Mohammad Akram pleaded guilty to one charge each of using criminal force and was sentenced to 8 weeks in jail.
